I try not to watch any sad movie, because I'll cry at just about anything.

I cried at the end of "Armageddon".
I cried at the end of "Cool Runnings".

Shut up.

I saw LOVE STORY recently. I damn near bawled toward the end of it.

There have been times that I've wanted to, but I just can't...

I think a lot of it comes from how I was raised, just to be able to suppress emotions to a horribly awful degree...

The only thing that has managed to do it wasn't really so much a movie, though. The last episode of Midori no Hibi (aka Midori Days) somehow managed it, briefly.

I sort of wish there were more things that did.

Schindler's List gets me a lot, especially the bit where Schindler breaks down at the end and sobs because he didn't get more people out. I saw a CLIP of that on TV, just a clip, and I started tearing up all over again.

Second me on Savannah Smiles. I friggin' loved that movie as a kid. Damn lovable kidnappers.

Truth be told, I cry pretty easily during movies. I'm a big wuss. I cried during First Knight. Yes, I know it's a shitty movie. Leave me alone.

So many to name, so I basically just went through what everyone else said to get some examples...

Armageddon..not just the part where he says goodbye to his daughter, but when Chick tells his exwife about doing something, "something kinda big", and them being there to welcome him back.

Tuesdays with Morrie...I didn't ever read the book before they did the made for TV movie, which had Hank Azaria and Jack Lemmon, and it was pretty much a sobfest the whole movie. So me and my infinite wisdom, then go and get the book, and it is the only book I've ever read that's made me cry.

American History X....It didn't make me cry, but damn, it gave me some serious cold chills watching it.

TITANIC - when Rose dies (?) in her bed, and the camera pans into the wreck, it all morphs into the ship before it sinks, and Jack and Rose embrace by the clock...BAM! Waterworks. It's all in the song.

Same thing can be said with A WALK TO REMEMBER...it was a dumb teen romantic comedy. The end is what gets me. Shortly after Jamie and Landon marry, she dies, and yeah. BAM. Waterworks again. It's in the song.

Ladder 59 - when the red car pulls up, and during the eulogy. John Travolta delivered it with such emotion.

I've been a bit of an emotional wreck recently (long story short: I'm losing my grandmother to Alzheimer's, and it's killing me inside) so I guess...I dunno. The schmaltzy stuff really brings out something in me.

I will go as recent as 'The Wrestler'; it was sad seeing a guy go through life without the affection of his daughter, him trying to salvage what's left of his wrestling career, and he risks his life to continue wrestling with his heart-condition (I hope I didn't say anything that spoiled the movie for others).

No mention of it yet, so Forrest Gump. When he finds out at the end that it's his little boy, I just well you know.

And Million Dollar Baby of course. And City of Angels.

Not so much this moment, but the similar moment in Two Towers, when they ride out of Helms Deep.

The hospital scene where everyone goes to see Bertier right after his accident in "Remember the Titans" also gets me every time.

Dead on. It's the one time I've really teared up. Especially when the brother/sister reunite as ghosts and see modern-day Kobe with the sad music playing in the background... wow.

Another one that was really sad for me to watch was the ending to "The Seven Samurai". Seeing the gravesites of the dead samurai and the living ones being discarded like trash by the villagers who they saved really gets to me every time.

Twice in The Fox and the Hound-- at the beginning of the movie when Tod's mother sets him down by the fencepost and gives him a few goodbye licks, and later in the scene where the Widow Tweed has to take him to the game preserve. Cried when I saw it for the first time as a kid; I still cry today at the age of 27.

Finding Nemo, when Marlin holds Nemo's egg in his fins at the very beginning. "It's okay, Daddy's here, Daddy's got you."

I second the vote for Five People You Meet in Heaven. Especially the fifth person. 'Nuff said.

Two instances in the new Star Trek movie. No further comment, since it's still in theaters.

There's a new champion of making me cry at the movies:

Up.

At the conclusion of the sequence that sets up the plot, I was THIS CLOSE to curling up in a ball on the floor and sobbing uncontrollably.

It didn't hit me THAT hard, but it is the first movie in a LONG time to make me tear up. Judging by the sniffles, most of the adults in my theater were tearing up too.

Even though it doesn't look exactly the same, I want a stuffed Kevin now.

The Champ got me many years ago, but Up got me three times. Once was sadness tears, the other two were emotional/happiness tears.

I can not recommned seeing Up enough for everyone. Please go see it if you have not.

The scene in Monsters, Inc. where Sulley and Mike say goodbye to Boo always gets me.

Also the ending to the Indian in the Cupboard. The bit where Omri says bye to the Indian just got me when I was watching with my classmates in primary school.

Iron Giant kills me.

I actually felt guilty eating popcorn and drinking soda while watching Schindler's List. I remember stepping outside during intermission and thinking "I gotta go back in there?"

Saw an Australian movie called 'Muriels Wedding' with my wife recently that made me sad. It keeps getting more and more depressing and the cop out 'happy ending' was anything but. Yay, she runs away from her dad and family, but they're still stuck in that miserable life cycle. Fucking movie.

Oh, also John Q (the dad goes through so much for the kid, and the ending where the kid flexes for his dad who's being driven off to jail.. totally gets me every time) and Oliver and Company (shut up, the beginning with the cat being lonely in the rain makes it dusty in my room)

The HBO movie "Taking Chance" about a Marine escorting a fallen Marine to his hometown for his funeral. I probably cried, full on cried with tears at least five times during that movie. Totally heartbreaking.

I know a guy who raised $10,000 for St. Baldricks, but I think that's due in part to the fact his hair went past his shoulders and nobody could remember the last time he'd had a haircut.
