My lovely wife brought home two home pregnancy tests which were two different brands (she wanted to be thorough) and BOTH tests came up POSITIVE. We're meeting up with her family doctor on Friday but really; what are the odds of TWO false positives on two different take-home tests?
I'M A DAD! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Might be a December baby!
You know, I really don't know what to put here. Close your eyes and thank of something funny!
Congrats on el nino (or la nina, whatever the case may be).
I can't speak for the rest of the dads out there, but in my experience, those tests are DEAD ON.
Now is when all kinds of people come out of the woodwork to offer new-parent advice. My advice is this: don't take anyone's advice. Only if that person is a parent and their kids turned out ok do you even bother to listen to what they say.
May the sleepness nights be few and the fingers/toes number ten.

Words to live by, right there. I wish my wife hadnt wasted her time with all of those "How to be a parent" books either. Total waste of time. All babies are different, so when you have questions, get a wide range of opinions from as many parents as you can. Doing that helped us out tremendously.
Congrats. Whatever you do don't listen to any of the horror stories about childbirth or how it's a piece of cake. Just go with the flow and the hormones.
I remember those days. Very cool. You have an exciting 7 months ahead of you, and then about 20 years after that. My only advice? get as much sleep as you possibly can in the time just before the baby is born. That first week home was - crazy.
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

Thank you everybody! We're trying not to tell too many people right now because it's only been a month.....I gotta say we'd both be devastated if something bad happened. But I mean....I've all been a part of this board for a several years now (apparently I registered here in 2002). So I guess I wanted to let y'all know about it. I certainly appreciate all the advice!
So far she's SUPER TIRED a lot and a bit nauseous. No morning sickness yet though. And she's not looking forward to the lack of caffeine.
We even have the names picked out already. If it's a boy his name will be Desmond, after my Grandpa. If it's a girl we're going to name her Faustina (after Saint Faustina).

Congrats! Good luck with the morning sickness. All the feelings that you are going to go through over the next 7 - 8 months are going to be worth the moment that the child is born.
Oh, and don't worry about it too much, you are going to mess up during the pregnancy. Pick your battles, even when you are rational, you aren't going to feel like a winner in the end. I learned this the hard way with my first one. The second one was pretty smooth sailing. Just smile and be supportive!
Many, many congratulations. I have 4 of my own and while I love them all dearly, the first pregnancy is/was the most exciting. Enjoy this time and pamper your wife/mom to be. I would also djp and say please do not listen to anyone at all with their advice about kids. All kids are different and no parent is perfect. The decisions I made with my first are different than those made with my fourth. Also, do NOT tell anyone the names you are planning on. EVERYONE has an opinion on names and most have no problem telling you what they think of yours. My wife and I liked Jane very much until peopel kept saying she will be called "Plain Jane" so much, we lost interest. Keep it to your selves and announce it at the hospital after the birth.
Or maybe if there ever is a show called "America's Funniest Convenience Store Security Cam Video's" A friend of mine sent this to me, so here's the setup..... Hooded winter jacket with large inside pocket to conceal identity and carry gun:...
