According to the article, USA is expanding into reality television and is "close" to ordering a new season of Tough Enough. It's also "expected" to run in tandem with RAW, so I guess that means a three hour block like TNA does with iMPACT! and ReACTION.

I wonder who will be training the noobs? The original trainers and stars of Tough Enough, Al Snow and Taz, are in TNA.

NXT really has to be dead after this season.

Depends on how much they want to use "name" WWE talent to draw. They could take someone off the roster, a William Regal-type and do it, or they could just use the FCW trainers, like Billy Kidman and Norman Smiley.

Agreed. I still can't believe he went from MTV Reality Whore to future WWE Champion. And I like it :)

I'd really like to see Ricky Steamboat or Arn Anderson ... or perhaps Jamie Noble ... isn't he still employed as an agent?

If they work it like "Ultimate Fighter", where we get two Pros with their own teams of rookies, you'd have to, have to, HAVE TO use Miz and Morrison as the opposing Pros.

I like this. I liked the first seasons mostly.

But I think there should be focus on the off-camera obligations as well to prepare the folks, much like Triple H scared off one season's ringer by saying how much time they spend away from home. Charity gigs, appearances, signings, the military shows, developmental training, licensing work -- they need to know what they're getting into.

They had 3 Male Trainers & 1 female trainer so here is my guess on the trainers, at least the trainers I would want to see:

Mike "The Miz" Mizanin (Former TE Contestant)
William Regal
Christian
&
Gail Kim
djp
Morcilla

It's funny you should say that.

Anyone but Bob Holly. William Regal is a fine choice.

As much as I like The Miz, I don't think he's in anyway qualified to be a Tough Enough trainer, other than maybe the third string. I think Morrison would be even worse, from a training perspective.

William Regal seems like an obvious choice. Anything that Regal doesn't have isn't something that can be taught, anyway.

CM Punk could be absolutely phenomenal as a trainer. He has the technical prowess and experience to teach the trainees what they need to know as well as the smart-ass attitude and quick wit to make it entertaining for everyone else.

Goldust would definitely have a lot to offer as far as teaching the various aspects of the game.

Christian could be an interesting choice but I'm not sure if he would be able to establish the rapport necessary for a successful trainer/student relationship. (I'm going off Chris Jericho & Lance Storm's comments about Christian being a "natural heel" and that even the people who love him, hate him.

I say go ahead and throw Chavo Guerrero in there. He has experience training on Tough Enough and seems to be one of their go to guys for working with the newest prospects in dark matches.

And... if they were to use Hornswoggle as a trainer, I would absolutely watch every single episode.

Oh, hey... and why not Ricardo Rodriguez? According to his tiny Wikipedia article, he used to be a trainer at Fit Pit Pro Wrestling School. (I'm assuming the guy speaks English.)

Got to have heel trainers.

Like it or hate it, ball busting trainers pop ratings on these types of reality shows. Also contestants that absolutely do not get along with each other.

Finlay, Regal, Chavo, and Jillian have actually trained people. Punk was the trainer of the ROH wrestling school so he could be great as the mean guy. Miz can't train anyone, unless this is the new "entertaining" Tough Enough like a cross between NXT and TE4. Tough Enough with developmental guys/The Ultimate Fighter with wrestlers is exactly what NXT should've been and what I presumed it would be ... if they hadn't put the concept together in like a week, which precluded them from doing anything like "filming and editing episodes more than an hour in advance" or "holding a male diva search."

Would they really use 1 of their regular full-time guys as a trainer, though? Seems like it would be too much of a hassle for them to do TV/PPV & train guys. Do guys get a cut of house show gates? If so, that'd be another reason for a full-time guy to decline an invitation as a trainer. I can see them bringing in a Punk/Miz/whoever as a guest trainer for a day, like the original TE did with Austin/HHH/etc.

I'd guess the trainers will be from a pool of:
-Regal
-Finlay (he can be the tough "bad guy")
-Noble
-Chavo (he's supposedly the Swagger Soaring Eagle, so maybe not?)
-Arn
-Steamboat
-Jillian

Yeah, Punk is too high-profile for this. Regal as the hardhearted mentor would be perfect. I'd also get a kick out of Goldust as the Al Snow analogue, but only if he did the entire thing in full facepaint.

Given that USA are after this, you'd have to think it's going to be planned a wee bit more rigorously/quality-controlled a LOT more than the glorified stopgap that NXT was.

I believe it was mostly legit, esp. since they could hire any of them regardless of if they "won" or not.

I wonder if Lance Storm might be someone they would contact about being a trainer for the show.

I also believe it was mostly legit, as Maven and Nidia won, but they still brought in Josh Matthews and Chris Nowitski (who I had pegged as winnign it)

Tough Enough was totally legit except for the normal editing tricks and manufactured conflict that goes into any reality show.
