He could easily have altered "99 Problems" even more to where they wouldn't have even had to "bleep" him. Strong stuff.

Edit: And thinking on it further, it could be a two-fer with him and Beyonce assisting. Wouldn't shock me at all to see it happen, maybe the next time NBC has it.

I thought they only chose over the hill rock acts to do the Super Bowl, to avoid any of them younger, hipper acts who tend to whip their nipple out in front of a trillion viewers. Or did The Who's sad effort this year make the NFL change their mind?

It's been said, but it bear repeating. This Mr. Hudson had terrible vocals, possibly the worst I've heard on SNL since Counting Crows in like 93. Listening to him mangle the first line of the chorus each and every time became perversely entertaining after a while. I will still glad that they didn't do the entire song. The first medley from Jay-Z was really good.

Betty White was great, and the skits were mostly funny. I would have exchanged the Manuel Ortiz Show skit with the Debbie Downer sketch. The line about oil and seabirds in the Downer sketch made me laugh more than anything on the show itself.

I enjoyed Betty White a great deal, especially during the monologue, the Digital Short and the Muffin sketch. CSI: Sasrasota was also pretty entertaining. Older she may be, but she seemed a lot less lost doing the show than a lot of recent hosts have (Charles Barkley, I'm looking at you...).

Television Without Pity had a brief feature on other old ladies who should host the show. It shouldn't be a cavalcade, but someone mentioned Carol Burnett. Now -THAT- I could get behind. Throw in a Tim Conway or Vicki Laurence cameo. Have Kristen Wiig play Mama in a Mama's family sketch. Would the kids watching get it? Nope. And I don't care. They didn't get the Parrot sketch when Cleese hosted years ago either...

Ironically enough, the Sir Charles episode (in addition to Zach G's) was one of my favorites of the season for that very reason. I have yet to see the Betty White ep.

Because she's funny and until this current cast was hands down the hottest SNL chick ever?

I liked this episode a lot, and at least most of the recurring sketches were the good ones. Wiig seemed to disappear for a lot of it (save the opener which was one of the exceptions to the rule in my last sentence) so yay for that.

Is there a Lake Placid 3? Someone get Joss Whedon on that. Or put White in MacGruber 2. "It's called micropenis" had me laughing pretty hard.

And it's been said before but it bears repeating: WIZARD OF ASS!

My thoughts exactly. JLD will always be #1. And although it was only one season, Janeane Garofolo is on my short list too!

As awesome and funny as those three are I believe you're suffering from what Adam Carolla calls "80s Hot".

EDIT~! I meant to say "attractive & funny" my bad. I honestly thought Tina Fey would be the one with the most defenders.

Then you and your Maya Rudolph pick must be suffering from what *I* call "Not Hot." =-p

To be fair, Julia Louis-Dreyfus got much, MUCH hotter post-SNL and even post-Seinfeld. That doesn't mean she wasn't hot back in her SNL days though, big 80s hair and all. Victoria Jackson I make no apologies for, though. VJ in her SNL days would be hot in any decade. Her only problem is that post-SNL she pretty much let herself go. Cheri Oteri had nothing to do with the 80s, so I'm going to assume that remark was referring to JLD and VJ only.

And while we're on the subject, on the binary scale Maya Rudolph is a borderline 1. In fact I believe she's what my friends and I used to call "benchmark" back in college; as in, less hot than her is definitely a 0, and more hot than her is definitely a 1. IMHO the only reason she was even on the show for so long was due to her being a virtual race chameleon, sort of like the female version of Fred Armisen.

I thought Jan Hooks was pretty hot back in her day. Not so much now.

Yeah, seeing Jan Hooks on '30 Rock' has been scary. I actually think Wiig has a case for being the best-looking SNL lady, though Jane Curtin was surprisingly good-looking back in the day. I was used to her as the middle-aged, kinda frumpy professor on 'Third Rock From The Sun,' but back in the 70's she was throwing some heat.

My long-standing crush on the star of a certain, recently cancelled Comedy Central sitcom began with her short stint on SNL from '93-'94.

That said, I am a big fan of Big Bad's icon.

Also, the Jay-Z/Beyonce Super Bowl pairing has been thrown around as a Future Halftime Show in the past few months, especially as the NFL runs out of Safe Classic Rockers.

A fan of Adam Carolla and Maya Rudolph? We must be brothers in taste.

How the hell do they wind up with FOUR dress rehearsal sketches not making the final show? Was that poor planning or typical?

In the Census sketch I finally noticed Tina Fey's famous scar.
They must do a good job hiding it most of the time and shoot her from the "good side" more often.

I've been watching SNL from the very beginning and the only cast members of SNL I've ever had a soft crush on were Cheri Oteri and Kristen Wiig.

Typical - although putting ALL/most of them on Hulu is quite atypical...but becoming more typical!

From what I understand dress rehearsal is an event in and of itself. Getting a ticket to the actual show is damn near impossible so a lot of people settle for getting a ticket to dress rehearsal (yes, they give out tickets to that too). But even that isn't exactly an easy ticket to score.

So since you get to see more skits, wouldn't dress rehearsal be somewhat of a better get? I mean, you wouldn't be really at Saturday Night 'Live,' but still, you get to see all the material.

Yeah, I assume it's the "cool factor" of being on the real SNL broadcast that makes it the better ticket.

I don't know much else about the dress rehearsals though, maybe skits in dress rehearsal aren't always as well-executed as they look in some of the Hulu clips Z has posted here? Or maybe people have something better to do during dress rehearsal time (I think they're late afternoon/early evening/dinner time)? And let's not forget more skits may not necessarily be a good thing if there are some giant stinkers in the bunch.

Or it could even just be the simple fact that not everyone would even know to LOOK for tickets for a dress rehearsal, so those tickets therefore are easier to get.

I know they film the dress rehearsal as "back-up" in case something goes wrong or somebody swears during the live show they can use it for re-runs.
I've done the studio tour and I know their space is limited. They don't even keep any sets there, but truck them in New Jersey or Brooklyn as they need them.
Seems after 35 years, they'd have it down better and not have four sketches that have to be cut. That makes it even more impressive how many lines Betty White had to learn.

I'm going to go with the one real relationship that Jeff has had. He dated a professor for an episode and a half or so. From the one with the dance scene. Annie thinks this is the way to Jeff's heart. Then again, I don't write tv shows.
