It's the big Britney Spears episode and while I personally don't care for a lot of her music, the theme episodes typically tend to bring good stuff.

Welcome back, Emma Pillsbury. You were missed last week. And you brought JOHN STAMOS~! with you! Every bit as good as advertised and I can't wait for his first musical number.

And...welcome back, Terri Schuster, I guess. I was kinda hoping you'd stay gone.

The musical numbers were pretty good. Of course, considering I'm supposed to be imagining these girls as high school girls, watching them tart themselves up for a Britney Spears number is...kinda creepy. Kinda REALLY creepy. Or maybe I'm just getting old. Although seeing Miss Britney herself was very much appreciated.

I got a huge kick out of Sue pulling the fire alarm and the subsequent exchange:

Sue: You know, William, that's what one Hubert Humphrey said back in 1968 at the start of the Democratic National Convention, but then hippies put acid in everyone's bourbon. And when an updraft revealed Ladybird Johnson's tramp stamp and tattoos above her ovaries, Mayor Richard J Daly became so incensed with sexual rage that he punched his own wife in the face and spent the next hour screaming "SEX PARTY!" into the microphones of all three major networks.
Will: Ok, I'm pretty sure none of that happened.

Next week, Finn makes a Grilled Jesus. And Kurt's dad may be dying. NOOOO! Not Mike O'Malley! He's been my favorite guest star so far.

THIS EPISODE'S AMAZON SONG LIST

Toxic by Britney Spears - (Original)(Glee)
The Only Exception by Paramore - (Original)(Glee)

EDIT: Fixed the broken "The Only Exception" link.

Was Charice's appearance a one time only? Unfortunate.

I can't stand Britney Spears, so the episode was pretty lousy by my books outside of the Oops I Did It Again segment.

No, she's the villain of the season, like Jesse last year, so she'll be on more as the season goes on, but I imagine it'll be sporatic.

We finally have a name for Brittany! Though Pierce doesn't really sound dutch.

I like how they're giving the third tier players a bunch of spotlight early this season. Now all we need is a Mike Chang solo. No? Heather Morris and Naya Rivera have surprisingly good voices.

And a Paramore song! I'm just sad that poor Artie didn't get to sing on it.

Artie singing Stronger and whole sequence was pretty funny.

I did enjoy the episode as it did focus on Britney's 'better' songs. The arrangement of Toxic was very well done as was Sue's freak out over the kids getting excited.

Brittany had some good lines though, and was actually shown as being a good signer and dancer. And she actually looked liked Britney in the song.

The only thing I didn't like was Rachel's rendition of Baby One More Time.

That was my favourite Britney Spears sex riot of all time. Britney's a legend people, don't make me repeat Santana and tell you to leave her alone. Love Brit's music and she had some nice little bits on the show, especially as the sexy teacher in the One More Time number.

Songs were all good (loved the take on Toxic), the awesome Heather Morris got her first solo(s) and was wicked with the lines.

Apparently Matthew Morrison said in an interview after the Madonna ep he hoped they wouldn't do Britney songs, that's why Shue was against it.

That riff from One More Time works great as a transition piece, it should replace that duh-dun on Law & Order.

Shut up, Josh!
