Holy crap, dude! There's a new WRESTLICIOUS taped from right here in Minneapolis!
(Thanks again to Bite TV and Brightcove for making these episodes available!)
To watch it with ME, scroll down, click "play" on the Vimeo and after I yak a bit, pressing "play" on the Brightcove video when you think I'm doing the same. (I generally try to give you a countdown.)
Unfortunately my OWN stream blew up in the middle of it, so be warned that you'll probably want to pause the Wrestlicious episode at around 10:15 in and wait for me to get my shit back together. (And if you DON'T give up at that point...you may eventually be as pleasantly surprised as I was!)
Worse comes to worse...at least watching it with me you can hear me totally miss out on all those wicked Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair references they're making that I'm totally busy talking over. ;-)
The new ring announcer has some sort of chin growth. I couldn't tell if it was beard related or piercing related. His hair... might be the most interesting thing on this whole show.
I still hate White Magic's gimmick and costume.
I love the "wrestler looks awkward and uncomfortable while being given directions to look sexy" bikini shoots. They never fail to make me feel all warm and fuzzy about watching the show.
I actually semi liked this one, due to it sort of looking like a ring & minus the bright pink ropes from that blasted studio sound stage. Looks like the show kind of has its act together though some of it still just a bit over the top, just...a...bit.
Well, if the Internet is to be believed, episodes 10 through 13 will come from the First Avenue taping - and they have all been rejected by MavTV and BiteTV for their different "look" (I find this EXTREMELY hard to believe, but if they ain't airing, they ain't airing). Apparently they're going through episodes 1-9 yet again.
And yet, Bite is at least going to host streams of these episodes even while they won't air them... and they either have already aired or WILL air as normal on the America One stations. (Does anyone get ANY of these stations and can actually confirm?)
Finally, assuming there's a future second "season," it'll be back to the soundstage for THOSE tapings.
Diva-Dirt.com put up a review and embedded video a few days ago. last time i watched their copy it worked. (it's on page 5 of the site.) (edit: after several attempts i got CRZ's vimeo and bite.tv to work together but the video quality was not that good.) Usual crap aside, this was a good show. We got 2 matches and introduced to (via the obligitory bikini shoot)Kickstart Katie (Neveah, who is pretty good in the ring.)
Match 1 Cousin Cassie vs. Juvi Hall was ok. Juvi did most of the work but Cassie had a couple moves. Points for the Hope (Portia Perez) run-in.
Match 2 was really fun and good. Marley (Daizee Haze) and Coco Montego (Sojouner Bolt/Josie) vs. Hope (Portia Perez, one half or the Shimmer Tag Champs the Canadian Ninjas!!!) not Faith ( Nicole Matthews)and old ring announcer Johnny C's new wife White Magic (the lovely Lacey), Refereed by Austin Aires. That all right there is goodness in itself.
Lots of action by really great wrestlers and the comedy with the voodoo doll was actually funny and served to tell the story of the match as it was. While I would have liked to see a pin, the DQ ending worked for me cuz it was the heelish thing to do.
Cut out the wrestlecrap ( or leave it in given that it would fit their product) this could be a half hour of Impact that I would rather see over anything with Anderson, Nash, Orlando Jordan or Jesse Neal.

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army National Guard! Job well done in Iraq!
Is it just me, or is Wrestlicious working with a VERY small ring?
CRZ, keep up the good work. Your accompanying commentaries are the only thing that make this stuff worth watching (except for Austin Aries. He was a good time when he did a show for us in NWA Wisconsin up here a couple years back.)
Thank God for gin & tonics to get me through this "promotion." :-)

I don't know if this directly has anything to do with those stations, but I caught an episode of this on The Comcast Network a week or so ago. It was an old one--I recognized the scene of the military character "recruiting" in the ring and choosing a member of the floor crew, and I only ever watched the first couple. I was assuming that Comcast was simply late to the party, but perhaps they were picking it up from one of these networks so they were getting reruns.

It's not really TNA I'm aiming at. TNA is what it is at this point; expecting them to even pay lip service to the notion of taking care of its employees is a pipedream at this point.
