Got in just enough laps to make it official. How stupid Kyle Busch and the rest of the front pack must feel for pitting. Waltrip wins as an owner!

My favorite part of the race Billy Bad Butt

also here is a lap review

I take it back, the Indy 500 was less boring.

Nice of the broadcast crew to continue to pat NASCAR on the back for not making the fans stay late to watch the race go to completion on Sunday night, when the reality would seem to be that most of them probably didn't get to sleep that much before turning around and coming back, for more sitting in the rain and a partially finished race.

Did you see what the track looked like Sunday night? It would have been midnight before they got that thing restarted not to mention the rain was scattered throughout the night. I also know that some of these tracks NASCAR races at the counties have curfew. Not sure if Concord has Curfew rules too. It is usually 11pm EST time.

Yeah, there was no way the race was going to go off on Sunday night. By the time the track would had been ready, it would had been at least 9 PM and the race, if ran fully, would had probably ended around 1-2 in the morning. Unfortunately, Monday was no better with 6 hours of semi-racing amounting to Reuitmann winning the Coca-Cola 340.5. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for David winning as I think he's been underrated because most everyone assumes his owner Mikey is too inept to really win anything. But it would had been nice to see a NASCAR singnature race in the past year finish fully and without contraversey (Indy debacle and Daytona rainout plus this doesn't help NASCAR attract and keep ratings).

Billy Bad Butt was funny, but nowhere near as funny as reading the 'outrage' NASCAR fans on the comment boards at ESPN had for Reuitmann and Toyota winning. If not him, the winner would had very likely been another Toyota driver, Kyle Busch. I guess they got tired of seeing Junior stinking it up yet again (40th) and had to take out on somebody. But man, are they running out of excuses for his crappy driving.

I was equally surprized by the ending..but you gotta admit that Reutimann was pretty smart in not pitting right then and there.

I sat through the entire Sunday broadcast...it was unfortunate that it was rained out, but that's life. That's just the nature of the beast, I suppose; with it being an outdoor sport. Are there any indoor or domed tracks in NASCAR?

I will never, never understand what it is that NASCAR fans have against Toyota being involved. In my opinion, it's another type of technology that can be mastered. Same goes with open wheel drivers who join the circuit, the fans should be embracing new competitors instead of shunning them and ridiculing them for not "getting it". I'm really hoping Danica Patrick makes a debut sometime.

Oh, and this was Robbie Gordon's best finish since, when...? 2005?

Not so much stupid, as just hit by bad luck- they were all VERY close on fuel, and it does no good if they run out on the 4th caution lap. They were stuck.

The sad thing is, a very similar thing happened to him Saturday in the Nationwide race. I wonder if anyone suggested to Kyle that his behavior was being paid back by bad weather karma.

Well...it took less TV time. That's all I'll give it.

Seeing Bliss and Gaughan battling for the lead in the middle of the pack almost made it worth however many hours I wasted - I mean, spent - watching that race. I'm still trying to find the silver lining in the Coke 600 coverage other than I managed to stay awake during green flag runs and nap only during the red flags (and leave for the BBQ after 227 laps ;-))

That's not me making up crap, that's what actually happened over the last year. The tire issue at Indy, and poeple complaining left and right about how both Daytona and Charlotte were handled because of the rain. Yeah, there nothing anyone could really do about the rain, but I tend to think that if a lot of people are critizing something whether they right or wrong, that is has to be considered controversial in some form.

The point being that as of last year's Brickyard 400, many if not all of NASCAR 'major' events have suffered in some way racing and ratings-wise. They have had bad luck in getting a clean, full race in and I think that's why they are hurting a bit with the TV viewership this year.

Me too. I know it's hurting my viewership. I am very bored with stock car racing right now. And Monday didn't help a bit.

We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

I would not say its been exactly boring. I mean Talladega, the Mark Martin wins, and Kyle Busch choking victories have been cool.Hendrick in good shape to win another title without Earnhardt's help.

Note:It's being reported that Tony Eury Jr is about to be removed off the 88 team.

Anyone else watch this? I caught mostly the last hour, and it was actually pretty good drama with guys getting in and out and back in or just near missing down to last trial going down in flames as the closing gun went off.
