I saw this online yesterday and noticed saw this wasn't on here, so I googled it and found this quaint Hoff website that had the news on it:
--------------------------------------------------------
http://www.dhasselhoff.net/blog/?p=1170

WWE announced this afternoon that entertainment star David Hasselhoff will guest host the April 12 Raw, which will be taped in London.

When Raw hops the pond and crashes London a week after WrestleMania, David Hasselhoff promises to host a jolly, good show. An accomplished actor and international singing sensation, ”The Hoff” will take a break from his European tour to belt out the praises of WWE.
--------------------------------------------------------

He needs to come out to the Knight Rider theme and KITT's red eyebeam bouncing back and forth on the TitanTron, complete with the "WOO-whooooo....." sound.
On the downside, you know this will lead to a Diva's Lifeguard match, with Santino prancing out in a speedo, trying to save them all, (with Hornswoggle right behind him with those little kids arm-blow-up-floatie-thingys.)

Huh, I thought RAW was done with guest hosts after WrestleMania.

In any case, I hope he shows up drunk.

Nice to see Hoff is around to host, assumedly because all English professional sports stars are terrible public speakers, and the only other British celebrities known in America would never agree to host RAW.

Hoff as the guest host will either do really good or really bad (I don't think there is a middle).

Apparently, they've got quite a lot more on tap... A quick search led me to info that Pete Rose is hosting March 22, the cast of Hot Tub Time Machine on March 29, Hasselhoff on April 12, then Will Forte, Kristin Wiig, & Ryan Phillippe on April 19. That leaves an open week in there on April 5. The draft maybe?

Either way, the guest host thing must be doing its job with ratings and publicity, as I'm pretty sure most of the actual wrestling fans would rather do without them. To me, I see it as almost a lack of faith in their own product. They don't have any huge running angle in place that locks people into tuning in weekly on its own merits, so they just want to pull in as many casual viewers as possible to make up the difference. They won't really know if it's made a difference in viewership until they pull the plug.

Does anybody know what the numbers were like pre-guest hosts compared to now? And have the demographics changed along with it?

Bellas in Baywatch costumes, hanging on his arm, Jillian Hall all "you're a singer? meee toooo" then Hornswoggle bites him on the shin or something.

Three matches, 5:07 minutes of wrestling.

I was kinda thinking Hoff would be in his office and Hornswoggle would bring him a cheeseburger and leave it on the floor.

They absolutely have to get Mel Kiper for the draft.

After each pick he can break down the strengths and weaknesses of each wrestler as they show video footage of him/her in the ring. He could also praise or bash the pick.

Just have him act like the know-it-all he is during the NFL draft.

The one thing I like about the guest hosts is they keep the shows from blurring together. I'm more likely to remember the William Shatner episode or Jeremy Piven episode or Springer, etc. than "the one where Orton gets mad at a Legacy member" or "the one where there's tension among DX" or "the one where Cena gets put in a handicap match and somehow defies the odds - or doesn't".

With only a set number of Superstars per show, there's only so many combinations and match-ups you can do before they really become a blur.

Say what you want about the Attitude Era, but years later I can remember the episode where Austin threw the title off a bridge, or the Kurt Angle milk truck one, or Undertaker kidnapped Stephanie, or Foley visited Vince in the hospital.

I would be the only person on Earth who would enjoy Kenan Thompson hosting RAW and doing nothing but What Up Wit Dat? in between matches. (He could also dress up as Shelton Benjamin's Mama.)

ROFL. That would rock. Or pretend to be Reba.

There are so many options if they could get SNL characters (yes, from the current show) to host.
But I doubt that would happen. From the top of my head

*Mystery person attacks someone backstage? Gillieeeee!
*Women's match? The guys from ESPN classic
* Kenan's talkshow would only work if Sudekis gets to dance with R-Truth and leave him in his dust.

As for Hasselhoff, yeah, no matter what, all of his segments will be planned trainwrecks with knightrider, baywatch jokes. Santino will probably think he was in the A-team.

lately the guest host thing has kinda gotten boring.
Where at first they were really a part of the show, interfered with the proceedings and made matches, lately they just do their skits and that's about it.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that the Road to Wrestlemania is pretty much set anyways, but it's a shame.
Pete Rose has some potential since he doesnt mind getting cheap heat in the ring, and you gotta assume the audience knows him.

And when they show his WWE segments the next day on SportsCenter, they have to be intro'd by Jonathan Coachman.
