I am sure once the list is revealed the arguments will be huge. Just looking by the cover, I am not sure if I would add Jake or Iron Sheik to that list. JYD is in for what he did for African American wrestlers during his time and Moolah is in for being the longest running female wrestler for her time. I would think Bret would be added since he is on good terms again with the WWE while Hogan and Flair will be on there since it would negate the list without them. I am sure they will get shorter segments then what they really deserve, but I could be wrong. Foley is probably the odd out man out as well as Owen with the new lawsuit.
It will definitely be interesting to see who the odd men out will be.
These are the men who are on the list in the magazine, but not on the (front of the) DVD cover:
Andre the Giant, George Steele, Haystacks Calhoun, Ric Flair, Jesse Ventura, King Kong Bundy, Buddy Rodgers, Ultimate Warrior, Don Muraco, Honky Tonk Man, Hulk Hogan, Killer Kowalski, Chris Jericho, Jay Strongbow, Bret Hart, Bob Backlund, Bobo Brazil, Ivan Putski, Razor Ramon, Wendi Richter, Randy Savage, Mick Foley, Bruno Sammartino, Brock Lesnar, Yokozuna, Billy Graham, Antonino Rocca, Pedro Morales, Ernie Ladd, Kurt Angle, Rick Rude, Ken Patera, Paul Orndorff
33 that is, if I counted correctly. On the DVD cover on the other hand, you already have 27 guys, which means at least 10 of the 33 names above won't make it on the list, if not more!
Interesting. They're allegedly listing the top 50 WRESTLING superstars of all time, not merely the top WWE performers. But I don't see them listing any Japanese stars who didn't come to MSG at least once.
The PR text does mention Hulk and Flair. You gotta figure Hulk is third behind Rock and Austin, right?

Shawn Michaels isn't on the cover either.
There are only three people I can't identify that are on the cover and it just maybe the lighting, the way they are placed and whatnot.
The one who is just above the 'T' of Top (in between Pat Patterson and Edge). The one in the top right corner between Lawler and Cena, and the one between Cena and Dusty Rhodes. Maybe it's just picture quality, age of the superstar that I can't recognize when they were younger, or the pose. Help anyone?
EDIT: Never mind, after further viewing of the cover I relized that Shawn Michaels is there as he is the one above the 'T', I didn't realizre he was doing the 'DX Chop' with his arms above his head, the shadow across his face, REALLY threw me off the identity.
EDIT #2: The comments section for the article claim that the wrestler between Lawlwr and Cena is Gorilla Monsoon, but I just don't see it no matter which way I look at the picture.

The one in between Cena and Dusty is Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, I believe. His haircut looks a little weird, but he's giving the hand sign of Snuka.

The guy getting book plugs on Raw? I'd say the only people on the serious outs are Bruno and Superstar Graham, but they aren't going to exclude them entirely.

It's a reeeeaaally early picture of Gorilla:

Wow. I've rocked a pretty hefty neckbeard in my day, but never with the clean-shaven face look. You have to be a special sort of man to make that work. A man like Gino Monsoon for instance.

If that was the picture I'd see it. It must just be the angle his head is at on the cover, because I still don't see it.
Even the Snuka picture is hard to tell. It doesn't help that his left arm is disembodied by the title and Dusty's, Snuka's AND Cena's arm all morph to make it look like Snuka's left arm is just curled up. I almost would have guessed Orndorff instead of Snuka.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

It really is the angle his face is at that make it hard to identify, not to mention that it is sized really small on the cover and cover shot is also angled. It still takes a while to look at it and say it's him.
Again the pic that Ziedler posted I recognize instantly as a young Gorilla Monsoon, but if someone showed that picture and asked, I wouldn't be able to answer. Thanks for posting the link AWArulz.
Please, it's zEIdler, not zIEdler. And I prefer Mike. :)
I could have sworn Gorilla still had that beard when he fought Ali (I saw a clip of it somewhere, maybe in a tribute?) but apparently not. I was shocked at how different Gorilla looked from when I was growing up and he was announcing. He was the only guy I've seen who could pull off colored glasses.

Superstar is a WWE trademark or somesuch if i recall right.
WCW and NWA were able to call their athletes "Superstars"

Woah, woah, woah... The Junkyard dog was the height of racism in wrestling if anything. The hard head gimmick with the 3 inch skull, constantly being riddled as a idiot, all sorts of racist promos against him (Funk, Valentine, Flair etc), even a WWF commentator said he couldn't read or write.
By allowing himself to be gimmicked in such racist fashion, if anything, he buried black wrestlers, not helped them. To this day, black wrestlers can't get over without doing a gimmick like rap, jig, or dance in the ring.
