Well, with the amount it costs to order a PPV, my desire to plop my money down is directly relative to how excited I am for the match-ups. And it may seem extreme, but that snore of a Raw killed any interest I had in most of them. If I had to pick between Destination X and Wrestlemania at this point, I'd go with TNA. I don't usually buy PPVs because it's just not in my budget, so this is coming from someone who wouldn't easily part with my money to begin with. But up through last week, I was strongly leaning towards getting it this year. If I'm excited for a big Phillies/Braves game and then they change it to an impromptu home run derby, aren't I justified in not wanting to pay for something that, in my eyes, has decreased in value?

Hahaha, shit just got real.

They didn't change the game, though. They had a bunch of great pre-game shows and then a boring one.

As the Money in the Bank match gets bigger and bigger, I get less interested. Nobody outside of Christian has a legitimate shot at winning, unless they make a huge mistake with the booking.

Punk didn't have a legitimate shot at winning either year that he won. I'm pulling hard for Christian and pulling hard against McIntyre, but there wouldn't be anything bad about Swagger, MVP, or Zig winning it if it was step one in doing something good with them.

I think MVP is toast in the WWE. He never gets a great reaction as a face and he has never really been a heel that you want to boo out of the building. I like him and think there is a role for him somewhere at the top of the card, but he could just be one of those guys who suffers through being a midcarder no matter what. In the 80's guys like him and Shelton Benjamin would have been great tag team wrestlers.

I'm starting to think that this is going to be the first year the MitB winner loses his challenge on the champion.

Mania be $60.00 is going to be a hard pill to swallow with most of my friends bailing out on a party and money being tight as it is. I could see why spending $35 instead of $60 would seem a better bet. Thats what the PPVs are anyway. Its a bet that what you paid is worth what you get out of it.

I also hated JR's comments about how times are tough, yet thanks to supply and demand they have to keep the price up. Vince is going to be make a good chunk of cash regardless of its $50 or $60. Just don't give me this half ass empathy for the working folk or non-working folk who will not purchase the PPV. Vince realizes this is the one PPV people will buy and he charges the hell out of it. Its all business. If the card wasn't deep and I wasn't hosting a party I would go without this year. I should have done that last year, $50 is not worth one match.

Here in the Denver area, we have what I can best describe as a "super" sports bar called Red & Jerry's (redandjerrys.com), which is where I've watched the past two WrestleManias. Tickets go for $15 a pop to watch it at the bar area and $10 to watch it in their theater.

Alas, when you bring food and drinks into the equation, the entire experience can end up as expensive as buying the PPV on your own. In any case, that is where I'll be watching WrestleMania again this year.

But that's part of Batista's heel character. He angrily says "SPOTLIGHT PLEASE" and then he gets it. Dumb, sure, but I like it.

Wow, I guess I am just destined to be in the minority opinion here, but I thought RAW was pretty decent. I liked the Shawn/Taker promo. I kind of hate Undertaker. He seems awfully vindictive. His character has gone from representing some kind of perverse, spirit-world social justice against evildoers to being a vindictive, surly, undead curmudgeon. By his own explanation he wants to end Shawn's career just so Shawn can spend the rest of his life feeling like shit about it. I mean, am I the only one who finds that sort of beyond the pale? I sure hope Taker loses.

The women's match was okay, although that may have been my Eve Torres blindness, since I want her to have my babies and love her awesomely hot face and boobs and bee-hind.

I found Miz underwhelming, but that's been my taste for months now. I know he's a future main eventer and all, according to the INNERNETZ, but he's annoying me in a fast-forward kind of a way. His shot at Luger and Davey Boy struck me as...I dunno, somehow...bizarrely poor taste. Davey's dead and Luger's partially paralyzed. Were these really they two to go after for that lame analogy? Why not the Godwinns? Why not Windham and Rotundo? It wasn't out-and-out offensive, don't get me wrong, but it was kind of head-scratching in a sense of, that was mean-spirited and unfunny for no reason, like a Family Guy joke. Still, Morrison and Truth getting face time worked for me. It was a simple thing, but at least the tag-titles matter again. Thank you, Chris Jericho for saving them and us.

Orton/Legacy is lame and heatless, but it's two guys with no charisma or promo skills versus one guy with merely serviceable charisma and promo skills. Can't expect much.

Wow, Hunter referencing Warrior was something. It was a decent promo but nothing on Earth could make me interested in anything Seamus says or does. The sight of him puts me into "embarrassed to watch wrestling" mode for some reason.

That Gauntlet was alright. On the one hand you can look at it as they kinda buried all those guys not being able to get Cena down, but I thought it was a unique overbooking that did accomplish several good things. For one, people bought Henry not wanting to do what Vince was asking, and two, it made evil dick Batista look even more badass than he already has these past few weeks. I'd like to see Bret and Cena both get some comeuppance next week though, because it's becoming overbearing with the heeldom.

Weren't they regular tag teams and the reference was about two singles stars uniting to get the tag titles, which is what Morrison and Truth just did?

Curmudgeon is a perfectly apt description. He's like the grumpy old man of wrestling. Anything that was fun and fresh about his character and gimmick has long been gone. You know how guys are described as someone you just want to "hang out with and have a beer and shoot the breeze"? He is not that guy. Bring 1994 Undertaker (minus Paul Bearer) into 2010 and it would be hard to tell the difference.

Agreed on Sheamus. He is a goofball. He'd fit in better in the Crush/Doink/Yokozuna/Giant Gonzales era.

Did anyone else hear at the end with Batista in the ring a female voice say "Raise you arms" then Dave raised his arms?
Were we hearing a director talking into his earpiece or something?

Much like Sheamus, the sight of Vince's arms flailing around during his "strut" makes me embarassed to be a wrestling fan.
Speaking of McMahons, we're now getting the Linda campaign ads in Connecticut during Raw, with Stephanie as narrator.

Yeah, those are something else, aren't they? They're trying really hard not to bring up the fact that she runs a wrestling company without making it seem like she's trying to hide the fact that she runs a wrestling company. Well, at the beginning of the last decade, he was telling people to "get out of his yard," so this has been coming for some time, really.

Perhaps they can finally pull the trigger and Undertaker will morph into "Grand Torino-Taker."

Okay, point taken. So, Thurman Sparky Plug and Marty Jannetty then? X-Factor? I just didn't like that selection.

D'Lo Brown and Test won a battle royal to get a tag title match on Wrestlemania XV.

Wrestlemania XIV had a tag team battle royal for a title shot which included such teams as Bradshaw & Chainz, Steve Blackman & Flash Funk, and the world-famous New Midnight Express of Bombastic Bob and Bodacious Bart.

Yeah, I was going to mention that. He should have had his own porch and rocking chair. He would have been the perfect one to tell Steve Austin to "take his ball and go home".
