Big Ben gets his bell rung, and then Charlie Batch needs surgery on his wrist. Who's the third stringer who may have to start next week? If this injury to Ben is going to keep him out a few weeks, will the steelers even make the playoffs?

The legendary, indomitable... Dennis Dixon. Hey, he's got a 79.2 QB rating (career line of 1-1, 3 yards passing (nfl.com) notwithstanding).

I think Ben is supposed to be fine for next week. Obviously I mean football fine, not I think this was at least his 5th concussion fine. They should still sign Garcia for insurance though, obv. (Why doesn't Leftwich just mosey on back? He was the [Dumb] People's Champ here in the city last year.)
The goal for the season may have to be shifted from Super Bowl repeat to making sure we go to Cincinnati for the wild card game and get them back, however.
Steeler fans at the moment are more concerned about:
#1. The unbelievably horrendous special teams on kick-off/punt returns and what's it going to take for the special teams coach to be fired.
#2. When will offensive cordinator Bruce Arians and his pass happy play calling be run out of town?
#3. Defense: Why can't the secondary function without Troy Polamalu and why does the defense play well for 3 quarters and then basically disappears in the 4th ever since the Super Bowl against the Cardinals?
The best part of waking up is not Folgers in your cup, but knowing that Chuck Norris didn't kill you in your sleep.
The good news for Pittsburgh is that after this week's tilt with Baltimore, they get two virtual byes against Oakland and Cleveland, so there's plenty of time to get people healthy before their big two final games of the season hosting the Ravens and going to suddenly-hot Miami.
Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.
Ask the Bengals how easy Oakland is. Ben is going to play and as a Steelers' fan, I think its a bad idea. Ben's 5th concussion is something that needs to be taken very seriously. I say IR Charlie, sign Garcia and let him deal with the Ravens in a game that the Steelers probably weren't going to win anyway. If Troy is out for a month, I think we can see an 9-7 season with no post-season.

That's what we all said about K.C.
There is nothing virtual about counting Cleveland as a win. That goes for any team Cleveland plays, for the rest of the season. Oakland on the other hand has Gradkowski power, and since he is an ex-Brown now he must excel. Go Rockets!
I was just thinking about Dixon the other day after watching part of Oregon/Arizona. I remember reading about his rehab after he tore up his leg. I had forgotten he ended up with the Steelers.
