I'm tired of all the pro wrestling terms the newscaster uses to describe her candidacy.
I like her campaign video - she seems honest and friendly and she seems to know what she's talking about. Even though I'm not able to vote in that election, I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
Though, it would be fun to see McMahon/Dodd at Wrestlemania :P

McMahon: I think the citizens of Connecticut will see that that’s an entertainment product and they’ll get to the crux of the matter. Our citizens are very smart. They enjoy our product but they also know that it’s an entertainment product that’s on television and the company that’s behind that is a very strong company. It’s traded on the New York Stock Exchange. So I think they’ll have a good idea about that.
She didnt say anything earth-shattering in the rest of the interview, but I'm curious to know how much of her WWE footage will be used against her. Luckily for her, Vince shouldered most of the embarrassing footage in the family.
Linda can call it an "entertainment product" all she wants, but it's an entertainment product the American news media ranks in credibility about one notch above pornography. If they really dug into it, they'd also discover that even today, in "PG" form, it's still one of the most violent, misogynistic, homophobic and racist forms of entertainment that can be found anywhere on television. And on top of that, she's trying to butt herself into a party which is going to require shunting aside people who have been in it and who run it, and may not take kindly to her intrusion. I'm not saying she can't win; anyone with that much money has to be taken seriously. But it'll be tough.
Granted, I am saying this with no real awareness of just how bad the sentiment against Dodd actually is at this point.

Ask a Republican primary voter what he thinks about the media. ;-)
I'm wondering how it'll be before one of her opponents trots out footage of Vince making out with Trish Stratus right in front of Linda sitting in a wheelchair. "She didn't react when her husband broke their marriage vows right in front of her. What other crises would she not react to?"

Point taken, but aren't these types also about values candidates and such like? In other words, all manner of stuff the WWE product doesn't remotely reflect?

Well, this would be Connecticut Republican, which I believe translates to "leftist Commie pinko" on the national scale... although that's only assuming she makes it through to the general election. Primary would probably be much the same.

I really doubt it. People know that it's scripted and that Vince wasn't really cheating on her. (I mean, they have no idea whether Vince ever cheated on her, but they know that has nothing to do with what was aired on TV.) If they make an issue of the WWE at all, it would likely be about steroids, and possibly about it being inappropriate in a won't-someone-please-think-of-the-children way.
I think the real obstacles she faces are the lack of experience (and, as TheOldMan points out, the related lack of connections) and her own less-than-exciting mic skills. I don't really see the content of WWE programming becoming an issue, and certainly not her own storyline role.
I know there is a wrestling "bubble", but it may be best to look at it like - there is nothing that Linda has done for the sake of "entertainment" that trumps the reality of what Dodd has done, or record, in Congress
If they want to play dirty, just run the loop of his AIG statements

Well, there is the failure of the XFL and almost every other non-wrestling eventure that WWE has gotten into showing Linda knows very little about financing minus the WWE. The fact that WWE has been a low stock for years now as well. There is also the amount of dead to paralyze wrestlers most of which did not happen in the WWE ring, but are associated with the company. Not to mention the exploration of Eddie's death not even two months after he died. The sexual harrassment charges from both men and women against Vince. Linda's extra-material affair with Hogan and Vince with just about everyone else. Plus, how stupid she will look fighting health care when most if not all wrestlers can afford it. Their stance on unions as well. Not to mention the 100 plus ex-employees with axes to grind.

I think ... that's a different Linda.

Didn't he cop to a bunch of affairs in a Playboy interview? Not that that should be that big deal. Linda kicking Jim Ross in the balls would probably make for a better commercial.
Republican primary voters do not consider Glenn Beck part of the media!
This is actually a segment from his show on Headline News, before he went to Fox, and I'm shocked at how genuinely reasonable he comes off here. Rupert Murdoch must put something in the water over there.
As far as using the footage against her: Considering the material is copyrighted, wouldn't the opposing campaign need the permission of the company that her husband is the CEO of?
