ZZ Top apparently had a concert DVD come out a few weeks ago and are promoting that, but it's more that RAW is going to be in Houston and ZZ Top is from Houston and they didn't have any better ideas.

Uhhh, didn't they say it was going to be from the campus of NC State at the RBC Center?
Two weeks, it's going to be in DC. I wonder if they'll try to get some politician to guest host. lol.

I bet that YouTube Obama is available (unless he's on "ET" again).

Bitch, I came to the same conclusion, but mostly because he IS the only brotha on the FCW referee roster page. ;-)
I can now die in peace knowing that I have successfully passed on the ability to be obsessive in ID'ing new officials to the next generation of recapper.
Oh, shit. Should I schedule a doctors appointment? "obsessive in ID'ing" sounds like may need to.
As for RAW. Seth fit in pretty well. They were story heavy last night and not to action heavy. It wasn't as crash tv as TNA tends to be but reminds me of the times I've come here and seen the show ripped to shreds.
Overall it was decent show but could have been better. Hey, there the E. Do they listen? Rarely. I think the last thing they listened to us on were the now eliminate "Cyber Sunday" and rehiring of Matt Hardy years back. Lovely stuff.
Yeah, I pretty much gave up watching after Show squashed Bourne. You have a guy cleanly pin the US champion in about 3 minutes one week, and then have him squashed the next? Why do that to Bourne, a guy who can be a star, when there are plenty of guys in the back who could do that job?
Originally posted by JustinShapiro Maryse pinning Mickie though, no joking, one of the most ridiculous finishes of the year, in that there is just no reason that should've happened and I have zero idea why it did. Message board poster appalled by inconsequential pro wrestling booking.
Hasn't Mickey came out on top of most, if not all, of her meetings with Maryse? So wouldn't Maryse finally winning one actually create more interest in the match, since the fans now believe that Maryse is capable of defeating Mickey? I mean, what's the point of paying to see a match if you're already sure who's going to win?
And I'm confused that other people are confused as to why ZZ Top would be hosting. Don't they randomly show up at Raw at least once a year? I know I've seen them in the crowd on more than one occasion and I vaguely recall at least one segment where they were just standing around backstage talking to some wrestler or another, and none of this was connected to them plugging anything. So my assumption is that they are legit wrestling fans, which is probably the most important thing that will keep the guest hosts from becoming overly obnoxious.
I'm interested in seeing how the dynamic of having multiple individuals hosting works out. It could be fun if one of them favors the heels and the other favors the faces.
I, for one, was overjoyed to see the Evan Bourne squash. Judging by the posts on this thread, Bourne's WWE career has obviously been destroyed beyond repair, so it's only a matter of time before he's back working the indies in my area and I can watch him without commercial breaks! (On a more serious note, Bourne's younger brother is improving by leaps and bounds. He's still a bit young at this point, but I would expect to see him with a developmental deal in a few years.)

Hey, it's great that they are big wrestling fans. This just would have been more relevant in 1984 than today. For today's demographic it is just way to random. I'm a little old for wrestling and I consider these guys Classic Rock, what's some 19 year old going to think?

In what, of any, way? Donald Trump is one of the most famous people in the country and has a show that ten million people watch. ZZ Top is most known for being in the audience of Raw.
Unless relevant means "beared."

Noooo, Maryse winning undid a legit two entire months of Mickie pinning Maryse, Maryse being scared of Mickie, and the announcers wondering whether Maryse was capable of beating Mickie. Because Maryse is a heel, the idea is that when Mickie finally gets her title shot after two months of being ducked, she has her number & will win & hooray. Instead, Maryse answered the question of whether she could beat Mickie and was scared of her two weeks before their title match by cleanly pinning her. She can and she's not. Nevermind.
The reality is that none of this matters because it's the women's match. But it is still flabbergastin' to see them build something for eight weeks and then nullify it immediately before the actual endgame. Seth Green doesn't know how to book.

Yeah, that's kind of ridiculous. They're obviously building to a threeway. I don't think Show is going to lose in that match (Kofi will pin Bourne or vice viscera), and the threeway isn't the best thing I've ever heard of, but this wasn't just them having Show run over Bourne because Bourne sucks and Show rules.
Eva Marie has been training with THE Brian Kendrick, and has posted some instagrams of some moves. Click Here (uproxx.com) - She runs the ropes quite well. - She does a pretty good headscissors takedown.
