In a season that had the Buffalo Bills have only thing to brag about (and that be Jarius Byrd going to the Pro Bowl), new GM Buddy Nix "shook things up a little bit" by firing the entire Buffalo coaching staff (according to NFL.com).
Thoughts and Analysis:
I have heard of coaches being fired but not an entire staff of coaches. Buddy Nix must be serious in using a new, clean slate for an organization that have made the playoffs once in the past 10 years.
Buddy Nix may have to do more than just get a whole new line of coaches; Buffalo has had a history of inconsistent QB's and that may be another place to look.
Overall, I am actually pleased because it is about time Buffalo did something to try to help its cause as Buffalo never takes risks or hardly ever to improve the club. This may have been a big risk, but at least it is sending a message that Buddy Nix wants to stop fooling around and get to work with his new position.
Usually, when new head coaches come in, they bring in an all new staff anyway (or mostly-new staff_, so when head coaches are fired, generally their staff goes too. It's not unheard of. I'm only sad that Bobby April was included in this, as he's one of the best Special Teams coaches out there.
You make a good point about the special teams' coach but like I said, it's a risk and I think Buddy Nix is serious about re-organizing Buffalo (and in order to make an impact sometimes, you have to be a lot less conservative).
I guess I will have to pay attention to sports more often but it does make sense that it's not unheard of for an entire coaching staff to start looking for new places to work.

I hope that the Packers have already left 5 messages with him begging him to join them.

Is Buddy Nix seriously going to have power under a new regime? I thought his hiring was simply to act as a figurehead GM to handle the business side for a head coach (Cowher, Shanahan, someone of that ilk) who would run the entire show. If the Bills are seriously letting a 70-year-old first time GM run the organization, they're in worse shape than I thought.
Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.

I can't picture either of them going to Buffalo. If oakland opens up I can't see anyone going there but for a completely different set of reasons. And with the 2011 seasons coming soon I kind of wonder what will happen in general.
Oh, and until Snyder figures out he is the only constant in the Redskins woes, I wouldn't touch that job if I was a talented and sane coach.
Since I doubt the Bills get the top tier of available coaches, Billick is available. As for Oakland, only 1 man has shown he can make Russell look like a great quarterback and he's available. That's right: Charlie Weis. Unfortunately, Charlie can't bring his defense for Russell to throw against.
