Perhaps it's business-practices like buying out the Michael Scott Paper Company that's driving Dunder Mifflin into insolvency. The collapse of Dunder Mifflin has really been building since the first episode.
The Island of Misfit Toys Scranton branch handled it about as well as you'd expect. It was interesting to see Jim try to take command responsibly where Michael wanted to lead the office into a game of denial. The metaphor at the end for two parents on a boat with one trying to keep the kids from panicking was pretty good.
Overall, the murder mystery game was a little over the top for me but there was good stuff underneath, like Ryan's glasses and outfit of the week, and the confusion resulting from Andy asking Erin out. Can't help but root for the Nard Dog to get his girl.
Creed's reaction to being a "murder suspect" was the best thing on the episode.

Agreed. As usual, Creed steals the show with minimal effort. This time, without even speaking.
The murder mystery did get a little over the top at the end, with the Mexican standoff, but Pam getting involved was still funny. My honeymoon was in Savannah, so maybe that's why I enjoyed it more than most people might.
Ryan needs to combine the fedora with the cardigan, nerd glasses look.
"I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."
I love that Pam always winds up involved in these things. I'm also loving the dynamic between Jim and Michael. It's really been a great season so far for rounding out Michael's personality and giving him a few moments of managerial, if not brilliance, then at least competence.
It was nice to see Pam get away from being moody this season and participate in the Mexican Standoff. Andy having a natural southern accent to Oscar's pained attempt was great. Creed only shows up for a moment and I often forget he's part of the show, but he is so much fun for that moment!
Is there some reason Ryan is dressing this way that I'm missing?

The guy could really use a break after dating the high school girl followed by the Angela disaster. I really thought he'd go after Kelly after the dance-offs, but he's taken the Erin-road, which is how'd I'd go.
I lost video at the beginning when Dwight started fighting himself but still had audio. Still quite funny.
As for Pam, well, I saw her on the cover of Shape magazine last night at the grocery store. Yum:
Erin thinking it was a real date was the first authentic moment on the show in some while.
All the great Andy/Erin stuff makes me think about how pointless the long Andy/Angela/Dwight thing ended up being. I guess it led to Andy and Dwight as superpals.
Here's my impression of Kevin: "duh fart." I wish he'd died and I wish there was about 200% more Ryan.
I am really the only Office fan that basically dreads how over the shark it is and love everything else comedy-wise on Thursdays? Hate Poehler but LOVE P&R. Hate McHale but totally liking community. Always Sunny is as strong as ever. The office has really slipped to the bottom of the to totem poll.
Yes, you are. 30 Rock blows, P&R is barely average, Sunny and Community are hilarious but the Office is where it is at. Now GTFO.
Shapiro, Kevin is the man. Next you're gonna say all Creed is is "duh crime" and he should leave. Come on now.
Loved the episode, as usual. The whole Andy/Erin date mix-up bit definitely brought back some of that cringe from the Jim/Pam stuff of yore. And the growth of Jim going from simply 'good salesman' to 'manager' is great, basically using Michael as a "do-don't do" example.
But what about Dunder Mifflin? The next episode is entitled Shareholder Meeting. The company seems in for some trouble, I do declare.
Michigan against the SEC: 20-5-1 (7-3 in bowl games)

I wouldn't say I dread it but I think the three other NBC shows are all better at this point. (IASIP is good but inconsistent.)

Ehhh I think Kevin and Meredith are the worst examples of the show sometimes sliding tonally to a cartoon shot documentary-style.

Erin/Andy is great, and the funniest part is they may both be too dumb to ever get together.

Well, he should probably stay, because he's close to dead on. Only 30 Rock is inferior this season, and over the last two weeks it has rehabbed its season pretty well. The Office isn't over the hill yet, but it's a bleh season with a few good highlights (particularly the wedding episode) and with the exception of the nuptials Community and Parks and Rec have blown it out of the water.
I'll admit this is a subpar season of Office and 30 Rock, but I'll still take what they're dishing. It may not be the greatness of old (and the new comedies kicking ass by comparison isn't helping), but I'm still enjoying it.
The standoff at the end was hysterical. Especially Pam's involvement.
I'm surprised Pam didn't get involved in the Andy/Erin confusion.
I'm curious where this financial trouble is heading... Could the writers be realizing that the show is getting long in the tooth and this is the beginning of the end? Or is Dunder Mifflin going to have to come up with some way to save the company, such as by releasing the documentary they've been filming at the Scranton branch? Could that be part of the endgame as well?
You believe me, don't you? Please believe what I just said...

I was raised in Savannah, lived there for about 15 years, and still live in Georgia now. I liked this episode but all the characters' attempts at Savannah-ness killed me. I'm sure anyone who's from the South rolls his eyes like crazy when a Hollywood actor tries to put on a southern accent for a movie role. This was like that for me but times a thousand.
One thing I didn't understand: I know Erin's murder mystery character was supposed to be a little trampy, but why would she think Andy's murder mystery character, who was her brother, would be asking her out on a date? Andy should have figured that out earlier I think. That whole bit confused me.

Wow... The "Black people" statement was incredibly stupid.. The Stephen King thing was equally as idiotic! Talk about Stephen King after you have read anything of his in the last 10 years and then you might have an opinion worth listening to.
