Ok, it's picking up a little bit. The positive step forward includes less of an emphasis on "manatee jokes not funny enough to make it to Family Guy" and more of an emphasis on establishing characters.
The episode sees Cleveland trying to find friends for Cleveland Jr. After some awkwardness, we meet Lester's kid Ernie, who also doesn't have any friends. Of course, once Ernie's made himself comfy at the Brown home, he doesn't want to leave and Lester won't take him back. This leads to run-ins with Child Services and a battle between gun-toting rednecks and foster parents right out of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith".
Best episode of the show's run so far, though that isn't too difficult at this juncture. I laughed at the possum attacking Cleveland's crotch more than I probably should have and at the aforementioned gunfight. Not much else to write home about, but this show's going in the right direction, at least.
I thought this was probably the worst episode so far. This show is still struggling to find it's identity and I don't know if it's really ever going to with so much other Seth McFarlane crap on the same night. It already felt like this show wasn't really needed, this episode only reaffirmed this fact.
You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week: FROM THE VAULTS.

Wait... establishing The Cleveland Show as its own entity and not the inbred, third-arm-growing-from-its-forehead Family Guy offspring is a good thing? Perish the thought.
