I was either in a major FG mood or the first two shows of the night bored me that much, because I liked this week's FG, even though it felt like another run-of-the-mill episode.

The show's two major laugh-out-loud moments for me came when amnesiac Peter found his old Surfin' Bird record to revive that joke for a few seconds and the Giant Chicken repeatedly beating Peter with blunt objects. Love that we've reached the point where the Giant Chicken actually has a house and a front yard in Quahog.

This one might not hold up so well on repeated viewings, but got some good laughs from me the first time around.

EDIT: Holy hell, how did I forget about Dwayne Johnson's cameo? Great stuff!

I thought Dwayne Johnson playing with the dolls was the best acting he'd ever done. Also, it was really funny.

God, that Gene Siskel joke...

Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.

I also was a big fan of those 3 aforementioned jokes. The Stewie 9/11 joke was kind of a jaw-dropper for me though. I get that he's evil, but that seemed kinda out of place. They've even "gone there" before but this time seemed different. Eh, whatevs.

Seth MacFarlane is an equal opportunity offender, and he was supposed to be on the American Airlines Flight 11 that hit the north tower, so I give him a pass on his 9/11 jokes.

The Family Feud was the best part of the show. I don't mind the 9/11 jokes since its been awhile and fits Stewie's character. It was a good show, but Something Something Darkside was the best Animated anything this week.

I don't know. The problem is that for the beginning after 9/11, he wouldn't do these jokes at all. Now, it seems like he does a 9/11 joke almost every episode the last couple of years. It's not that I find it unfunny because it's offensive, I find it unfunny because it's overkill, like the Herbert jokes were a year or two ago.

As for the episode itself, man did it start out awful. I hated the Family Feud scene, it felt so outdated. They're supposed to be in the present-day, but I'm to believe nothing about the feud changed since the 1970's?

Once Peter's amnesia kicked in, it got really good. Loved the Dwayne Johnson with dolls bit. The Gene Siskel review for Pretty Woman was wrong, but still so funny. And Peter learning to drive via Grand Theft Auto was hilarious. But my favorite parts were a tie between Quagmire at the supermarket with the Jaws music and Peter taking a subtle yet awesome dig at Tiffani Amber-Theissen.

Overall, if you ingore the dreadful first-third of the episode, it's one of the more consisently funny shows I have seen out of FG in a while.

That's funny. My friends and I thought the Family Feud bit was pretty funny and the GTA bit was about 5-7 years too late.

Hey, did you know that Richard Dawson was the host of Family Feud as recently as 1995? I did not. So, there. :-)

(I'm ashamed to admit that I also did not know Richard was still alive.)

The only thing I didn't love about the Family Feud bit was how bad Seth's voice impersonation of Richard was.

I think your outrage over suspension of disbelief is misplaced. Did we all forget that the man Lois was about to fornicate with is the same man who peeped on her in the women's bathroom? Apparently, Lois did.

Well, to be fair, I did remember the one year in between Louie Anderson and Al from 'Home Improvement' where he hosted. But that was the worst part of the feud to watch, so I tried to forget about it. So there, there. --

I'm not outraged, I'm just thrown off about it. Did it have to be Dawson? I always found him to be really lame and creppy. John O' Hurley is a great host, IMO, and they could had done a much funnier skit with him. I bet he even would had been willing to lend his voice for it.

But that said, you're 100% right about Lois/Quagmire's relationship, though I've always thought of it more as Lois respecting Quagmire, just as long as he doesn't come on to her (giggity) straight up. I don't really think she's ever hated him, she just doesn't want him to creppily advance on her.

And he was just watching her pee, not peeing on her. Big diff. Well, maybe not to the authorities. --

I cut out a bunch of stuff about the circumstances of Dawson returning as host in 1994 and 1995. It's not really relevant.

But I would guess that they decided that Dawson hosting was the most iconic version of FF. That's not true for me because my childhood was entirely the Ray Combs years (didn't even know who Richard Dawson was until we got GSN and saw reruns of FF and Match Game). I'm sure they thought Louie Anderson or Richard Karn were too obscure, but they could have had some fun with Anderson giving that I seem to recall rumors of impropriety regarding his leaving the show.

This was a great episode, lots of funny parts already mentioned. For me the funniest part of the show was when Meg made the joke about Peter having sex with her before the amnesia. ahahahaha, funny stuff.

Let me clarify that. Too much Jim & Pam should mean too much 'the couple' Jim & Pam. Not too much Jim, too much Pam. Individually the characters are just that, characters of the show, and main ones.
