Hopefully by then we will be already getting TNA vs. WWE every Monday.
As for Raw, I'm a huge Y2J fan, but I don't mind at all him getting embarrassed by DX every week. Jericho is above wins and losses really affecting his heat at this point, and I'm just happy having him on Raw, no matter the capacity.
And at worst, this is long term Even-Steven booking as Y2J pretty decisively beat Shawn in their feud in 08.

I dunno. A year ago this time Jericho was cutting really fantastic promos and was far and away the best heel in the business. dX has gotten him back into whiny heel with no credibility mode, like he was in 02-03, and considering how much better and more mature his new heel act was, it is wholly a step in the wrong direction. But after an entire career of not selling for him or ever giving him anything at all to work with, you have to take it for granted he will always always always be buried against Hunter.

Almost seems like someone was asleep at the wheel to allow Miz to cut that awesome, shoot style promo and then have a great, prolonged confrontation with MVP in the ring. Seems more like something we would see for a main event program than the US Title. So that was pleasantly surprising.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed that.
The opening segment was quite good. Kofi's not going to give you much of a promo, but Cena's impression of Sheamus more than compensated.
I wish Jericho was going to get some kind of storyline-payoff as a result of this DX business, because after watching the last three weeks I would've thought he was leaving the company for real.

This is it. It was supposed to be a stagger to your feet, turn around, instant RKO. But Kofi kept getting up too fast and Orton kept shoving him back down before giving up.

Well, you should never go off script, but it's hard for me to hate Kofi for this one. The "wait 20 minutes for your opponent to get up so you can hit your finisher" bit is one of my least favorite things, and it kills my enjoyment of every match it appears in.

It seemed like he was pissed off even before he began the viper bit, even when he shoved Kofi off in the corner. And man, did he nail him with that RKO! I assume that was just good selling by Kofi, but it looked liked Randy put some mustard on it too.

Well, Kofi wasn't exactly electric, but he was confident and clear, which is pretty good for a young guy I think. I was pretty happy with Kofi's mic work.

That's what I thought too. First thing I noticed watching it live was the extra-stiff looking RKO and then I noticed him cursing at Kofi and calling him stupid. I don't watch enough WWE programming anymore to know whether that was something normal for his character but it certainly rubbed me the wrong way.
Originally posted by lotjxThe crowd was terrible all night. Every segment including the Miz/MVP got a boring chant.
Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed this. Again like I said before I don't watch much wrestling anymore so I don't know how often we get a smarky crowd like this. But this was just downright lame. The "boring" chants, the super loud "Cena sucks" and "Y2J" chants, and the completely lack of reaction for the hot ending of the MVP/Miz segment made the crowd look like a bunch of people trying to be cool. I don't expect everyone to buy every face the company is trying to push, but it gets a little aggravating when they cheer multiple heels and boo multiple faces in different segments. And "boring" chants can be okay, but they better be used at the right times. Sheesh!

Make that three of us. Miz vs. MVP trumps anything they throw at us in the World Title scene because of that intense promo. I gotta admit, MVP can move very well, even wearing dress shoes.
Sheamus as champ is growing on me. Even though he's not my preferred choice to hold a belt, I'm really glad he has it. ABC - anyone but Cena. Or Orton. Or Edge. Or HHH. Who else has been in the limelight for years? All we need to do is get the belt off the 'Taker and back on Punk.
Umm... let's assume that Orton was mad about Kingston missing a cue and screwing up.... if that's the case...
How big of a dick is Randy Orton?
I mean, who the hell would really notice that anyway? The fact that Orton threw a tantrum just drew attention to it. Why couldn't he just have yelled at him (or, I don't know, contructively critizited?) backstage? What if Randy, being stiff with the RKO, had seriously injured Kofi? I read on some other website that Randy might not want to work with Kofi anymore. Why is that his decision? Why wouldn't the WWE get a little upset about a guy (well known for his disipline issues and bad temper) showing zero proffesionalism or class on a live TV show?
Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"
Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"
Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"
Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."
Am I to assume we should expect the Kofi burial to start any day now?

I think this aspect of the snafu is being overstated. The RKO is a complete work, there's no stiffing someone with it. Kofi was just selling it well. It's not a clothesline or something.

Technically, there could be some stiffing. It's all in the amount of pressure used to hook the head. Say he vice-grips him, and then plants him with the move, there could be a serious injury risk. In a perfect world, the safest RKO is basically two guys taking a different bump each.

Kofi didn't really sell it any differently than normal. Orton looked like he grabbed Kofi's head in a death grip and dropped him really hard. It may have been painless and a complete work, but it looked really good. Or bad, depending.

I'd be happy with Triple H winning the lottery and retiring from wrestling forever. Shawn could get back to being an actual wrestler.
The comedy - specifically, the Hornswoggle-themed comedy - is awful. It was bad enough when it was Hornswoggle and Chavo, but at least that was just opening match goofiness. Now it's main event goofiness, complete with more time and more prominence.
I was talking to a friend on Monday night. He used to watch wrestling and no longer does, because he is smarter than I am. I told him Bret was back and he was shocked. He went and checked out clips of Bret/Vince and Bret/Shawn from last week, and seemed interested. Then he asked me what Shawn was doing these days. I said he was one-third of DX, along with Triple H and a leprechaun named Hornswoggle. He did not bother watching Raw after that.
.................I feel like the audience is getting trolled. So they're completely aware of the trope and how old and routine it's gotten...and yet they're still doing it?
