As reported on tonight's Wrestling Observer Live, Bret has apparently agreed to become an on-air character and has signed from the January 4th RAW through Wrestlemania.

Better late than never. Welcome back Bret.

Now, I know matches are right out. But if they deliver Bret Hart slugging Shawn Micheals right in the face I will give them my money.

Well, HBK is taking time off after Wrestlemania, so perhaps a nice screw job in the HBK v Taker match?

Either way, I hope they just let him shoot a bit, and then go swinging a chair at everybody who ever pissed him off.

To be a fly on the wall the first time HBK and Hart meet face to face.

Has there been any noted interaction between either parties since Montreal?

I KNEW the Montreal screwjob was a work! I've been telling everyone for 12 years! Finally, it will be the huge payoff to this long-running angle!

The only way this could have happened is if Shawn and Bret (and probably HHH) made peace on some level. I also assume Bret is doing this in some way to help out his family members in the Hart Dynasty. Logically, he will become their manager, since they havent been evil enough for him to want to oppose them. Maybe he will take over as GM of RAW and rule with an iron fist? I couldnt see him being a heel though. This is great news for me, I cant wait to see him!!

If only the Hart Dynasty had gotten a real push instead of feuding with Cryme Tyme for three months. A Harts vs. DX match for the unified tag belts (with Bret in his family's corner) at Mania would've been pretty sweet.

Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.

Crazy thing is, this'll probably be seen as a win by Dixie Carter. Sure, Impact will get crushed in the ratings and WWE now has its biggest WrestleMania ace in the hole maybe ever, but Vince took notice of something TNA did!

Can't wait to see how this plays out on TV.

This is wrestling. A 3 month build up is long enough for anyone to get pushed and put over.
If this happens I will freaking mark out. But I'm not counting on it.

There'll be definite Bret/Vince interaction and probably the Hart Foundation too, But I'd more expect Kidd and Smith to turn on Bret and be Vince's stooges. If there's any HBK interaction at all, it'll be them kayfabe burying the hatchet and carrying on as faces together.

I think we will start seeing more of the seeds of HBK's return. His challenge to Taker was kinda dickish and lately he has been doing heel things like superkicking HHH at Survivor Series. Hart has a heel doesn't make too much sense, Shawn as a heel does. I don't think Hart will wrestler, but special guest referee for Mania is more then likely say Taker/HBK.

Surely an "I Quit" match would be appropriate.

I'd just like to add that if there was ever an opportunity to give the Mr. McMahon character the perfect permanent send-off, this is it.

I'll say this since no one else has yet. It looks like we have the top name being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year all set up!

What, are they re-inducting Bret? Oh. Owen. Yeah, that's quite possible, as long as the rest of the family doesn't raise a big stink.

Bret also said in his interview with Meltzer that he thought the DVD they were doing wasn't necessarily a Hart Foundation DVD but one about the Hart family, which means there will be a ton of Owen Hart stuff on it. That's pretty much the best way to handle it since doing an Owen Hart DVD would just be too uncomfortable.

I know that you should never say never with anything wrestling related, but this is one news item I never thought I'd hear. I'm not quite sure what to think about it.

I know CRZ doesn't want us talking about spoilers, so I'll just say this -- it REALLY makes one of the items from this Friday's Smackdown quite puzzling in terms of why they'd do that now.

I will say this about the Aces theme music. As decent as the Sons of Anarchy knock-off theme is, I would have been much cooler with a knock-off "Ace of Spades" theme. Wrestling themes need more Motörhead.
