Pathetic. Fedor is either a coward or so owned by the Russian mob and M-1 at this point that he has absolutely no say in his own future.

I'm worried about StrikeForce's future. I quite enjoy them as the CFL to the UFC's NFL, but with Fedor the company-killer on board (I should note that it's probably more M1 who are the company-killers), they might not be long for the MMA world.

Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.

Yeah, this seemed too soon for a seemingly "roll the dice" move. They have a good business model that allows them to be profitable, as well as have real growth if/when they make it to CBS. Instead, this is the kind of move that could possibly make them a true 1A to UFC, but could also be the harbinger of spiralling payroll costs.

There's also the fact that Fedor on his own isn't really worth a lot of money in PPVs (which Strikeforce only kind of run, as you can buy the show if you don't have Showtime) or ticket sales (which Strikeforce has shown remarkable intelligence in booking and promoting). Fedor COULD mean something, but he'd need exposure before it happens, and a meaningful opponent. UFC was able to offer both; Strikeforce can only offer the potential for exposure (if they make it to CBS).

It is the policy of the documentary crew to remain true observers and not interfere with its subjects.

Plus UFC's dominance, some dreadful marketing, utterly bizarre business models and, more recently, Josh Barnett's apparent affection for steroids. Strikeforce seem much wiser than many who went before them so they may do rather better.

I'm pissed we won't be getting Fedor v Lesnar, but outside of Brock I don't see much that sets UFC's HW division apart, or any fights that would be more intriguing to me than what Strikeforce could offer.

Couture? A "name" fight that would draw, but little more. He'll be pushing 47 by the time he could fight Fedor and likely wouldn't last a round. Heck, the fact he's still a contender at that age is hardly a ringing endorsement of the quality of UFC's heavyweights.
Mir? I guess, but I wouldn't give him much of a shot.
Nog? Been there, beat that. And again.
Carwin? Velasquez? Haven't done any more or less than Rogers IMO.

Already with Strikeforce you've got Rogers, Werdum and Overeem who stack up much the same as those guys. Off the top of my head, they could always go after Lashley (if he turns out to be legit) or Barnett (suspension dependant) down the road if they want.

He's contracted for another three fights with M-1 anyway isn't he? M1 won't budge on co-promotion, UFC (understandably) won't budge on not. Short of breaking his contract with M1 (which would doubtless lead to a legal injunction stopping him fighting anyway) or buying out said contract I don't see what he could do.

Much as I want to see him fight Lesnar, there's no reason for Fedor to do anything that drastic to chase a guy with a 4-1 record as far as I'm concerned. You'd be as well asking Brock to leave UFC and come over to Strikeforce. For me, he's the one with much more to prove still.

Best case scenario, it increases the exposure all the guys in Strikeforce get and helps build a legit alternative to UFC. Worst case scenario Strikeforce just signed their own death warrant. Time will tell.

Not a boxing fan, didn't see the fight, but my best friend Richard did along with a few of his buds, and eh, he found it to be kinda boring. Just a couple guys trading punches with no blood, no knockdowns, no knockouts.
