Most random parody of Good Will Hunting or the first one in recorded history not to include "how about them apples" or "see about a girl"? I dunno, they had me when Troy just pocketed the chalk.
Sure felt like this should be the last episode of the season but apparently there's another one next week, hooray.
They really took the piss out of Good Will Hunting. Fantastic. And shockingly, no one hugged Annie and whispered "It's not your fault!" over and over.
The joke of the nature sounds - "And here come the crickets!" - amazing.
It was nice to see Jeff in command of The Group again. "Does anyone know how to study?"
I thought the paint gun war would have been the ideal season finale, but there was still work to be done to set up season 2. Anthropology in place of Spanish class. Senor Chang joining them as a student.
I also feel the same way about Avatar as Britta and know when to shut up when everyone else in the world voices how much they love it in unison.
I would have to say Community had the best season one of a sitcom I've personally ever seen.

That is 100% true. I can not think of any other sitcom first year that hit on all cyclinders all season like Community. A must own season when it comes out in DVD.

I think Arrested Development season 1 is the best season of any show ever. But other than that, Community may well be it. It's really remarkable how much both Community and Parks & R, in their first and tantamount to first seasons, have grown since September. Not only in terms of developing and fleshing out a bunch of interconnected character dynamics and relationships -- for big ensemble casts with 7 regulars each -- but they've grown Greendale and Pawnee into their own distinct worlds.

I love them equally for different reasons.
It's weird that there's been no Modern Family discussion here except for in Community threads. I suppose I could have done something about that. Maybe for the season finale.
What was that moment at the end all about with Annie saying she was going for a professor look and Jeff responding with "What?!" Was that more fodder for the Jeff/Annie shippers?

I'm going to go with the one real relationship that Jeff has had. He dated a professor for an episode and a half or so. From the one with the dance scene. Annie thinks this is the way to Jeff's heart.
Then again, I don't write tv shows. Probably for a reason.

Ha, I haven't heard the word "shippers" used since the days of Harry Potter, Ron, Hermione and Ginny.
As for the show, I still think that Community had some pretty blase episodes early in the season, so I wouldn't put it above shows like Arrested Development. That being said, the show has recently been terrific and they have peaked at the right time.

I watched the original pilot (with a different girl), so I'm not sure how much it changed, but I loved it. Sock pretty much killed me every time he was on screen, with his use of the leaf blower being the highlight of the episode.
