http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/10/vikings-packers-game-ratings-.html

Not only did last night's "Monday Night Football" sack broadcasters in the Nielsens, the Minnesota vs. Green Bay game was the most-watched program in cable history.

A mammoth 21.8 million viewers watched Brett Farve lead the Vikings against his former team, drawing a 9.0 rating among adults 18-49.

The second-most-watched program in cable history was also on ESPN -- last fall's Eagles vs. Cowboys game.
Locally, the game registered a massive 58.3 rating (startribune.com) between ESPN (17.5) and KSTP (40.8).

To put the 58.3 rating into context, it means 1.009 million households in this market were tuned into the game. There are slightly more than 1.7 million households in the entire designated market area for the Twin Cities.

KSTP, which carried a simulcast of ESPN's telecast, had a 40.8 rating for the Vikings' 30-23 victory and ESPN had a 17.5 rating in the Minneapolis-St. Paul market. In Milwaukee, the game did a combined 49.7 rating with the over-the-air carrier in that market firing a 36.0 rating.

Did anyone of those viewers think that was a horseshit interference call? Or question what the hell kind of Professional foul is "TAUNTING"?.

The (WWE) Universe. That's why all those Did You Knows? make sense. Perspective

If RAW takes a beating, I blame bad booking

Ok, Brett Favre finally won against the Packers, made Aaron Rodgers eat dirt and wet his pants, and got the blood-soaked vengeance he vowed when Green Bay refused to play his "retirement?" game for a third straight year.

NOW can he go away?

What is it with all you haters?

The guy's gonna be 40 in 2 days; okay I get it, he's old. So the fuck what? He's still a better QB then the majority of the players playing today.

Did you not see that game. He was pretty fucking great. Why would you want to deny the guy to make money doing what he loves AND is great doing it?

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

Because he's way too annoying about it. Doing the whole "okay, I've had enough, I'm retiring/no, I think I still want to play" dance year after year, on every medium available... it gets old. I can't fault the Packers for deciding that once he said he was done, then it's Aaron Rodgers's turn. If he had just said yes or no and stuck with it, I'm sure the reception would be much different. But to do all this, then manipulate things just for the purpose of going to Minnesota solely to kick Green Bay's ass twice (and pissing off pretty much everyone who stuck with him up to that point)... yeah, I can't blame anyone hating him.

I'll cut Favre a little slack here just for the point that he wanted to get to Minnesota and re-unite with one of his coaches in the first place, once Green Bay had moved on and committed to Rodgers.

Not that I think he intentionally dumped the end of the season with the Jets, but he needed to make it look plausible that he was really retiring this time to get his release. I would think the Packers *and* Jets would have cried foul if Farve was released, only to sign with Minnesota within a week? Wanting to skip training camp may have drawn it out a bit longer.

(None of which excuses his prima donna act the last half-decade. I just think in this case it's like a pitcher who isn't going to say he threw at a guy because he would get fined/suspended for telling the truth.)

Mrs. spf is a huge fan of this show, and when I told her the news her response was "yeah, that seems about right." Gives the show time to wrap everything up and get the storylines moved to where they need to get to.
