It was actually Michael Waltrip and Awesome Bill From Dawsonville.

I'd say the hated team in Nascar was (and really, is, although Mark Martin and Jr have helped) Hendrick. Especially in the Earnhardt years. "what do you call 42 rednecks chasing a pretty boy? Nascar"

I think the editors got the '93 Florida State mixed up with the Notre Dame team. How can a team that suffered probably a franchise killing lose the next week after beating the team that won the national be considered hated. As a Notre Dame fan, living in Penn State country, not the easiest place to live, I had people coming up to me thanking me for the win even the week before people were telling me they were routing for Notre Dame, a sin in that part of the country. If its because of the crying over getting screwed out of the title, then maybe I could see it, but still they weren't even ranked at the beginning of the season and if it was it was very low. If they would have beaten Boston College and maybe beat Nebraska in the title game then I would think they would be a Cinderella story. I have no idea why they are on the list then just wanting to attack the popular kids. And in front of the Black Sox, who should be in the top five considering they almost killed baseball, is fucking retarded.

I agree with number one though, til this day people beat want to beat the shit out of Miami for the way they handed most of their opponents their ass from that era. I am a little surprised that 90s Florida State team, Teabow's Florida team from last year and a number of others are not on the list. Its like they had 5 names that wanted for the story and pulled the rest out of a hat. The Bulls not being on the list invalidates this, the Rodman Bulls teams were hated don't like the MJ mystique fool you, probably more then the Knicks at any time.

This is one of the most incorrect things you have ever posted on here. "The Rodman Bulls"? Really? You are probably the first person to ever use that term. Michael Jordan is one of the most popular and beloved, if not THE most popular and beloved, athletes of all time. I'm sure Knicks fans and Pacers fans and fans of a couple of other similarly victimized teams probably disliked the Bulls, but most of the rest of the country was in love with MJ and the Bulls. They don't belong anywhere near this list.

I don't know about that. Also, I am not the only one with opinion on this thread. The problem with the Bulls was that they dominated everyone in the Finals that the Eastern Conference series became the real Finals. MJ's love-in was starting to whine down when he kept getting calls all the time. Add Rodman, a guy who was not loved or beloved by any stretch of the imagination. The Bulls started to become old hate and people were just tired of seeing them winning every year. Near the end, I think more people were routing for the Knicks then against the Bulls at the time since everyone knew the Jazz were just lambs to the slaughter. ESPN spins the tale they were the greatest basketball team every and everyone worshiped Jordan. In all actuality as great as MJ was, he got a ton of calls more so then usual with anyone with a superstar status. Also, how beloved was he when he came to play for the Wizards?

All I am saying is that the Bulls with Rodman were not a team people had fond memories, its more of a circus then anything else. The Bulls without Rodman 91 to 93 were beloved and people liked them. I just find it out odd that a Notre Dame team that was a giant underdog and didn't win anything was on this list, but a team that had steamrolled almost everyone in their league and who also had giant villain on their team is not.

As far as I can tell Psycho Penguin is the only other poster who said anything about hating the Bulls. If you want to side with him, well, good for you I guess. But you're not going to sway a lot of opinions if he's your only backup.

Also, how beloved was he when he came to play for the Wizards?

Michael Jordan was no longer really "MJ" by the time he unretired (for the second time) to play with the Wizards. It wasn't a very good team and he was well beyond his prime. Plus people don't really like it when an athlete keeps unretiring.

Rodman wasn't as big of a villain as you're making him out to be. He wasn't beloved by any stretch of the imagination, but he was looked at more as a goofball or a freak show than an outright villain. Personally I think he was just ahead of his time in terms of his antics. These days I don't think people would blink an eye at his tattoos or hairstyles or even his off-the-court behavior. You want to see a villain, look at John Starks (from any non-Knicks fan's perspective) or Reggie Miller (from any Knicks fan's perspective).

As for Notre Dame, I wasn't watching college football back then so I have no opinion on the matter.

The fact you are making an argument for Reggie Miller as a worse villain then Rodman is sad. Besides the choke sign to Spike Lee, he was a class act through his career. Rodman was on the Bad Boy Pistons, he kicked a reporter during his run with the Bulls and in the Finals, got into a fight with Malone that should have sent both of them to the showers. Do you want him to threaten the world with nuclear weapons? Guy was a villain no to ways about it. As a Knicks fan, I hate Miller and its because of the said incident above as well as being ice cold down the stretch in games, but I don't consider him a villain.

MJ's run with the Wizards while I agree with the Brett Farve syndrome and something to do with the Bulls last few title wins. People just got sick of him and I think it was the final title where it started to manifest then bleed into the Wizard's run. Yeah, Psycho Pirate, not the best back-up, but it does prove that not everyone loved Jordan.

Yeah, nobody outside of New York was rooting for the Knicks. The 90's version of the Knicks were some of the most unlikable teams of all time, from their dull style of basketball to guys like Starks that got way overhyped by the New York media.

I stand corrected. Thanks for clearing that up.

And as a rule, I can't stand Hendrick Motorsports, either.

I don't seem to recall Reggie Miller kicking any cameramen, either.

First, welcome to a long, long time ago.

Second, all I said was that Reggie Miller was a villain (possibly the biggest ever villain) to the Knicks and their fans. Are you some how refuting that claim?

Was it Rooney's first season? I know he was 16 when he got signed by them.

Just guesses there.

THAT was SOMETHING. Antonio Margarito took Shane Mosley's shots for nearly eight rounds, but Mosley hurt Margarito and then REALLY hurt him with the same jumping left hook that he KO'ed Ricardo Mayorga with.
