The whole family took this movie in over the weekend and I came away having enjoyed this two hour movie. Logan Lerman as Percy is as close to Zac Efron as an actor can be, but he was pretty damn engaging as the lead character. There were plenty of plot holes, but overall it was pretty good. Grover the half man, half goat satyr was well done by Brandon Jackson and didn't go overboard with the comedic sidetracks. Not a great movie, but well worth a couple of hours of your time. A couple scary moments for the younger kids with the Minotaur, Medusa and the Hydra, but still relatively tame.

I thought it interesting that the trailer they showed before the film was for the remake of Clash of the Titans, which might be pretty much the same movie, isn't it?

Took the kids and really was surprised at how good it was.

It moved along nicely and had lots of comedy bits. The action scenes were much improved over Columbus' Harry Potter films.

Uma Thurman made the most of her scenes--as if to apologize for being in "Batman and Robin".

My six year old daughter didn't even flinch at the intense scenes, which surprised me. Jaded kids....

I've been reading the books with my 8-year old son, and we took him to this last weekend as well.

He happily pointed out all the places that the film departed from the book, but still enjoyed the movie.

Most of the changes I picked out were made to prevent this from being a 4-hour film, so I didn't have too many problems with that either.

I look forward to seeing if they move ahead with sequels to this.
