What I think will get old is having the weekly celeb host all be good guys. They need someone who will protect the heels with goofy matches like making Randy Orton face Barry Horowitz or Gillberg.
Yeah, that's kind of ridiculous. They're obviously building to a threeway. I don't think Show is going to lose in that match (Kofi will pin Bourne or vice viscera), and the threeway isn't the best thing I've ever heard of, but this wasn't just them having Show run over Bourne because Bourne sucks and Show rules.
No, its them having Show run over Bourne because Show is BIG and Bourne is small. I don't think Bourne should go over clean on Show, but they could have protected him by making him seem at least to be a slight threat. ESPECIALLY if they're going to have him in a 3-way with the guy at NOC. Yeah, maybe they're going for the "the little guys have to work together to have a chance storyline", I understand that. I'd just prefer Bourne/Kofi myself.

Bourne should not be able to defeat Big Show because he is indeed small. One punch or throw by Big Show SHOULD be able to knock him out. To beat him he would have to slowly wear him down/out.
And while I prefer Kofi/Bourne one on one as well, I get the build for this story. It is very basic, and not all that well executed so far it seems, but it is understandable. While Kingston and Bourne do get their shots in, Show is too big/strong to beat. Until the ppv match of course where they can/will go all out and not give up. I expect it to be a 3way where they work together and then settle it between themselves eventually. Hopefully.

I mean relevant to the demographic in question, not relevant to pop culture. I could be wrong, but I doubt that there's a big crossover audience between Raw and The Apprentice.
Chances are, if you were to do a large scale poll of WWE fans, you'd find a lot more people who are fans of ZZ Top than you would of Donald Trump. In fact, I'd be pretty surprised if you found more than a dozen people who were WWE fans *and* had read Art of the Deal. (I'd be amongst that dozen, but like yourself, I fell out of the demographic in question awhile ago.)
It could also be a matter of cultural perception. I'm a bit closer to the South than you are (based on your profile) so I probably see a lot more high school kids still playing Eliminator than you do.
I was going to make a smart ass comment that based on your criteria, Oprah would be even more relevant a host than Donald Trump, but then I realized that Oprah would probably pop the biggest rating in the history of professional wrestling. (And now I'm worried that Sherri Shepherd will be guest hosting before long...)

Yeah, that would make sense if they were fighting on a UFC PPV, but this is pro wrestling we're talking about, real life rules don't quite apply. They could have booked a couple hope spots. I do hope you are right about it becoming Kofi/Bourne eventually. Unfortunately I fear they might both get squashed at the PPV. WWE tends to put over its percieved Main Event guys in situation like this(see John Cena vs. Miz). If Show does go over, I hope they have plans to use him to elevate the belt, ala Mysterio. Of course, the last time he had the US Title, didn't he barely defend the thing until he lost it to Cena at WMXX?

You've basically just made Justin's argument. It doesn't matter who the fans think is more relevant, they're already watching. If they could get Spencer and Heidi (whoever they are) they'd probably get a massive rating. Get the Harry Potter kids or Robert Downey Jr. (and Mickey Rourke, to promote Iron Man 2) to host and you're probably looking at another big bump. I'd personally love to see Shawn and Gus from Psych host, in character!
They could even turn Raw into an SNL clone with matches interspersed, with a different guest host and musical guest each week. It kept MadTV on the air a whole lot longer than it deserved to be.

The easiest thing to do to avoid this whole mess is keep Bourne and Big Show apart. Have Bourne fight guys more his size instead of immediately sticking him in a program with Kofi and Show, exposing his weakness against Show. It's sad that in his move over to Raw, that's the first thing they had him do (other than job to Orton, which I didn't have a problem with).

Especially since he just got done with a mini-feud with Mark Henry, I'm bored with him fighting ANOTHER big man. I was hoping he and Kofi would have a series of matches.

Get the fuck outta here with that make believe poll. You are right that I did not take into account region when talking about ZZ Top's popularity, but we are talking about a global product here not some regional indy fed.
It's just that Trump was brought in as the point man for the 'Guest GM' announcement. If they had brought him in as a guest GM and announced it a week in advance the there would have been actual coverage by magazine shows.
I could be wrong and ZZ Top might be the best thing that ever happened to wrestling, and if so than go ZZ Top, but come on ... it's ZZ Top.

Way to sway popular opinion, chief.

That's quite the assumption! Especially considering that Trump's most recent appearance on Raw WAS announced a week in advance. I must have missed all the actual coverage by magazine shows.

I don't think anyone's expecting them to be the best thing that ever happened to wrestling. I don't really expect anyone will care, and I doubt anyone will tune into Raw specifically to see them. I don't think they have any great appeal with the youth audience. I do think that if WWE really wants to keep this guest host thing going, they're going to have to draw from a range of celebrities that appeal to a range of audiences. The number of ex-wrestlers who are on good terms with WWE is limited, as are the number of celebrities who are willing to publically out themselves as wrestling fans.

Understood. But Trump putting his hair on the line made Wrestlemania 23 the most-bought PPV in the history of wrestling. I don't think ZZ Top would garner quite as much oomph if they put their beards up (with Mike Knox fighting on their behalf, of course).
Oprah would be an awesome guest GM btw.

Seth Green was kind of awesome and I thought he'd be put in some cringetastic stuff. Maybe ZZ Top will have some awesome ideas like Jericho vs. Mark Henry in a sharp-dressed man tuxedo match.

Justin King, we are very proud of. A former referee for many central Illinois promotions, along with his brother, including the NBWA in Danville, IL.

Upon further reflection, I think this was just a way to give some FCW folks some prime time while the shows emanated from Florida. I have a feeling we won't see King next week.

Does this go for the ECW NTI wrestlers as well? Chances are this is the last we see of Yoshi Tatsu, especially after the botch?
I'm hoping not, but I'm starting to get the feeling Sheamus is the only guy who's going to end up added to the roster page on WWE.com, in the end.

Yoshi's been on for three weeks already, so I doubt he's one they were using just because they were in Florida.

Mebbe. From the Declaration of Independents site:
"Justin King, a referee from developmental, was just called up to tour with the Raw crew."
