DO TELL!
Torch specialist Greg Parks reports live from the site of tonight's WWE Raw that WWE filmed a new intro for the Raw theme music to debut next week.
ECW announcer Josh Mathews came to the ring during a commercial break before the main event and told the audience they were filming a new intro for next week's Raw.
The audience was told to scream when the word "HEY!" flashed on the Titantron video screen.
So did you scream "HEY!" - like Glitter's song?
Or as in "Gabba Gabba..."?
Or just SCREAM when they flashed "HEY!"?
Suckas gots to know...
(the RAW song ain't been right since RAW IS A THORN IN RYDER'S EYE)
FLEA
Well, I think they had the new theme song faintly playing in the background as the Raw logo swirled around the TitanTron, then they'd flash "HEY" like three times or four times in a row on the Tron, then go back to the swirling Raw logo for about 30 seconds, then three or four "HEY"'s again, repeat about three times. Couldn't make out what the song was. The fans never seemed to get the beat of when they'd flash the "HEY" down and always seemed to be a step behind.
And it bothers me a bit cuz I like the current theme and opening- they haven't had it for long, I didn't think, compared to others.
No kidding here. All the heels on Raw are considered weaklings... how many times has Big Show been FU'ed or Randy Orton come across as a wussy? They need a monster, kick ass heel right now. I mentioned Vader and Undertaker because they were OVER as indestructible on the DAY they arrived and the crowd loved it.
It would have to be a super-heavyweight (and they could develop an ex-NFL lineman which was the case of Vader) for this to work.
Originally posted by Matt TrackerI'm still surprised to see him in this position as it stands, but I remember MVP getting this chance and losing it soon after. MVP should get that shot again, I think, but Kofi is clearly RAW's answer to Rey: Kofi can lose a feud like this and not lose one iota of support from the younger fans.
Where did that MVP push go anyhow? Remember when some people were calling other people crazy for complaining that Shane stole MVP's moment but not to worry because in a week or two MVP would get to go against Orton and all would well?
Hey, the jury is still out; it's only been, uhh, six months. He's comin', nobody can stop him, nobody can hold him.

I guess it's been around 3 years for this song. How long was THE LIES THE MONEY THE SEX THE GODS THE FREAKS THE FRAUDS? Right after the brand split, so 2002-06?

Originally posted by djp Ironically, his smile is what turned me off from him in the first place. He would (and still does) run to the ring smiling like a retarded person and then do the horrible Boom Drop. But if he is indeed turning the corner and starts to intimidate like he did against Orton, those are two things he'll have to lose. Otherwise he'll remain Scottie-Too-Hottie version 2. I do love his athleticism and his desire, so I'd love to see him succeed.
His smile and overall happiness is what make him work for me (and definitely for the kids I guess) Like pointed out, he seems happy to be there. Happy to perform and show off his skills Watching him not smile will mean "he means business" so thats good too. As long as he doesnt stop doing it completely.
The boom drop. I agree. He should not wait any longer. But if you wanna say S2H v2 look no further than MVP. His ballin elbow is sooooo long now and it really doesnt add much. And right now it's all that he gets to do really.

How about Sheamus
Sheamus is so pale that his being on screen for even that long completely destroyed my tv's gamma and now i have to buy a new one. The entire gimmick is a failure in the vein of Mordecai and Kenzo Suzuki. I know you're being ironic but I had to say this stuff.
I had actually stopped watching wrestling for a long time (couple of years) and I liked Kofi right away after just watching two of his matches... obviously he is a great performer (in-ring and promos) and Im glad he's getting this push.

Wow, this is the most racist thing I've read all day. OK, OK, you hate really white guys and Asian guys and love black guys - or maybe only the *really dark* black guys. We get it. Your racism is progressive!
I actually thought Orton was going to be pissed at Legacy about his car. "Why doesn't the paint job show me with the title? Did you think I'd lose???"
Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.

I could see Sheamus growing on me in a few months. Don't ask me why.
Anyone know if his accent is real or not? Just curious.
Read an interview recently with HHH (don't recall where, sorry) stating that Sheamus was one of the younger guys he could see making a name for himself. He said that he showed up at events even when he didn't have to in order to learn, asked the right questions, and in general was just doing things "the right way" in HHH's eyes.

I found this that claims he's Irish. It's from The Sunday Mirror, May 7, 2006.
GET ready to rrrrrumble - Ireland's very own Big Daddy is threatening to wrestle his opponents to the ground and become world champ.
Giant Sheamus O'Shaunessy - who is nicknamed "SOS" or the Irish Curse - has vowed to take out all his opponents in his quest to be undisputed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Heavyweight king.
WWE has a massive following world wide and Sheamus is heading off on a worldwide tour to claim the title.
At 6ft 6in and 20 Stone of Pure Muscle, the mysterious "Irish Curse" says he will not be denied.
...
In real life Sheamus is 25-year-old former IT technician Stephen Farrelly, from Clonsilla, North Dublin - but he swapped his keyboard in 2002 for the wonderful, wacky world of wrestling.
Keep in mind, the reason some of these guys suck is the way they're produced. Mike Tenay with the screaming and the asking of obvious questions, Joey Styles and the rest of WWE being told not to call moves, etc.
