Last night's Raw was alright. Of course Daniel Bryan is going to lose and John Cena has to win with a better time via the STF (Wade Barrett lasted about a second longer than Jericho normally does in that submission).

It was funny to me where Jericho used the excuse of not fighting Cena because of his countless wins and dominance over Cena though Cena seemingly wins without effort and Jericho taps out quicker than anyone in the STF, all though everyone normally taps out pretty quickly.

The DiBiase and Morrison match was good considering the length it was. I did enjoy the 360 springboard clothesline to the outside by Morrison (at least at looked like a clothesline after Morrison landed).

The tag match was horrible; Regal tapped out before the Sharpshooter was fully applied which is one of those things that simply urks me. However the combination of Jericho and Miz was good on the commentary and the idea of Jericho and Miz teaming together? I like it quite a bit. Both have a good in-ring skills and both are gold on the mic. This is a pair that seems that would fit together pretty well.

The Cutting Edge re-enters Raw for what is said for the first time in three and half years. Wayne Brady coming out and doing some impressions were kind-of amusing. When Orton came out, it looked like Wayne Brady was trying to immitate Orton's look which is why I thought Orton flat out nailed Wayne Brady with the RK0 (which he sold nicely by the way). Maybe Brady was going to try to shake hands with Orton and I just didn't catch it.

Nice timing by Orton with the RKO when Edge went for the spear.

I would also like to state that it never gets dull for me to hear Jericho blast the commentators every time that Wade Barrett is in the ring (it sure as heck a lot more amusing than Santino is now-a-days).

I'm surprised to see WWE take the high road and not have DiBiase try to acquire Brady as his new Virgil. Jury's out on whether Flav is safe next week. I think the angle has a ton of potential though. Maybe that's why they're keeping Henry on Raw, to be the eventual new Virgil? They could always wait until NXT is over and offer the role to Tarver. He'd be a lot of fun in that role. That's if they decide to go with a black guy, which I think they'd be smart to avoid.

Jericho and Miz being together is so surreal to me, just based on their Twitter feud from a few months back. Maybe once this is all done, they'll finally get to have the in-ring version of that. That would require turning one of them face, though, and I don't think they're ready to lose either as heels yet.

I love how they broke the fourth wall with Eve Torres by acknowledging that there was a photographer doing a photoshoot with her, and yet he didn't seem to notice that Maryse had stolen the title belt RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. Or maybe he *did* notice, and it was a photographer heel turn?! Next week, he'll blackmail one of the divas by threatening to not airbrush one of their pics for the website, and then bring in Awesome Kong to squash all the divas who are concerned about their looks, ending with Kong turning face and beating Maryse for her stolen belt and then in a SWERVE, he'll reveal that he and Eve set the belt there *knowing* that it would be stolen and that it's not the real belt and Eve is still champion and the new top heel. OMG, I called it here first!

With the deep roster Raw has now, Zack frickin' RYDER is getting airtime? I'm all for seeing some of the midcard guys get the spotlight, but ugh... Now, his theme music will be stuck in my head for the rest of the week.

Batista and Bryan was really fun to watch. An extended program with them is impossible at this point, but seeing Batista feud with somebody similar to him could be awesome. Just the dynamic of his brute and somebody bouncing around twisting at his limbs made for the most entertaining Batista match I've seen in forever.

So has Michael Cole given up on verbally abusing Daniel Bryan now? He was practically fellating him on commentary last night, but was it just because he had to put the storyline over (and lord knows King isn't the guy to go to for that) and it was Raw, not NXT? Or was it just a one-time continuity lapse and will he go back to berating him tonight?

Decent show overall, but I can't really say the draft changed too much for Raw. Jericho was on Raw almost as much as Smackdown for the past few months as it is, the Hart Dynasty is able to be on both shows, and Edge and Morrison are really the only guys that are making an immediate impact who weren't on the brand two weeks ago.

I was 100% expecting a run-in by ANYBODY to keep Cena from beating the clock. I'm actually kind of disappointed it didn't happen.

If you would've told me four months ago that RAW would've opened with a Batista/Sheamus promo and it would've been AWESOME, I wouldn't have believed it.

I like Orton, but I am TIRED of the "Viper" nonsense.

So, Orton now is the new Stone Cold?

And isn't Wade Barret supposed to have his own theme song by now? I mean he won that damn challenge.

Other than that: Bryan finally looked kind of good, but still hasn't won a match (and he didn't make Batista tap, like he said he would - therefore he still is nothing more than a joke artist).

Last, not least: Jericho/Miz will indeed be AWESOME!

You think you're impatient for Wade Barrett's theme? Try being Wade Barrett:

Done. I threw my strongest support behind ChrisMiz because it's fantastic, but also because I, um, don't get Y Came 2 J...
EDIT: My Twitter machine brethren were nice enough to explain the joke to me.

I was really hoping that because of their mutual hatred of Cena that The Miz would just lie down (like the fingerpoke of doom) and make Cena beat a 3-5 second win.

Another good, but subtle, sign that this Randy Orton push is actually working: The fans went mid-chant from cheering for a finisher (R-K-O) to cheering for the man (Ran-Dy).

Godspeed, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, Wisconsin Army National Guard! Victory in Iraq!

Wayne Brady had 4 excellent moments:
* The "Go, go, go, go...(closes curtain) GONE" bit w/ Jillian.
* To Santino: "There's about a million reasons why neither you nor I could be on 'The Brady Bunch,' and they all start with 'not white.'"
* "Forget Bob Barker, I'm Bob DARKER." Promo of the night!
* Took and sold the RKO better than half the roster.

But it KILLED me that we didn't get one lousy "Whose Line is it Anyway?" reference. Or a "Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a (insert replacement for 'b*tch' here)?"

(And they didn't once promote his syndicated "Let's Make a Deal" game show, did they?)

'Y Came 2 J' is just Miz's theme song with a different name. I like it. All the names mentioned have been terrific, good work fellahs.

Good RAW. Between 'I have an entirely different flimsy excuse..' and Jericho/Miz doing commentary, lots of funny moments, and the wrestling was decent enough I suppose. No real big matches in the long run, but Batista/Bryan was really quite decent surprisingly enough.

One minor complaint is I wish they'd have saved the spear to RKO spot for the inevitable PPV match, it'd have been a real good near fall or possible finish, but now it won't be as cool when it happens. Kind of like the Super RKO Randy did to Rey on a Smackdown.

Bryan showed good fight here; unfortunately, he showed great selling ability that will probably make WWE want to put the big guys over him (a la Evan Bourne) when he makes it to the main roster.

So him losing to big guys (that are good matches) would be bad why? What should they do with him?

My god, if they got the lead singer of Kevin Dunn's favorite shitty nu metal band du jour to come back to Jim Johnston Studios to dub in vocals of Miz's song that yelled "Y CAME 2 J," I would feel like I've accomplished all there is to accomplish in this business.

"Long Island Iced Z" is a pretty great nickname. I may be alone in thinking that Ryder still has untapped potential. At least "his only goal in WWE is to pick up chicks" is a more distinct character trait than being another generic cocky heel.

I'm saying as opposed to actually pushing him as a credible wrestler, just throwing him out there as fodder for big men to squash. I don't have a problem with how they worked it on Raw, but if he does get a contract, I would hope they'd give him more upward mobility than "(insert monster) squashes Bryan to assert dominance during feud with (insert top babyface)."

Youre not the only one who thinks there is not only a solid mid-card gimmick there, but a decent wrestler too. His matches with Christian on ECW were good and it seemed like they were going to give him a push right before the wheels fell off of the whole thing.

Just think, he was doing the Jersey Shore months before the Jersey Shore aired to all of that press. Hell, he has even tweeted a few times to "The Situation" about who has better abs.

Regardless, his squash served no purpose whatsoever.

If they want to complete the Rhodes/DiBiase circle, Dustin should play the role of Virgil. He could take it to a new level, and it would eliminate the messy racial elements that don't need to be raised in an election year.
