My son has an Ipod Nano. My wife has a Shuffle. My son's music is downloaded on this PC, which is also where I've ripped many of my CDs.
Apparently, once my wife plugged her Shuffle into this PC, my son can't access his music because his Ipod thinks this PC belongs to the Shuffle, not his Nano. We can move teh ripped music to another PC. We'd prefer that Itunes stay here.
Can these two Apple products share a PC? If not, what do I need to do to re-establish that the Nano should be able to access its music on here?
It still gives an error when my son's Ipod is connected, saying (in effect) that the wrong unit has been detected -- unplug it and try again. So I can se the album/folder/playlist we created, but his Ipod can't.

is it the - ""An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly" error? That could be a number of things - even the USB-to-iPod cable.
Which generation of iPod Nano is it? And what the version of iTunes you are using?
Are you able to do a restore of the Nano? You might have to do that in order to get iTunes to recognize it - which means losing all of the music already on there. That shouldn't be a big deal if you're just resyncing it.
For the command line, yes. I'm not sure for the screen saver. I know with the command line you just need the contents of the folder if you have been running it with the -local switch.
