You're assuming it wasn't, for example, Mattel.

Mattel has no problem with DC going into a PG-13 direction considering some of the parts of Dark Knight, the NXT was fairly lame. Mattel only cares about which figures sell and which don't. I am sure they are image conscious, but if a toy company is telling you who to run your company then you are in more trouble then you are letting on. I go with option all of the above.

Doubt Mattel acts until they get complaints from 'concerned parents'. If the idea that he could be brought back in a few months when this all blows over is to be believed, wouldn't that fit more along the lines of a political campaign that concludes in November rather than a toy company that isn't going out of business soon. If it is Mattel, why would they be fine with him in a few months, which, if that was the case, give him a token suspension.

Yes, but it'd also be in line with Jamie Noble's firing/rehiring when he got caught admitting he used steroids to a doctor. It seems very similar to me - well liked guy who's thought of as very skilled by those in the company does something that breaks company policy in a mostly innocuous way (different drug policy at the time) and is not important enough to get away with it. If Danielson comes back in 6-9 months, WWE can easily say he's served his punishment and deserves a second chance. This reasoning behind this punishment is illogical enough, but even from that starting point, it seems a huge stretch for them to only accept Danielson being permanently blackballed.

I am very upset to hear about the release of bryan danielson. Social networks were formed so people would have a voice, and an opinon. I Know you all have your own, theories and whatnot. I respect that. I have never asked any of you to feel a certaint way about me. But Bryan left a lasting impression on the wwe universe in a very short time, and although it came at my expense, I agree with the majority Of you who are caught off guard by this choice.

I know I'm not exactly appreciated by all, nor do I care to be, but I believe what I believe. I would like bryan to come back to the wwe. I would like to sign your petition to bring him back. I was taught to stand up for what I beileve in. I tried and failed, so I could Use some help. Tell me how to sign and I will. If for nothing else, to at least have a chance to have a match with him after what was done. I know that seems a bit more fair. Give me a chance to have a fair match with him, and give him yet another chance to prove that he does Belong with us. Sorry for the long message, I know I am probally way out of line, I am sorry if I have offended anyone. But like me or not That is what Hustle. Loyalty. And most importantly Respect means to me. Enjoy game 5

Annnnd half the people who have become convinced that this is a for real firing over the past 24 hours are now back to thinking it's not.

That's his official WWE Twitter. I'm going to assume he's writing his own stuff.

BTW, here's a list of official WWE Twitter accounts. (wwe.com)

John Cena earned a few hundred 100 IWC points if that is legit. Good for him for speaking his mind, also you know Vince isn't going to fire him either. Its good for people in John's position to do something like this instead of about worrying about their spots or how many rookies need to genuflect in their presence.

Cena's Twitter is an odd blend of reality and kayfabe. Even in his missive he writes about how Danielson's big moment came at his expense, as if Danielson actually attacked him and spat in his face. So I'm still not sure what to believe.

I'd guess he's actually fired since there's no logical reason why WWE would want to totally shift the focus after all the buzz about the NXT attack last week.

Cena supposedly also went to bat for Evan Bourne recently.

Speaking of updated tweets...Bryan Danielson's latest offering:

Biding my time, waiting for the right moment to speak.

Hopefully with Cena behind him, his release will be very shortlived.

Cena's usually known as a thorough professional and big-time company man. Given that, this could be one of two options:
1. He feels really strongly about this.
2. He's doing what he does best, being a compaby man, forwarding the story.

With due respect to Cena the man, it seems far-fetched that he's become outspoken all of a sudden.

I smell a rat. Who's to say that John Cena didn't blow the whistle to get him fired? I mean...he got spit on, right? Yeah, being destroyed was part of the angle, but I bet nowhere on the booking sheets was spitting involved.

I've seen this time and time again: John's being a "super nice guy" and being really supportive, but all in all, it could be his fault that Bryan's gone. But hey, whatever lets him sleep, right?

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army National Guard! Job well done in Iraq!

[Originally posted by Lords of Pain, with info from F4WOnline]- John Cena's Tweets regarding Daniel Bryan have caused a lot of speculation, mainly that Cena addressing the release on Twitter makes it feel much more like an angle and not a legit departure.

WWE's whole idea behind putting Cena on Twitter was to push storylines and his character. It's no secret that WWE officials want their talents to use Twitter as a way to push what's on TV.

As noted before, some within the company have been feeling like Bryan's release is an angle and with Cena's new comments, that feeling among some is stronger than before.

So Cena's Twitter is allegedly a work. Hmmm...

John Cena's Twitter isn't a work, but what he does try to get over storylines on his twitter.

In Meltzer's latest audio update, there was a twenty minute discussion that essentially boils down to used2bcool's post - Cena is a total company guy and it doesn't fit him to be publicly outspoken against the company.

Meltzer doesn't seem to have any special information the rest of do not at this point, he's looking out the window and guessing at the weather like the rest of us. If anything, the lack of that evidence (no one knows who this outside person is, which could make sense if there is no outside person) is why he now thinks it's a work. At this point everyone believes something or other, but no one seems to *know*.

So do we find out for sure one way or the other tonight? Obviously if he shows up with the rest of the rooks, it's a work. But what about the opposite? If the NXTWO shows up sans DB/BD, does that mean it's legit? Or would you not put it past the WWE to hold him out a week or two so as to make his eventually return all the more surprising?

I'm afraid it will remind me more of the Kool-Aid Man. And Shockmaster. And Woody Allen's "Purple Rose of Cairo." It's not a bad idea, but the execution of it could be tricky. I'd rather see him use Gangrel's Raising Ring of Fire.
