I can't see how HBK can be the one to retire Ric Flair AND end the Undertaker's streak. It does not make sense to have a guy like HBK take that honor - not that he does not deserve it, but HBK does not need it. Now, if it were Edge or Cena, I could see that. Personally, I hope UT retires with his streak intact, whenever that will be.
I am getting psyched for Wrestemania and may even pay for it this time. Maybe.

From what I remember watching 'Behind The Music' and a couple of other interviews, Lauper isn't too fond of her time in the WWF. Not that she hated it, but that she got forced into it by her manager and she didn't really enjoyed it.
This induction is a bit of a surprise to me. I always thought Richter got screwed worse than Bret Hart. At least he got to go to a rival with a significant role still in tact. When Richter got jacked, her mainstream career was basically over.
In my opinion it doesn't matter whether the person who finally ends the streak needs it or not, but Shawn definitely DESERVES it. In fact, I can't think of anyone else who should have the honour to achieve the impossible but Mr. Wrestlemania himself. Seriously, the guy is one of the all time greats, maybe even the best in-ring performer ever, and has always delivered the goods, even without holding a world title in the last 7 1/2 years. So if the plans are for Shawn to go over, then I'd say: GO FOR IT!!!
Michaels/Undertaker was the best setup for a match WWE has done in many a long time. That video package was a masterpiece of packaging videos. Wrestlemania is gonna do a billion buys.
Surprised though that they didn't slip in the clip Michaels nailing Taker with a chair in '97 to cost him that title reign and then Taker's revenge of throwing him off the cage and backdropping him onto the casket.

BASTARD~! You beat me to it. They need to have Cena walk into C&C's office, for Tommy to say "Dave's not here, man......."
Also, no love for Jewel's dig on Miz? "My yodeling would CRUSH you~!", then proceed with a mini-yodel.
No Sheamus, gloating Jericho, UT's ministry cloak (They need to have UT come out every week as every different phase of his character between now & WM), Big Show vs. Bull, all good stuff. The Vinnie Mac close-up was kinda scary. Also, do you think that was Rhodes/DiBiase's plan? Get laid out? Those guys are BRILLIANT~!
I have to say Raw sold me on Mania and which was the point of Raw tonight. I loved the fact we get MITB as well as Orton vs. Legacy in some way. Streak vs. Career made HBK/Taker II interesting which if it was just Shawn trying to beat the Streak would have been fairly boring. I did love Jewel's yodeling comment maybe the best comment by any of the Guest Host. All in all, a really fast paced Raw which is what is needed after a PPV. I didn't like Mayrse with the title again. I understand she would be pissed if Gail stiffed her on purpose if it was an accident let it go, it happens. Mayrse isn't exactly the best person to complain about screws up in the ring.
I guess adding the career vs. streak stipulation spices up the Taker/Michaels rematch, but I still don't see them topping last year's performance. What do people think the odds are that HHH will wiggle his way into that match in an effort to save his buddy's career?
Legacy is in the running for stupidest long-term booking in the history of ever. They continue to snatch boredom from the jaws of interest. Ted's repetitive rant at randy while witing for the slow-burn RKO was awful. These guys don't have the charisma to carry this style of writing. Let them yell at each other through a microphone like the old WCW promos.
Undertaker is employee of the month. It looked like he was holding his arms out to ease the pain on his chest. I'm not keen in another "surly Michaels" angle nor was I wild about seeing him stand still over another superkick victim. BUT, those guys can work the mic when they have to, despite the stupid, %@$# WHAT chants. For the record, I don't want Shawn to win. The Streak is too good to lose, and Shawn's career will be over for only a few months tops.
Did Batista suddenly lose 15 pounds? I enjoy his minimalist booking after watching him expose his moveset against Rey.

Am I a bad wrestling fan for not giving a crap at all about HBK/Taker? I FF'd from the video package all the way through to the end of their segment. No interest at all in these 2.
And did the Batista/Cena segment need to go on that long? I get that their going for overconfident Batista, who feels he can take his time kicking the crap out of Cena, but it felt like it just kept dragging on.
Wow, what a solid RAW. Glad to see the positive things being mentioned for a change, because while predictable, sometimes predictability is good, as we all noted last year when they DIDN'T do the predictable thing at the Rumble with Christian turning on Jeffrey.

Since that makes perfect sense, HBK vs Taker Streak vs Career isn't enough, and HHH's buddy Sheamus already has a match, right? Come off it.

Hard to think of any group with a star like Orton in it being booked worse than Legacy was. They bickered and teased a breakup from almost day one. Orton had DiBiase and Rhodes wrestle a win or your out of Legacy matchjes how many times? It felt like it happened every other week. You also had Sim Snuka and Manu tossed into the pile for a while too. Orton smacked Rhodes around almost as much as Raven used to smack Stevie Richards around. This grouping as badly as it was booked did nothing at all for Rhodes and Dibiase. They came in as bland guys that weren't over and as the group has finally broken up they are still that.

My take on the lack of Cyndi Lauper, which you'd think would be a given if somehow they managed to patch things up with Wendi Richter - I won't believe it until I see her - is that perhaps she IS planned to present at the ceremony, but due to her being on "The Celebrity Apprentice" and their weird stance on practically anything being a spoiler, they just can't announce it yet. Right after she's "you're fired," I'd wager that we hear an announcement about her appearance at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
The real shocker will come when we later learn that IT WAS ALL BROKERED BY MISTER TRUMP.
(DISCLAIMER: I may or may not be serious, depending on if any of this actually happens - mmmmmm that's good weaseling)

Maybe you're just not a fan of awful covers of "Running Up That Hill!" I know it made it awful hard for us to watch. :)

Somehow though, people have really wanted to see Randy beat their asses and really enjoyed it when he did. Which has kind of surprised me; I thought Cody and Ted would need to be the ones to kick Orton out since they didn't have much credibility -- they'd been abused for so long and they were going to abuse him back. Which was basically their plan last night, they just didn't get around to it. I'm pretty sure there will be a big beatdown in the next couple weeks. I think Orton's face turn will get over big but I don't think Ted and Cody are going to step into his void as new bigtime heels.

"My Way or the Highway" was a very shit song as well, but it too made for a Kevin Dunn masterpiece.

I'm pretty sure it was to hide the burns, but it's stillbe pretty cool if theyhad UT come out as one incarnation of his charachter over the years. I posted elswhere that it'd be cool to have JBL and Simmons accompany him to the ring, once, too! Have them slap HBk around a little perhaps? All in time for Kid Rock to make his grand return to WM to reprise AMERICAN BADASS.
I assumed Taker wore that outfit because his jacket was burned to a crisp. But then I remember him wearing the Ministry outfit another time in the last few months.
Good show, and Mania is shaping up nicely. I look forward to Bret getting out of the wheelchair next week after Vince said he would have agreed to a match if Bret wasn't hurt. As long as it is not a part of the Batista/Cena title match.

I think he can leave Texas with permission. I know he has an autograph appearance in the Boston area the weekend after Rumble, so it appears he'll be allowed to leave the state.
