Daniel Bryan is a vegan, as far as I know Kaval is not. PETA publicly questioned a decision made by WWE management, thus are evil. Michael Cole is the mouthpiece for WWE management, thus he hates vegans. Of course, Michael Cole hated Daniel Bryan prior to PETA being involved but I'm only applying WWE logic here, not actual logic.
Wasn't the criticism PETA gave McMahon the result of them firing Daniel Bryan, and that came after Cole had already been going full-bore "I HATE HIM FOR SOME REASON" mode for months? Or is there another incident from last year or something I can't remember?
With Kaval, Cole seems to oscillate between "LOOK AT THIS NERD, HE'S A DUMB LITTLE NERD" and "you have to respect the tenacity of this young athlete!"
For those of you who, which seems to be a fair majority of you who don't like the new WWE Tag Team Titles, want a nice picture of the new WWE Tag Team Titles please look above.
Here are my thoughts
Definitely NOT a traditional design
So, Tag Teams are now Roman Gladiators?
No globe or world. Yeah, these are bland & yes I'm not in the "target demographic".

In that lighting, it looks great. I couldn't tell what the helmet mohawks were supposed to be while watching RAW. They looked like bandito bandoleers.
I continue to like the recent WWE belts, including the US, Diva, and ECW world titles. I miss the latter a lot.

I like the new tag team titles, but I'm a little surprised they've opted away from designs with a nameplate.
I think the thing that bugged me the most about the end of RAW was nobody took the highly symbolic action of removing Young's "N" armband. WWE doesn't usually miss an opportunity for high symoblism, so maybe this means something. But probably, it does not.
I'm with Thrill, especially after seeing the belt close up (thanks JWrestle). Those things are ugly as sin. It doesn't help that I think of Wrestlemania 9 when I see it.

The design of the belts is fine, even though they look like big pennies from a distance. Garish belts are their thing now, ever since the Cena belt became the official belt.
If anything, I'm more put off by them being round. To me, round belts indicate singles titles, especially with plates that big. Also, I think carrying multiple belts just looks cooler.
I wonder if another IC belt redesign is in the works.

Perhaps they grew tired of changing the nameplates so often?
You're kidding, right? The Unified titles only changed hands twice this whole year. The Harts have been champs since the 4/26 RAW.

It was a statement regarding titles in general in WWE, not necessarily the tag belts in particular. It was also a joke. Wasn't it funny? Oh well.
But if we have to be serious, the Harts have only held the belts this long because there is no one to drop them to. That division is a joke, and other than a brief period over the last year thanks to JeriShowMiz, it has been a joke for a long time.

Having seen many pics of the belts, and having time to reflect, they aren't a bad design at all. It has a nice clean look and if it's a Spartan theme, well, it's on the money.
For a WWE belt, it looks a bit bush league to me. I just expect a more classic design but in last 7 years or so, it's been clear they're moving away from that (Cena's belts).
Like others have said, I'm not the target market and I guess I will just never get it.
I also long for the days of the belt designs of the mid/late 90s: HBK/Austin belt, WCWs big gold belt, Rocky's IC title, the WWF Tag titles, and the US title. All those were great classic designs that make the current WWE belt designs look silly to us in the 30 and over crowd.
I re-watched the show this weekend, and found something else to gripe about: As far as we know only Michael Cole can receive communication from the anonymous general manager and only via email. The email said Bret Hart's replacement is now coming to the ring. (Randy Orton). If we are just finding out now, how would Orton know he's the opponent? Does he also know the identity of the GM?
Also, does Natalya have the most prominent boobs in WWE history? They are right there, like she accompanies them to the ring or something.

I wholeheartedly agree. They DO stand up and say "We're here~!"

This is the second time this has been done to my knowledge. To my understanding the logic is that emails are sent to Michael Cole for annoucments to the crowd, but also has contacts with the whole roster for times like this. The thing I liked was both this time and the last time (a few weeks ago with Sheamus facing 'this man'...cue Evan Bourne's music (See RAW #895 thread)) it took a minute or two for the opponent to come out because they weren't completly ready.
This case specifcally probably went something like this Orton is told by the GM to be ready for action tonight. (when he gets there or on the way there). Cole gets email telling him that the change has been made, GM then send email (while Cole is reading to the crowd) to Orton telling him to head to the ring. (Probably with a third email to production guys that Orton is heading to the ring play his music)
At least one wrestler has mentioned getting a text message from the GM in the past. I want to say it was Edge or possibly Jericho and it purportedly happened over the weekend prior to the Raw in question but I'm a bit hazy on the details.
As for the theme music queuing up when a wrestler goes to the ring, I always thought they should just claim they'd had the wrestlers chipped and when they walked through the entrance, it triggered the appropriate music. Then they would always have to come through the crowd for sneak attacks.

Off the top of my head, the turns that made my jaw drop were: Michaels at the Barbershop. Rock at Survivor Series '98. Triple H at Wrestlemania XV. Austin at InVasion. I honestly didn't see any of these coming.
