Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the shocker. Rather than touching down in time for Christmas, it'll actually be here by Memorial Day! Super Mario Galaxy arrives on May 23 in North America.
Sin & Punishment 2 has been renamed Sin & Punishment: Star Successor. It hits on June 7 while Picross 3D will hit the DS on May 3.
More news is incoming, including the release date for Metroid: Other M. Stay tuned!

Well, they ARE showing off the next Zelda at E3.
Which makes me wonder what they're doing for 2011?
If they release Zelda at Christmas there's going to be some sales records that need to be revised.
And for 2011.....I'm thinking a new version of the DS. It's the only way they can top Mario/Metriod/Zelda IN ONE YEAR. And how do you launch a new portable system that will already print money?
You launch the next-gen version of Pokemon to crush your rivals further,

Awesome news about SMG2 and Metroid. Other than playing a little Wii Super Mario recently, I don't think I've used the Wii outside of Wii Fit Plus in months and months. I needed a real reason to jump back in, and SMG2 on May 23 is good enough of a reason.

Awesome news from Nintendo, and it's what they needed to finally get back in the game. I'm WAY excited for Metroid: The Other M, especially since they're supposedly mixing in 2D elements. All they've had to offer this year so far is No More Heroes 2 and... um... Endless Ocean 2? Ha. I've got two theories about why their summer looks like fall. Either:
1. They're chickening out of going up against Gears 3, Halo Reach, Infamous 2, Killzone 3, & Resistance 3, and trying to get their installed base bigger before those hit and everybody asks Santa for a 360 or PS3.
OR
2. They've got something BIG planned to unveil at E3 and take up our fall schedule with other than the announced Zelda. Something to combat the 360/PS3 motion peripherals in a different way? PilotWings and/or Kid Icarus Wii? A true Metroid on the DS?
Nintendo's gone on record saying not to expect a new successor to the Wii anytime soon, but rumors are running wild that they're unleashing a new DS at E3 that will have HD & motion controls. That'd be HUGE, but would they release another handheld so close to the XL? Ah, who am I kidding? They could sell bicycle spokes attached to an SD card, slap on some blinking lights, and it would still sell millions because it's Nintendo.

This actually follows a trend that have followed throughout their portable system development cycle. They re-release upgraded versions of the existing generation two or three times before moving onto the next one.
Nintendo DS Phat < Nintendo DS Lite < Nintnedo DSi < Nintendo DS XL.
Nintendo is due to make the next step up in their portable gaming line, and the timing is great because Sony is apparently "re-launching" their PSP Go, and Apple just announced the iPad.
They made mistakes in the home console market (some would say they still are). But no one should question their tactics in the portable world. The only company that killed the Gameboy Brand was Nintendo themselves, and they did so by making a brand that was even MORE larger than life.
Which brings me to Microsoft. Bill Gates is no dummy. They lost a lot of money on home consoles but stayed in the running. They are, of course, reaping benefits now. But why no handhelds yet? Because they learnt from Sega, Sony, Nokia, and others.
Nintendo is FIERCELY protective of their portable market. They can make comments about Apple's iPad and iPods not mattering.....but they'll still try to destroy them and stomp out Sony at the same time, all while making sure MS doesn't want to start. Which is why I'm thinking soon enough we will get official word of a new portable system from Nintendo. And, like I said, they won't be content with that. They will want to DESTROY their "rivals".
The next generation of Pokemon as a release title. The shortage would be be worse than when the Wii first came out.
