A lot has changed in 6 years apparently, including my own feelings about Goldberg. Never been much of a fan, but I was impressed with his gregarious nature in the WCW DVD WWE put out. He came off as a bright, swell guy, different from the surly uber-jock he always seemed to be over the years. He continues to come off like a swell guy on the Celebrity Apprentice.
Frankly, Goldberg would be a shot in the arm at the top of the card in WWE. If he can still deliver. If he's even motivated to be a top guy in WWE and all that entails. He's still a megastar from the Attitude era and anyone he would wrestle - including Triple H - would seem like a fresh match up.
Put him on Raw, keep him the fuck away from Hunter, and I'm OK with this. Even if WWE shattered his well built aura of invincibility, he was ALWAYS over, I can't think of a shitty match he was in (assume the triple cage debacles never happened for the sake of the arguement), and some new blood on the top of the card is always a good thing. (See Sheamus, even if he only had a can of Guinness with the WWE title.)
Something I've always wondered: If he and Brock hadn't both left after WM20, who goes over in their match? I think Brock has to win, just to get back in the hunt for the WWE title he lost to Eddie.
Could he be negotiating about a HOF induction for next year in Atlanta? Since Goldberg is no spring chicken, age-wise. And he wasn't even very motivated back in his prime, so how good could he be in the ring now?

I still would love to see Goldberg vs. Undertaker!!!
And a Goldberg-DVD (as well as a HOF induction) would be nice as well.
Edit:
From gerweck:
To follow up the story about Bill Goldberg stating on Twitter that he is negotiations with WWE, the Wrestling Observer reports that the former champion was contacted by WWE awhile back with an offer for an affiliation, but not to return to the ring. The potential agreement would include merchandising on a legends contract type level, but on a larger scale. WWE wants to use Goldberg's likeness for video games.

The match would be bloody awful, but I don't doubt for a second it would sell millions for next year's Wrestlemania.
That's assuming Goldberg lasts until then, of course. I don't remember him lighting the world on fire last time he was in the E. I actually wonder if WWE's just signing him to keep him away from TNA?

I don't know about that. Taker seems to have developed this weird chemistry against big guys - remember his stuff against Batista, and even Festus to a lesser degree.

Yes! I hope he comes back. I'd love to see him return.

The Invinci-Goldberg was a WCW creation, and you know Vince rarely used any ideas from former groups. I liked how he was booked during his tenure with WWE - he was a big, tough guy, who could destroy the world, but he WASN'T invincible. It worked for me.
Oh, and I think he and Rey Mysterio could be a fun match. Rey seems to be excellent in matches against big men, too.
The contract is going to be used for merchandising for a Goldberg DVD, Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 and maybe the Hall of Fame. I would dispute he should be in the hall, but after the weak ass group this year, I am ok with it. Koko B. Ware killed an legitimacy for that thing anyway. I can see him guest hosting a Raw, spearing Batista and never see him again til the HOF in 2011. Goldberg should have gone over at SummerSlam 2003 when he destroyed everyone and the fans went insane for him. No, they did it a month later in an ok match with HHH. I was there live and there was little or no heat for him due to the HHH's promos. WWE started their bad habit of not striking while the iron hot.
I can see him being in the Hall of Fame in maybe 5 to 10 years, but if he goes in before the Road Warriors or Arn Anderson, then there's just something not right.

I'll grant you your Road Warriors, but there are plenty of arguments that can be made that would put Goldberg above Arn Anderson for a HoF candidacy.

I've also heard possibly-true rumblings of a strong WCW focus for next year's Atlanta-based WWE Hall of Fame. I would also have no issue if Goldberg were to be inducted as part of a WCW class of 2011. He was the last (and arguably only) WCW megastar creation.
On the subject of a WCW HOF class, yet one more reason Ric Flair's presence in TNA annoys the living shit out of me is WWE (and Arn) needs him to induct Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard in the Hall of Fame next year. Any and all of the best crop of the Four Horsemen (including JJ Dillon and Barry Windham) being inducted without Ric Flair's presence would be ridiculous.
And then there's the Sting issue. A WCW Hall of Fame class without Sting...?
Flair has a certain amount of dates for his TNA contract and it won't shock me to see him at the WCW HOF next year. I expect he will convince Sting to attend as a one night only deal and no show Mania like Bret did.

I'm in favor of stable inductions. And the first stable should be the Horsemen. They are the '72 Dolphins of wrestling.
The NWO made more money, I'm sure (in the same way Austin outsold Hogan), but the Horsemen set THE standard for stables for the past 20 years.

I'd like to see Goldberg in the HOF next year. Interesting inductions are better than boring ones like this year's, although to be fair they tried to make Ultimate Warrior the main eventer. It would be weird to watch a class of Goldberg, Arn, the Steiners, Luger, Ron Simmons, Dean Malenko, and Missy Hyatt.

It would be closer to the way Hogan outsold Flair.

Well, they'd always known that Goldberg would be finishing up at Wrestlemania since he signed a one-year contract with the intention of just working that one year, so the idea from the onset was that Lesnar would win. But once Brock was leaving too, it didn't matter so they just put the face over.

I just watched that match! It was really cool. Until the end when it really wasn't. That four-month Kevin Nash WWE main event run seems so anachronistic.
From @TheRealGoldberg, the answer to the main question on people's minds:
@therealgoldberg Q #1 Is it out of the question for me to have 1 more match? Answer is no...my son has never seen me wrestle and I'd love to see his reaction
There we are. If all goes well with WWE, at least one match is likely. I would have to guess Cena or Batista would be the natural opponent. Of the two, Batista is my pick.

BILL VS. DAVE
That sounds like a train wreck. Batista is only as good as his opponent, and Goldberg never seemed to carry a match. Dave's matches against Rey involved lots of ringside spots and Rey literally bouncing off him.
Seems like they could bring him in to guest host and insert himself into a RAW tag match. If the match works well and the crowd reaction is hot, then he could build to a PPV bout. Worked for Steamboat.

Goldberg up until the cattle prod was a lot of fun. Maybe it was the way the fans would just chant his name and flip out as soon as he hit the spear. His match vs Raven for the US Title was probably my favorite Goldberg match.
I know they had to give him the World Title, but once that happened he had to do more in the ring, and he had to start selling and he had to main event and then he became over exposed and then the bubble kind of just burst.
I wouldn't mind seeing him again, but more as a special attraction like the Undertaker was for years. I'd like to just see guys like The Miz or Jack Swagger make a big thing out of fighting him and then just see them get wiped.
He's a one trick pony, but that one trick was pretty great.
