Marvel wins the week thanks to the return of the single greatest character ever to be created by the House Of Ideas...

THE AMAZING SPIDER-HAM 25TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL!

Fuck Yeah! Nuff Said. (This actually came out LAST week I think, but my store was out of it...) TWO thumbe and my big toes Up!

X-MEN #001

Shit, ANOTHER X-Men #1? Well, at least they used every charcter they had for something other then standing around and listening to Cyclops and Emma talk for the entire issue. The art was decent enough and even though the Vampire stuff is overplayed, I'm interested enough to wanna see where this is going. Thumbs up!

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #636

Grim Hunt part three shows us what everyone and their dead relatives could have guessed... Kaine had switched places with Peter during that three page chase scene last issue and it was Kaine that was killed. This storyline is rather goofy and I really don't know why I'm reading it, probably out of loyalty to Kraven. I liked him. If he can be integrated back into the marvel Universe after this shit is over, and not used as a joke, I think it will be worth it. They also need to just kill off the rest of his family because they all really suck. Yes, ALL of them. Thumbs Down... but with somewhat promised light at the end of the tunnel.

SHADOWLAND #1

This was a surprise. Sure some parts were dumb like Bullseye mid-air escape and the talking Avengers part in the beginning, but it picks up with the second half of the book when Daredevil finally does the CORRECT thing and takes care of business. I'm digging Marvels new idea of have having concurrent small scale 'event titles' going on instead of suckering the customers to buy every book published. DOOMWAR, THANOS IMPERATIVE, and now SHADOWLAND is allowing readers to choose what they want to read instead of having one giant storyline where you have to read everything. Two Thumbs Up!

STEVE ROGERS - SUPER SOLDIER

If you thought Steve was gonna sit on the sidelines directing traffic while the other heroes were out doing stuff cause he asks them to, you were wrong. Steve is up to his normal 'Captain America' self here going to Madripoor doing a 'Patch Logan' type job. It seems someone has perfected the Super Soldier Serum and wants to sell it to the highest bidder. As first issues go, this was good. ...oh yeah, for X-Men completists, there is a Pete Wisdom sighting here. Thumbs Up!

BATMAN ODYSSEY

Now this was good. Neal Adams does a great job here getting you into his story and the art is kinda creepy and I want more now... is it next month yet? Thumbs Up!

Damn, there was a lot of good stuff this week.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.
