TONIGHT: The most interesting on-going issue is whether or not Raw will air live next week (or at all) and where it’ll happen, since the Pepsi Center is double booked. We’ll have to keep an eye on that situation. As for Raw tonight: It will happen and it will feature a US Title match, with Matt Hardy challenging MVP. Also, after saving Batista last night, Ric Flair will be on the show. We’ll have more fallout from Judgment Day, no doubt. And there will be a Divas battle royal to find out who will get a Divas Title shot at a later date Hasn’t Mickie earned that by pinning Maryse twice?

-WWE Open.

-RAW Open.

-Freedom Hall in Louisville Kentucky was the site of tonight’s Raw. After the usual panning of the crowd, Randy Orton’s music played and the champion came out alone. Stills of what happened in his match with Batista last night were shown in a split screen. Orton spoke, saying he didn’t want to just retain his title last night; but he wanted to take Batista out for good. But he was stopped by Ric Flair. Orton said Flair was never fond of him back in the Evolution days, as he thought Orton was a threat to outshine HHH on every level (which he did, according to him). He brought up kicking Flair in the skull in the summer of ‘07 (nice callback). The lights were dimmed in the arena, by the way. Orton noted that he has kicked every member of Evolution in the skull and they’re never the same afterward. Flair interrupted and strutted out. At least they kept Orton’s monologue relatively short, as that is really grating on me the more it occurs. And I generally like Orton.

Flair got in Orton’s face and said Randy might still be champ, but he did not beat Batista. Flair said he was close to losing, so he slapped the ref to get DQ’d. Flair told Orton to look him in the eye. Flair asked what makes Orton a big man now. He said when it came to Evolution, Orton was supposed to be the chosen one, the heir apparent. But Batista blew by him and never looked back. Flair said Orton may have his own little group and talk trash, but until he beats the man, he has accomplished nothing. Orton said the championship on his shoulder means that he is the man. He said he can beat Batista, anytime, anywhere....then Flair interrupted with a WOOOOO. Flair said he saw Vickie Guerrero an hour ago, and she was upset about the title match ending last night. He said he gave Vickie an idea that she made official. Flair said that Orton will defend the title against Batista in three weeks on the pay-per-view (not named). Flair said Orton doesn’t have to worry about outside interference, as the match will be a steel-cage match. That’s how you use the steel cage stip. Orton said he wants to give Flair a message to give Batista- then he punched Flair right in the face. Orton stomped away at the Hall-of-Famer as DiBiase and Rhodes slowly made their way out. Batista came from behind and took Rhodes and DiBiase down before they could get to the ring. But once Batista got in the ring, Legacy pounced. To make the save, John Cena ran out, looking completely healed. That’s strange, since he was billed as being hurt going into his match last night, got beat up some more, then is 100%.

[Commercial Break]

-They showed the attack that happened moments ago.

-John Cena was walking backstage when Josh Mathews came up to him. Mathews asked why Cena intervened. Cena said that his critics say that he may have lost a step and his resolve has been questioned. He said he overcame physics and gravity at Judgment Day when he beat The Big Show. Cena said he will not let the people down and said he doesn’t go looking for trouble, but said may the best man win at Extreme Rules. Then he said it will only be a matter of time before the champ is here. He walked right into Vickie Guerrero, who announced tonight’s main event as Randy Orton & Legacy against Cena & Batista. Cena feigned anger and being upset and ended up saying he loved it.

-Lawler and Cole talked on camera about the main event for tonight and the match made for Extreme Rules.

(1) Divas Battle Royal For A Future Shot At The Divas Championship
Kelly Kelly, Brie & Nikki Bella, Rosa Mendes, Beth Phoenix, Jillian Hall and Mickie James are your combatants. Maryse was doing guest commentary. The Bellas double-teamed Jillian in the corner. :30 in and Rosa was out. Five seconds later, one of the Bellas was tossed. Maryse talked about how boring Mickie James was. Handspring elbow by Jillian on Mickie in the corner. The other Bella was thrown out and Mickie tossed Jillian at about 1:30. Down to Kelly, Phoenix and James. Kelly dropkicked Beth through the ropes at about 2:00. Beth tried to pull Kelly out of the ring and while the ref was distracted by that, Maryse sprayed Mickie in the face with something. Maryse said she was giving Mickie an “extreme makeover.” Kelly then kicked Mickie out of the ring easily to pick up the win.

Winner: Kelly, at 2:34. Well, it fits into the storyline of Maryse not wanting to face Mickie.

-MVP takes on Matt Hardy for the US Title tonight.

-In the main event, John Cena & Batista face Legacy.

[Commercial Break]

(2) Santino Marella vs. Chavo Guerrero
Santino wrestled with his shirt on. And as I type that, Chavo took it off for him, then took off his chin with a European uppercut. Santino had to walk off an atomic drop and took quite some time recovering from it. Chavo interrupted and took some more offense to Marella. Santino made funny faces, trying to get the crowd into it and get him back in the match. It didn’t quite work. Chavo toyed with him as he appeared to Hulk up. Santino yelled that Chavo was making him mad, and hauled off with a right hand. He seemed surprised by that. Clothesline by Santino and a back body-drop. Then he ran into a boot in the corner. Chavo went to the top, but Santino rolled toward the corner. He dodged a Chavo charge and made a jackknife cover to pick up the win. He seemed shocked.

Winner: Santino, at 3:35. Just a comedy match.

-Chavo got the mic after the match and told Santino that Santina would have to defend her Miss Wrestlemania crown.....against Vickie.

[Commercial Break]

-A “Mr. Kennedy Returns” vignette aired.

-Maryse was talking to The Miz backstage in French and Miz interrupted saying he has no idea what she is saying.....but it’s really hot. Maryse gave him the “talk to the hand” signal, or whatever it is. Miz talked up his 4-0 record against Cena and that he has a big surprise in store for Cena tonight.

-Josh Mathews was backstage with Matt Hardy. Mathews asked Hardy about his match with MVP tonight and Mathews suggested that Vickie may be rewarding Matt with a title match for helping Edge win last night. Hardy scoffed at that idea and said he wasn’t going to let Jeff win the title after what he did to Matt. Matt called Vickie a fair GM, saying she wiped his loss against Kofi last night off the books. He said he’s earned a US Title match.

-Chavo and Vickie were backstage where Vickie admonished Chavo for making a match with her in it. She said he didn’t have that power. Then why doesn’t she say no match? Chavo said Santino’s actions have to stop now. Then Orton stormed in and yelled at her for making a steel cage match without consulting him. Vickie said she doesn’t have to consult him and that he needs to worry about his match tonight. Orton told her she needs to worry about staying on his good side.

-That main event, Legacy vs. Batista & Cena in a handicap match, is still to come.

[Commercial Break]

(3) Primo & Carlito vs. Goldust & The Brian Kendrick
My two favorite wrestlers on the same team. Wow. They showed Goldust saving Hornswoggle on Superstars this past week. Goldust started with Carlito. After a few shoulderblocks, Goldust tried a pin and got two. He got a stalemate and then Kendrick yelled at Goldust for not staying on him. Lawler took a shot at the Denver Nuggets here. Kendrick tagged himself in and applied a rear chin-lock on Carlito. Kendrick backed Carlito into the corner. Kendrick distracted the ref in the hopes Goldust would do some cheating, but it didn’t happen and Kendrick lashed out on the Bizarre One. Primo ended up tagging in and he hit a flying elbow. Russian leg sweep for two. Jaw-breaker by Kendrick, but Sliced Bread #2 missed and Primo hit a springboard cross-body for three.

Winners: Primo & Carlito, at 2:26. Well, looks like Kendrick hasn’t found that partner he was looking for yet.

After the match, Kendrick yelled at Goldust, saying it was his fault they lost. He even slapped Goldust. Goldust got in the ring and as Kendrick continued his onslaught of words, Hornswoggle came in and grabbed onto Kendrick’s legs. Horny kicked Kendrick, then Goldust picked up the little guy and he dropkicked Kendrick. They both waved goodbye to Kendrick as he circled the ring and headed to the back.

-Close-up on Cena’s shirt backstage......the camera panned back to reveal it was The Miz dressed up as Cena. He did Cena’s hand signs and started walking backstage, heading to the ring.

[Commercial Break]

-The Miz came out to Cena’s retro theme. He started right out ripping on Cena, even doing it in rhyme. He mentioned “Nerd Life: The Story of John Cena.” Wow, this stuff is great actually. Miz did a rhyme that ended showing toilet paper with Cena’s face on it. Crowd only reacting a little to this unfortunately. Miz called out Cena again, in rhyme. Cena didn’t come out and Miz declared it 5-0 now. After declaring himself awesome, Jerry Lawler came from the announce table and into the ring.

Big pop for him. Lawler said the commercials are getting better ratings than them now thanks to Miz’s rapping. He told Miz that just because someone didn’t come out doesn’t mean they beat them. Lawler showed him an example and called out Batista to face him. When it didn’t happen, Lawler said that doesn’t really mean he’s 1-0 against Batista. Lawler then called out Bruno Sammartino and Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin for a 3-on-1 handicap match, but of course, they didn’t come out. If they did.....holy shit. Lawler said using Miz’s logic, he would’ve beaten all three. He told Miz he was talking out of his rear end. He suggested Miz ask for a match against Cena if he wanted one. Miz accused Lawler talking out of his rear on commentary. Miz said maybe he will go to Vickie backstage. Before he could leave the ring, Big Show came out.

Show told Miz that make-believe time is over. He said Cena may think that he’s done with him, but he’s not done with Cena. Apparently he just talked to Vickie about a match for Extreme Rules: A submission match with those two. Miz hid behind Lawler, then spoke ill of Show, then pushed him toward Show. Show pushed him out of the way to try to get to Miz, but Miz escaped. Then Show kicked Lawler and applied a camel clutch to him.

-Another plug for Matt Hardy vs. MVP.

-Referees were out to check on Jerry Lawler.

[Commercial Break]

-JR was at ringside with Cole after Lawler was taken out. I wonder if there’s a secret reason behind that switch. They showed what happened moments ago to Lawler and JR called it “absolutely inexcusable.”

(4) Matt Hardy vs. MVP- United States Championship Match
JR said Vickie conducts business like the owner of the Nuggets: “somewhat dubious.” MVP worked over the mid-section of Hardy, but Matt tried to take a break. It didn’t work, and MVP suplexed him back into the ring. Side Effect by Hardy for two. Matt tried to undo the buckle, then went after MVP’s leg with his cast. He did it behind the ref’s back as if using it in his view would get him DQ’d, but it hasn’t happened previously. MVP came off the second rope with a clothesline. Side slam for a two-count. Ballin’ elbowdrop for two. Matt suckered MVP in, then tossed him through the middle rope and to the outside. MVP sent Matt into the ring post, then slammed his injured hand into the steel steps. Right hands by Porter back in the ring, then he stood on his hand. Running kick in the corner, then the Playmaker. Over.

Winner: MVP, at 5:17.

-Next, for the Miss Wrestlemania crown, Vickie takes on Santina.

[Commercial Break]

-Earlier tonight, Orton attacked Ric Flair.

-Flair was in the locker room when Batista came up to him. Flair said he’d be on the show next week to call Orton out and he’s going to kick his butt. Batista said Flair has nothing to prove. Flair accused Batista of giving him that look everyone gives him. He said he didn’t decide to retire, “they” retired him. He said Batista doesn’t think he can do it anymore. He said if Batista has lost confidence in him, he won’t be at ringside with him for the main event.

-Chavo was laying on the ground, trying to teach Vickie how to fly. She was standing on the couch and said she couldn’t do it- the match is off. Santina walked in and said that’s a shame. She said the only way Vickie could beat her is if pigs could fly. Vickie angrily said the match was back on. Santina then made oinking noises back at her. Chavo calmed Vickie down, saying everything would work out.

[Commercial Break]

(5) Santina vs. Vickie Guerrero- Match For The Miss Wrestlemania Crown
Cole said they’re still waiting for an update on Lawler’s condition. JR said this might be the biggest match he’s ever called. Chavo accompanied Vickie to ringside. JR was his sarcastic self during this one and said it could be bowling-shoe ugly.

Once the match started, Santina said Vickie was jealous because she has a better body. Vickie slapped her and Santina said she’s a lesbian who likes it rough. Then she kissed Vickie. Santina said she never tasted anything like that before in her life....oh wait, yes she did: the other white meat. Chavo got in the ring with a mic and said it’s now no-DQ. Again, how can he make matches? We got another bell, so the first “match” lasted 1:31.

(5) Santina vs. Vickie Guerrero- No-DQ Match For The Miss WrestleMania Crown
Chavo pounded away on Santina, then the tide turned for Santina and they did the “boo” “yeah” thing that Santino and Miz did last night. Santina back-dropped Chavo over the top rope and to the outside. As Santina was moving toward Vickie, William Regal came out and beat the heck out of Santina. Exploder suplex, then a kick to Santina. Regal told Vickie to make the cover and she did.

Winner: Vickie, at 1:33.

They played Kid Rock’s “So Hot” for Vickie as Chavo put the sash and crown on her.

-Legacy was walking backstage....their match is next.

[Commercial Break]

(6) Randy Orton & Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhdoes vs. Batista & John Cena- Handicap Match
Rhodes with a back-elbow on Cena. Orton tagged in but as soon as Batista did, he tagged back out. Clothesline on DiBiase by Batista. Rhodes came in and Batista ran over both of them. They got clotheslined over the top rope by both Cena and Batista. Orton slithered into the ring, but the faces turned around and Orton slunk back out of the ring.

[Commercial Break]

Back from commercial, Orton was in control of Batista. He went for a cover after rolling him back in the ring, but only got two. Batista fought out of a chin-lock from DiBiase, but Teddy kept him from tagging and made the switch with Rhodes himself. Another chin-lock from DiBiase. Batista ended up making the tag to Cena, who cleaned house and hit the five-knuckle shuffle on Rhodes. Up for the FU, but Rhodes made a blind tag to Orton. Cena didn’t know and made the cover, so Orton took him off Rhodes and hammered away on him. Orton choked away and DiBiase got a cheap kick to the head. DiBiase appeared to miss a double-stomp off the top, but still was able to prevent Cena from recovering by hitting a clothesline. Couple Million Dollar Fistdrops for two. Rhodes came in and continued to ground Cena. Moonsault by Rhodes for two. It shocked JR! Orton was brought in and DiBiase got another kick to the head as the ref’s back was turned. Cena tried to make a comeback, but it was thwarted by an Orton dropkick. Batista finally made a tag and he took out all of his pent-up rage on Orton. The Big Show came down to the ring and Cena went after him on the ramp with a chair. Batista knocked Priceless off the apron, then all of a sudden Rhodes came flying off the top rope and onto the mat as the camera missed Ric Flair pushing him, I guess. Batista then speared Orton for the win.

Winners: Batista & Cena, at 14:46.

Batista and Flair stood victorious in the ring as they replayed the finishing sequence, including showing an angle of Flair pushing Rhodes off the top rope.

I trolled a couple of news sites, and couldn't find out any news on why Flair's back in the WWE. Regardless, it was nice to see him back.

Highlights of the show for me was Vickie Guerrero's shimmy and sway after winning the "Miss Wrestlemania" sash. She was looking mighty tasty today.

Second highlight: The Miz's rap. He's fun on the stick.

Third highlight: Anytime Santino/a was on. Awesomeness.

Otherwise, a non-descript Raw, nothing really stood out for me.

I love this town!

I . . . I . . . I had no idea RAW was in town last night. Maybe I shouldn't have let like 8 eps of Ohio Valley Wrestling back up on the ol' TiVo as I'm sure it was talked about quite a bit on there. Oh well.

Judging by the reports and what little I saw, you didn't miss much.

It was a pretty uninspiring show, though it shined in bits and pieces, but it didn't get anything new across.

This was my thought as well. I think it's a pretty glaring bit of hypocrisy on Flair's part, but really, how many people in that arena do you think had seen a Ric Flair match outside WWE? Some sure, but I bet not many. So it didn't really matter.

I trolled a couple of news sites, and couldn't find out any news on why Flair's back in the WWE.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

And, like 95% of pro wrestlers who make it to the big leagues, he's a junkie for the spotlight.

Proving Chris Jericho's point! Jericho was right, he was always right. He's an honest man.

I must protest about Miz praise. Some may enjoy his schtick but I just don't think this guy has IT. Miz is the devolution of the old Kevin Nash "cool heel" of the 90's. He doesn't show ass. He mocks fans' chants at him. He doesn't respect other heels. He's obnoxious, but not in a charismatic or entertaining way. Not even a way where I want to pay money to see someone punch him right in his pursed lips - because the way he behaves, he won't be humbled, he won't sell it. I seriously hate this guy. X-Pac "I don't want to watch him or this show if he's on it" hate.

The main event was pretty good. Legacy got to control the match, cut the ring off, tag in and out. Basically wrestle Horsemen style and look competent for once - well, until the end when suddenly their bodies were flying in and out of frame.

1) Ric Flair
2) Maryse's laugh after spraying Mickie in the face
3) Main event tag

That's all I liked.

I hope Orton stares Flair right in the eyes and says "Jericho was right."

I like Flair and all, but why couldn't MVP still be involved...I'm pretty sure they were chanting his name when Cena ran out.

The Miz will eventually need a big win, or all of this will be wasted. Though I do like that he's an equal opportunity tool.

They should really give Legacy the tag belts...I dont think anyone cares about the Colons.

As far as bad-assery currently goes: Legacy < Trilogy

I got a question about the orange gasmask Orton shirt. Is it that way because Age Of Orton kinda, sorta sounds like Agent Orange?

And why can't Cody Rhodes fallow the memo? Its black kneepads and black wrist tape. No elbow pads.

The only reason I wished I was there was to see Flair for the first time in person since he wrestled Steamboat in Nashville in '89 (yes, THAT match).

As for what I saw of Raw, there was a fat girl I work with in the front row making the company "proud" with her tube top. I admit it, I dig the Miz. I think he may break out before Morrison, even with less of a push. Morrison may struggle as a face.

I see this only if Morrison hobbles himself with a twisting flippy thing. I'm disappointed that Miz isn't wrestling. He shaped up into a solid midcarder, and I want to see him in a balanced feud for weekly matches.

His mic time should be scaled back. He runs out of steam about halfway through his allotted time.

It's a two-way street -- D.M. Smith says that WWE wanted Flair back on TV because Flair = ratings and it adds oomph to Batista/Orton so they can extend that before bringing Triple H back into the angle.

I forgot all about it too, until I was heading home and heard an ad for it on WHAS - they must not have sold out.

On the plus side, I saw Paul Wight at the WalMart by us in Southern Indiana at Exit 5 about midnight. I am pretty sure his sister or another close relative lives in Jeffersonville.
