For a certain generation, He was the man who brought entertaining and quality television. He also seemed like a gret guy too. He was 69.

The number of his production company tags alone should tell people how long he was working in this field.

Name a bad show Cannell was involved in. OK, Renegade, but that kinda had a "so bad it's good" quality to it. Godspeed, Stephen.

(I hope everyone in Hollywood who has so much as a case of the sniffles in RUNNING to their doctor right now. They're only supposed to go in threes, not fours.)

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

...that's no keyboard. It's probably before your time, but we called them 'typewriters'.

Depressing news, this is.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

I remember him for the end credits, but had forgotten a bit about how much his shows were a big part of my childhood viewing. The A-Team, 21 Jump Street, and Silk Stalkings among others. A great talent for making entertaining TV shows. RIP

Not sure I ever shared the story, but as a kid right after Greatest American Hero debuted, I was looking through TV Guide (I had a weird habit of memorizing when all the shows were coming on, which was much easier when there were only 5 channels) and saw ABC's Address, so I wrote a letter and told ABC how much I loved the show.
About a month later, I get a letter from his offices, all official and typewritten, saying how much he appreciated the support.

I wish I still had that letter.

RIP, and thanks for entertaining me!

Look at this body of work, yeah a few strinekrs, but a LOT of good quality.

His studio is developing feature film versions of several of his hit TV shows, including "21 Jump Street" and "The Greatest American Hero." "The A-Team" movie was released in theaters last summer.

Rock. On. They better not change the suit design.

Looking back at that list, I am still in awe of how many of his shows I watched. hell, in the mid 80's , he probably had like six out of the top 10 shows on the networks (that weren't named Dallas, Dynasty, Cosby or Cheers).

R.I.P., Mr. Cannell. Thank you for the years of entertainment and memories.
