Sorry for another "meta" question, but Mr Heel II in the first one made me curious about this one.
I almost exclusively use the "view new posts" link for each individual forum. If I need context for a comment, I'll then click on the individual thread, then back to the new posts view. I think I'm only one step above viewing things the "normal" way.
Over on the 7, however, I use more of the tools. I first click on the "'new' posts" link to see if anyone from the future has posted. Then I'll view the forums the same way as on the W, but Wrestling almost always and some of the other forums often accumulate too many posts between my visits for me to view that way, so I will use the new threads in this forum link or the threads from previous 24 hours link and see what seems interesting.

Really? On the main page, under the "posts" column, if a forum has new posts a link showing the number of new posts will appear. If it is more than 100, there won't be a link, so if you never mark the forums read you may not see the link.
EDIT: CRZ gave a better response in the Site Feedback forum.
I use the "New Posts" link. I'll usually open up a few at a time, in tabs.
If it's a forum I might find something of interest in but usually don't, I'll occasionally take a look at the "New Threads" link.
Every few weeks I hit the "mark all forums read" button just to clear up the "Sports" forums and others that I never look at; I dunno why, since I don't think it makes any practical difference. I just like to tidy up.

Eh, I usually just bounce around, look at the sections that have the NEW tag on them. If I remember to (which is usually every other visit or so), I'll mark everything read.
"Put on your helmets, we'll be reaching speeds of 3!" "It was nice of you to give that dead woman another chance." "All right, look alive everybody...oh sorry Susan."- MST3K: Space Mutiny Click Here (myspace.com)
I start by looking for the threads I contributed to, and see what's been added. Then, I'll go to the top of the topics (Movies and TV) and work my way down to see what's been said.
I generally don't post in Basketball, Football, Baseball or the Music sections because I really don't know much about them.
I use the 100 most recent posts almost exclusively. My bookmark for the site goes right to there.

I just open the forums I read and read any threads that suit my fancy - then mark that one read
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.
