I gotta say that the Regal/Christian match last night on ECW was actually pretty poor. The first half was slow, and then the second half featured more kicky/punchy stuff than anything else. Perhaps they were both still tired from that 8 second ironman match from Summerslam, but the match just didn't click. Cool ending though.
The best part of ECW last night...no Abraham Washington Show.
Finally, I love Yoshi Tatsu and his theme music, and I got to hear it twice. Yay for me.

Matt Striker made not one, not two, but THREE Solo Morrissey references in the main event (though referring to Regal as "the last of the famous international playboys" may have been a bit of a stretch).
Good thing someone pointed out that Superstars is now on Hulu, so I can see the Hurri-match.

Which leads me to a question: since ECW's no longer available on WWE's website, is there anywhere else it can be viewed? Hulu's unavailable to Canadian users. I can find it using torrents, but I'd rather do it legally.
I don't like waiting until midnight on Saturday nights which is when it's on TV this way.

What was the third? I caught "Ringleader of the Tormentors." He's used "November Spawned a Monster" before, too. I love the contrast that a conservative meathead pro wrestler dude from New York is clearly a huge Moz fan. Awesome.
Regal /Christian was great live! (Bummer if it didn't come across as such on TV -- I haven't had a chance to watch.) I actually was pleased that they saved the PPV-quality match for my live show! (Just one of several surprises they booked just specifically for meeeeeeee! :-) )
I'm enjoying Regal having his stable of Kozlov & Ezekiel, especially with the bit of backstory that we have already in place that he doesn't much like Kozlov, I was really pleased that neither of K&E interfered up until Christian lost his mind & bitch-slapped Kozlov. Both the promo & the match were good stuff!
OK, so Shelton went off & worked on his promo skills & got much better, so now they want to make him a singer?? That was a good Louie Armstrong though! I thought it was pretty random to set up the TT match with Shelton / Ryder vs. YoshiTatsu / Tyler Reks.
I do like that Shelton's getting to play in the tweener space for a while. And he was running that whole match & made it pretty entertaining.
It saddens me to say that none of Reks, Tatsu or Sheamus is much working for me. Don't know if they just need tuning, or if they're just not ready.
I am liking Paul Burchill. He's a solid worker, & the creepy vibe with Katie Lee is good. Good promo during the ECW section.
------ Don't know if I'll have time this week to do a "live spoilers" thread. But it was a really good live show!! We got an astonishingly surprising aftershow, that I will have to post somewhere -- show started at 6:45 & didn't end til after 11:00!! (I'm sure it was all just for meeeeeee -- nothing at all to do with the upcoming WM... :-) )

He tossed off a "Viva hate!" about two and a half minutes in. No word on whether or not Striker's going to reveal that Regal has a powder keg between his legs.

Not sure he's actually a fan of all those things. He just prepares well and throws them out left and right.
Like last week I caught him describing The Hurricane as "The Power Man with the Iron Fist" and then some more comic book references.

Striker used a zillion comics references during the Hurri-match, and has referred to Katie Lea Burchall as "the Scarlet Witch" for months. I think he knows his stuff.
He also went through a phase where he kept quoting "the poet Christopher Wallace" (that's the Notorious B.I.G. to you and I).
He's just a smart pop culture nerd.

Cena v. Edge -- Should be really good, with both guys working hard. I'll go with Cena, since..... well, I don't see them sending him to SmackDown. DX v. McMahons & Big Show -- Will probably be very carefully laid out, and thus be entertaining.
