We received 12" of snow over night with some nice winds. Temp is 15 and I said screw work after it took 3 hours to dig everything out and the roads suck.
I'm about to go back out and shovel for the 2nd time today and take an official estimate but my unofficial guess is we have about 30" of snow and it's still coming down here in the MD burbs of DC.
The news is saying we might get 2" an hour until the storm stops tonight.
EDIT:
28.5" on my front porch and it's still coming down.
A giant snowstorm was supposed to hit Boston today. Tons of businesses and schools closed down for the day. It's now 3:30pm and I haven't seen anything more than a quick flurry. I biked to work this morning expecting to take the subway home, but as long as we don't get 6 inches in the next hour, I'll be biking back.
I am looking forward to the snow, just annoyed that it didn't fall during the daytime when I can watch it.

I wonder if that was our snowstorm. It did snow for like a day and a half (I'm actually surprised CRZ didn't post a picture of a car stuck in a snowbank again), but today it's been warm and sunny (warm in the winter for us means above freezing), so the snow has started to melt.
We got another 10-20" yesterday (10" of snowfall plus 40+MPH winds made for some pretty wild snow drifts) making it up to 40" of snow for the Baltimore-DC area since Friday.
We've had about a foot of snow in Dallas, which probabaly exceeds the city's cumulative snowfall for the last 10 years. For the first time in my life, I had to shovel the sidewalk and the driveway. And, all I can say is that I don't understand how anyone can live someplace that gets a lot of snow. It's pretty, but what a beating!

It makes life more interesting for 3-4 months per year. For me, living in a place that didn't get snow every winter would get tedious. "How's the weather?" "Fine. Again." Shoveling snow, scraping ice, and frozen extremities -- it's not all fun and games but it makes springtime all that much better.
New England is sorely lacking in snowfall this year. All you mid-coasters are hogging it all.

In Tampa for most of the past week, we've had some thunderstorms that have included the loudest thunder I've ever heard. The rain hasn't been that bad - and in fact it has been welcome because it has been so hot - but the thunder shakes my entire apartment and regularly wakes me up.
After a freezing cold winter, this has been the hottest summer (OK, technically summer started yesterday, so I guess the hottest spring) I remember experiencing in Florida.
St Louis has a nice pattern of being in the mid to upper 90s and sunny, then dark and raining and cooling off ten degrees, then getting back up into the high 90s again, all in the matter of twenty minutes. That's how the last week or so has seemed to go.
It's been so hot (how hot was it?) that the pool water was actually 89degrees. Makes it hard to control the algae when it's that hot.
I know many of you will laugh at me, but it's been over 80 degF for weeks now and it is terrrrrible. Some people brave the New England winters to enjoy the spring/summer/fall. I brave the New England summers to enjoy the fall/winter/spring.

With the humidity it was 113 Fahrenheit yesterday. Today it is going to be about 110. The rest of the week will be around that level (all with no rain), with Saturday finally dropping to a chilly 91.
After a (very) long hiatus, I have begun to write again. And this time, I'm not alone!
