WWE executive Stephanie McMahon told BusinessWeek Magazine that WWE is considering Freddy Prinze, Jr., Reverend Al Sharpton, and former Price is Right host Bob Barker to host future episodes of WWE Raw.
I think if Al Sharpton hosted RAW, I would fly to watch that debacle. Freddie Prinze Jr might be worse that what happened on Monday. He has all all the charisma of water.
So, as long as this thing is apparently going to keep happening, I ask you, who would YOU want as a Raw "Guest Host"? Who would do a good job?
Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"
Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"
Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"
Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

At least he's familiar with pro wrestling, having been a fan and worked in creative. He won't screw up like Piven did.
Robert Englund of Nightmare on Elm Street fame apparently said he was approached about being a host, so I'll say him in character as Freddy Krueger. Wrestlers would fall asleep and not realize it until freaky stuff started happening around them, and he could kill a couple of guys nobody cares about - say, Chavo and Carlito?
Santino continued his tradition of coming down to the ring, being ten times funnier and more interesting than the other guy, and then getting his ass beat. He said to Rey Rey "anyone who a wears a mask eesa either incredibly ugly, incredibly stupid or...eesa the batman!" Man, if this guy could only wrestle he'd be King Korn Karn by now. Homeslice doesn't even have a finisher. -- Matt Fowler
I wonder if they've considered having a sweepstakes for a fan to be the guest host? If they were still doing Cyber Sunday (are they? I think I remember hearing that they're not) that would be the perfect time for a fan to be the host.
Flavor Flav - if only he'd come out to "Can't Truss It" like Jeremy Piven did.
He could also be guest ring announcer "Winner, and NEW Intercontinental Champion, Boyeeee!" and naturally guest timekeeper with the big ol' clock on his neck.
What wrestling fan (oops....sports entertainment fan) is gonna pass up watching that show?

You know, if this becomes one of those threads where people just say a name and nothing else, I'm thinking it's going to be one of those threads with a lock icon next to it.
I have to suspect the people around him would never let him do it, but if the reports are true from a few weeks ago that John Cena and Sasha Baron Cohen are supposedly good friends he would be a massive pop culture coup if WWE could get him to do an appearance.
Otherwise I would think they would be better off sticking to athletes, as they have a lot of fans among that group.
It would be kind of cool if someone could get Cyndi Lauper to make an appearance :)

As we saw with Shaq and Seth Green, the key is to get hosts who are also wrestling fans and 'get it' in terms of how you're supposed to act on a wrestling show and how they operate.
Isn't Adam Sandler a WWE fan? I know he was at Wrestlemania a few years ago in the crowd. He could be an excellent choice.
A fantastic but very unlikely option: Brock Lesnar. Would pop a big TV rating, and it'd serve as most likely his official 'goodbye' to pro wrestling. He has plenty of downtime between his fights so surely he could spare a night. Maybe the next time RAW is in Minneapolis?

Would he do it as Borat or Bruno, though? I guess it doesn't matter. Hopefully he'd insist on writing all his own material. And, the threat of putting him on live TV might be too much for PG-rated WWE.
Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.
I don't mind if they throw in a wrestling legend in every now and then, as those guys might not boost the rating but should be able to deliver a decent hob regardless. They'll know how to cut a promo, they'll know how to work the crowd.
But outside of that the way to go is actors like Green and Piven (I actually thought his show wasn't THAT bad) or big name celebs (no matter what field they are in) like Shaq.
The Shaq episode got a great rating because people wanna see this guy. They know he'd try to get involved, and they know he will have fun with things.
That's maybe why I liked Piven. Sure, the dr.Ken char was annoying but they both seemed to have fun out there.
But it's important that you get actors and such that go out there and play with it. Goof off, show they're thrilled to do this. I could see Mickey Rourke stand out there and just be a no-selling tough sob. That would bore me to death.
Hmmm. The only one I don't like is the "Screw the Rest" one. Seems too patriotic. I know Angle's whole thing is the red white and blue, but to me he's always seemed to be more about his obsession with being an olympic gold medalist than a U....
