L,o,l, you just feel your territory of making grand hyperbolic statements has been infringed upon.
Niemi was great. Leighton wasn't really tested and gave up a crushing goal. I was making a sweetass joke about an undrafted goalie and a near-career minor leaguer playing in the Finals, but if they are the worst, it isn't really the kind of thing that can be assessed on a game to game basis. First we have to wait the two years until Leighton washes back out of the league and Niemi is a backup again to go back and say, wow, they were in the Finals. I stand by my no research.
If the Flyers want to keep the faith by thinking they outplayed Chicago in both games, they might be right. I hope Chicago grabs one of two and shuts this down. Just two more pucks for Pronger to steal.
Well it's 2010, we can look back later on and judge them accordingly, but right now, they're not the worst. Go look at some goaltenders that played in the Cup.. 2006 is right there.

Flyers are doomed, they should have won one of these two games.
It looks bleak, but they lost 2 winnable games...on the road. Home ice may just carry them back in the next 2. They lose one of the next 2 though, then they're probably cooked.
Read an article earlier about people being upset about it. I don't see why. It;s not an insult to women's hockey. It's just poking fun at the biggest Flyers target available.
Listen. It feels even better if you lose the first time (and don't wear a condom). But congratulations to the CHI BH, I know all about having a franchise in shambles and then a team, fanbase, and city being totally revitalized by drafting some great young players. It's pretty great.
I'm really happy for the Big Hoss too, even if it would've been way better if he'd buried his shot with 30 seconds left.
And as the coda on our subplot, okay, I feel good saying it. This was the aggregate of the worst two goalies in the history of the Finals, in my lifetime at least. That last goal, Leights, oh geez. But Niemi made the gargantuan one on Carter at the end, thank god for him. Niemi could end up being okay going forward but I think it would be very good for the East if Philadelphia thinks they've finally found their goalie.
Thank God The Blackhawks won. As a Ranger-Mets fan I gotta say if The Flyers won The Cup it would have been worse than when The Phils won the World Series two years ago. Kane was awesome during and after the game when Pierre Mcguire said behave at the parade and he said not a chance and later said the ladies are gonna love me tonight. Wonder if Roenick would have cried if The Flyers won the Cup. He played for them too. I wish Rocky Wirtz would buy one of my teams. Niemi is gonna go down as The Worst starting Goalie to win the Cup. Hope Leighton is The Flyers starting Goalie next year. Never get tired of Bettman getting booed.
Technically, I think they were booing Bettman. But I did love the ceremony being moved from center ice to behind the net to guard against potential flying garbage.
I think we can all agree that the Stanley Cup is the greatest single team reward in all of sports. It's got the longest history in North American sports, and it is held in a great bit of esteem.
That alone should warrant respect from the Philly fans. Bettman or no Bettman.

No, really, come on. Bettman getting booed is hilarious and in no way reflective of the reverence in which the Stanley Cup is held. (This has happened before in other cities, by the way.)
Thats ten times more classy than the Philly fans booing during the Con Smythe and Stanley Cup presentations.
I disagree, why should they be happy another team just beat their team for a championship? I would be proud if the Blues made it to the finals (lord willing it has been a LONG time since that happened), but I would not be very happy seeing that trophy awarded to someone else. Maybe its my hatred for Chicago that is fueling my answer, but this is why rivalries are now dead. Everyone feels they should play nice. They have every right to boo the team that beat them in the championship.....that being said they were probably booing Bettman it literally happens every year.

Bettman got booed in Pittsburgh after he helped save that franchise. The fans don't respect him due to a number of things being hobbit size is one of them, but some fans have long memories of the strike debacle which only recently have they come out of the clear on. Its no different then Selig or Goodall. Goodall is brand new to the system, he doesn't get booed that often plus I think the fans/players respect him for some of his tough decisions. Now, if they feel that way of no football in 2011, we shall see. Selig just looks and acts like the tired old uncle who remembers back in the day everything was swell, so why change things. He perfectly fits baseball.
