The first fight with Ward will live in legend for decades.

Their third fight was, I believe, the last boxing match I saw live, and it was pretty memorable. It was a brawl, with Gatti clearly breaking his hand early in the fight and still going on to win after fighting basically one-handed.

I never saw either of the other two, I'm not much of a boxing fan. But if every big boxing fight was as exciting as that Gatti/Ward brawl, I'd probably be much more of one.

I am sure you have seen by now that Gatti's wife has been arrested for his murder.

She hasn't 'offically' been charged, but it looks pretty much like she is the only suspect in the murder.

I really haven't watched much boxing over the years, but I remember listening to Max Kellerman when he was on the air talking about how his matches with Ward were classics. I just saw one of the matches recently on youtube and it is definitely an amazing fight. It's terrible that his child is probably going to remember him for his death and the circumstances surrounding it more than his accompishments in the ring. RIP

Am I the only one that finds it eerie that Guruzim just said in this thread: http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=38505&page=1

Ok. So for years, I've stated that no one should date 19 year old or 27 year old women.

You have a statistically significant chance of getting a crazy one if you date women who are single at these ages. I can't prove this. I just live by it.

And that Gatti's wife (accused and arrested but presumed innocent until proven guilty) is 28!

Spooky.

Not that I doubted Guruzim much (or ever) before, but I may just have to take everything he says as gospel from now on.

That's Half way between Guru's numbers. So, on average, the man is PERFECT!

I tell you, these two stories, McNair and Gatti and rather sad. Similar in age, similar aged women killed them (it seems) Sounds like they were having marital problems.

Yeah, my Montreal Gazette (which ought to know better) had it wrong in the first article that I read.
