What, in the history of Vince McMahon would make you think he feels this kind of civic responsibility? He has never been about reinventing the wheel, despite his reputation. And God forbid anyone should stick up for men here, but if I were to point a finger at WWE for promoting an unhealthy body image it sure wouldn't pertain to women. I must have missed the truckload of dead female wrestling performers who picked up roid, coke, and pill habits tryin' to survive the killer kalendar.

You don't think the female performers have used roids/HGH in order to keep their physiques (not so much to bulk up but to keep the fat off)? We know Michelle McCool developed a severe eating disorder that required hospitalization. The company ran angles and/or made comments that made fun of "fat" (the company's view, not mine) women like Mickie James & Molly.

Besides, it's a little unfair to compare the women to the men, as it is only recently that the company has fielded a sizable competitive women's division that wrestles every week.

Furthermore, why does it have to be an either/or? Unhealthy body images have been / continue to be promoted for both sexes.

I don't recall specifically what the product was but I've seen mention (maybe by a former diva?) of specific diet products that are abused by the divas and are *not* listed by the wellness policy at all. It wasn't anything related to steroids, however.

Dawn Marie, in a recent interview about Linda McMahon, admitted she had used a steroid as a fat burner when she was in WWE. Others have been accused/rumored to have been doing similar things.

Welp. Elizabeth and Sherri are both dead, so that's, uh, 100% of their late '80s roster. And I guess Sapphire is dead too.

Chyna and Sunny - serious drug problems

This is not a terrific ratio considering the fraction of women employed in wrestling compared to men. Obviously men do a hell of a lot more damage to their bodies in the ring, and there's more pressure to work through injuries. Although for women, taking your regular bumps on a consistent touring schedule on a skinny frame doesn't feel great, I'm sure.

Everyone from the 2000s is still too young to see the long-term health effects, especially when I think they're the first generation where steroids for a toned female figure became en vogue (do cutting/fat-burn steroids enlarge the heart? beats me). Ashley Massaro did have some kind of cryptic drug problems.

And it's official. She can now grow her hair back if she wishes.
