I was re-watching The Wire and totally forgot what day it is. Sorry, guys!

Culled from other sources:

Percy Watson beats Zack Ryder with the Floatover DDT / Twisting Splash.

Michael McGillicutty beats Eli Cottonwood with the spinning neckbreaker.

Husky Harris beats Kaval with the running senton.

And here are the new rankings:

1. Michael McGillicutty
2. Kaval
3. Alex Riley
4. Percy Watson
5. Lucky Cannon
6. Husky Harris
7. Eli Cottonwood

Eli is eliminated (sorry, CRZ!) and reacts by attacking the other Rookies.

-----

I'm surprised by the swift drop of Watson down the rankings, and a little by McGillicutty's swift rise (but his win/loss backs it up).

Okay, who actually saw the show?

Such an exciting show I couldn't be bothered to pause the DVR while I was making dinner so it kinda ran in the background for me.

We already proved last week that McGillicutty would end up with zero fan votes, so I have no idea how he pulls #1 if fan votes are 50% of the total. Mathematically, you can't get 50% Fs and still pull an A average.

First with Titus and now with Eli, these guys always seem a whole lot more interesting just after they're eliminated. I'm not sure what that means....but it means SOMETHING.

Cottonwood was actually the best he's been tonight, and the backstage bit with Morrison was amusing, but fortunately or unfortunately that don't make up for the previous (x) weeks.

But man, do I want a MUSTACHE T-shirt now.

Big deals were made tonight of the first rookie beating a pro (Watson over Ryder) in this series, as well as McGillicutty still having an unbeaten record (now 5-0).

Show opened with everybody getting to speak for a minute on a topic of their own choosing - which makes you wonder why they'd bother selecting a topic, also how meaningless it was with the fan vote closed, but THIS IS NXT.

I remember nothing from any of these except McGillicutty devoted his minute to taking exception to Miz pronouncing him "mediocre" during last week's pro opinion montage and challenging him to a match, which Miz poo-poo'd by saying get a RAW or Smackdown contract and then I'll listen to your challenges, or something like that. (It WAS McGillicutty, right? Like I said, totally unmemorable!)

That's all I got.

Yes, CRZ, it was McGillicutty.

And I (!) voted for him, so it probably was my fault that he ended up as the number 1 - Sorry, guys, but I really liked his performance in last weeks's rookie challenge. He would have made his daddy proud, I think. I also think he should start chewing (and spitting it out) gum before his matches, as a homage to his heritage.

Next time I will vote for Husky Harris, because this week I noticed that he's the most deserving rookie of this season, the guy you barely noticed at first, but who made you notice him by pure force, because he became better and better every time you saw him in the ring or heard him talk. Kind of what Wade Barrett was for season 1.

Last, but not least: Alex Riley's "voice of god"-comment was really funny imo.

The show was definitely 'average'. Nothing really stood out. I'm surprised it was down to Husky and Eli, I thought it would Eli and Lucky at the bottom.

It really seemed like the fans shit all over Lucky's promo about 'friends'. I really think he will be the next one gone. Riley still seems very generic 'cocky heel who makes fun of every one else' which doesn't interest me.

I was also surprised about Michael McGuillicuty getting 1st overall. I guess they just gave '100%' of the fan votes since we couldn't vote for him?

I'm getting better at being able to separate my top 5 into a more of a ranking then 'top 5 any order'. I think Precy is dropping only because people like Kaval and Michael McG better.

My rankings right now (of the remaining 6) are:
1. Michael McG.
2. Kaval
3. Husky Harris
4. Percy Watson
5. Alex Riley
6. Lucky Cannon.

Michael and Kaval are so close, but I think I would rather see Michael move on than Kaval. ANd yes size has a lot to do with it. I have a hard time buying Mysterio as a champion and Kaval is not much bigger (or is he smaller?). Honestly I'd like to see both move (and I'm sure they will both be on WWE TV), but as far as a PPV title shot I think I'd rather see Michael McG then Kaval.

I do like Husky, and I like the character too. THe tank with the ferrari engine is a nice line. And the fact that he has a chip on his shoulder because people can't get past the fact that the he 'husky' is awesome.

Percy fell to fourth for me because I'm not sure where his character would go, the other three are just more interesting than he is right now. And I think that is also how he fell to 4th in the NXT poll as well.

As stated before Alex Riley seems generic heel. He does seem to have the talent but I find the 4 above him are better in the ring and have better characters as well. He does have the mic skills though and that's what keeps him above Lucky Cannon.

And then there is Lucky generic character and generic talent, and not too good on the mic either.

So which pro are you?

Husky Harris was once again the standout to me. I'm going to assume that the plan is to keep Husky Harris in the inches from elimination spot for the remainder of the program until he makes it into the top three and is eliminated, which will probably best serve his character. His backstage promo with Kaval showed potential for a Waylon Mercy like character.

McGillicutty was certainly the right choice for an undefeated streak. He probably stands to gain the most from winning the competition.

With Lucky Cannon's promo about how he was somebody thanks to nobody, I thought he was turning heel. I hope he gets eliminated next week and cuts a heel turn promo unseen since the unveiling of The Rock.

Percy Watson didn't beat a WWE pro, he beat a WWE pro with pneumonia. If Zach Ryder isn't the US champion by Wrestlemania then it's time for WWE management to be subjected to the wellness policy. From this day forward, Percy Watson is dead to me.

It means that the WWE is acknowledging that they suck at creating new stars and that when the NXT rookies are no longer required to portray their WWE scripted characters, they're instantly more entertaining. That's the entire "unknown" agenda of the Nexus in their war against WWE management. The fact that people are still complaining that nobody knows what motivates Nexus still astounds me.

1. Husky Harris
2. Kaval
3. Michael McGillicutty
4. Lucky Cannon
5. Alex Riley

I was annoyed to see Michael McGillicutty ranked #1, since nobody could possibily have voted for him. Winning immunity should not automatically rank him #1.

The right wrestler was eliminated in my opinion, never liked Eli Cottonwood.

What do a couple of other (better than the ones on the show now) Pros think?

@JohnCena CeNation. Alex riley, and husky both strong showings last night. Give credit to miz, he's a damn good coach. If percy watson makes another...

@JohnCena One of those faces where I'm suposed to think he's mad but it looks like he just crapped himself...ill eliminate him. He has gone downhill..

@JohnCena Every single week. Dissapointing. He is really one hell of an athlete. I think he may be suffering from yep yep syndrome. Looking for...

@JohnCena Something special when all he needs is what he's got. (This fortune cookie moment brght 2 u by, schwin penny farlings)

Yikes. Cena has soured on Percy, and I don't disagree with his assessment. But the best comment came from William Regal:

@RealKingRegal: What a shame for Eli Cottonwood. He starts his new job today as a babysitter.Very reasonable rates.

I'm with Mr. Z on Eli. He had been nothing but fail for so long. Whether he had the idea for the "Mustache" t-shirt or someone else did, Eli didn't mind making fun of himself. His confab with Morrison was great, and his running back out and fighting dudes was a great turning point for a guy whose gimmick was that he was weird but passive. By the end I was sad to see Eli go, and I never thought that would have happened.

Time is running out on Lucky Cannon. His pro is now a bigger jobber than Santino (literally and um...literally) and people hated his promo. While Husky Harris is the bottom-dweller at the moment, I think WWE will make sure to have their pros get Husky above Lucky. Well, I pray they do anyways.

My new rankings:
1. Kaval
Because one loss (in which he got pretty well protected) does not make him any less of a wrestler.
2. Michael McGillicuddy
3. Alex Riley
4. Husky Harris
Because communication issues in the match against Kaval really hampered the quality of that match. And if Kaval can't get a match out of you, who can?
5. Lucky Cannon
6. Percy Watson
Because he's pretty useless. Cena's got it right.

Hope to see Cannon or Percy go next time they do an elimination. I know the crowd is eating up Percy's act, but I can hope, right?

There was a fan voting on wwe.com as well, you know? And I'm a ... fan! The question should be: Why was his name even in the voting, when he was immune from elimination? That I don't know.

I'll be nice and won't say that McGillicutty was NEVER an option, but he was rarely an option and not seen by seemingly anyone else but you.

For whom did I vote then? It wasn't Kaval, I'm sure. I could swear it was McGillicutty, but well .... who knows. I have to pay more attention to certain things, I guess.

Absolutely nothing this week changed my opinion from last week (The W) in any significant way. At most, I might swap McGillacutty & Riley to 3 & 4, respectively.

Crowd shat all over Lucky's promo -- it was kinda cheesy. More importantly, he carried right on & stayed fully committed to it. Similarly, when the fire alarm (or whatever that was) went off in the middle of Kaval's promo, he didn't even flinch -- carried right on unfazed.

Riley got all tangled up in his own analogy. Either that, or he thinks the Milky Way rotates around the sun. As was, he just clarified that he's a little bitsy, insignificant blip on the periphery of a galaxy, which in turn is no BFD in the universe. Which would have been less egregious had he not started off with "If this was [sic] up to the WWE pros, or anybody with an education ..." Yawn.

Watson is not a particularly good worker. Other than the ability to jump up in the air, I'm not seeing much oomph or skill. McGillacutty is a decent worker, & did an OK, standard promo calling out Miz. (Although if Miz had opted to sandbag him & no-sell it, it would have just fizzled.) I'm personally still finding him completely bland though.

Kaval did a great job working Harris & selling for him. And Kaval continues to rock his own style, & throw in unique & personalized stuff. Did everybody else catch the very cool "kick" he snuck in there? Harris down; Kaval sets up as for a roundhouse kind of kick, catches his own foot, & pivots to spring the front kick downward into Harris. (It's right after he dodges the 3-point-stance spear into the corner.) Hard to describe, but *very* slick!

Definitely Cottonwood's best all around showing of the competition. Might be worth while trying a better defined gimmick for him. Maybe.
