I've only watched a few clips on youtube of this show a few seconds after reading this encouraging thread. Does this show seriously have a sitcom "laugh track"? I would find out myself but I don't want my opinion of Will Arnett to be equated to a cartoon laugh machine ala "The jetsons".

It wasn't great or anything, but I enjoyed it. Expectations were a bit high due to the Arrested Development team's involvement but the show is a perfectly enjoyable half-hour semi-toon.

Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.

I can't be the only one who, every time they see the title, thinks this is about Howard Stern growing up.

I had high expectations due to the people involved, and while it wasn't as good as I had expected. It was still a funny show and I think it will get better once it gets rolling.

I only made it about 2/3 of the way through. I mean, I've seen worse shows on television, but it's really, really "eh." The jokes are there, but they're not great, there aren't any stand-out performances that I noticed, and really, a lot of the jokes felt very tired to me. Like all the character names that are puns, or the fact that they're all stereotypes. It's really just very bland and not fresh.

It was really herkyjerky but I laughed at some stuffs. There's too much talent involved (and Cheri Oteri) for it to not end up being pretty funny. It's not like its peers in that block really raise the bar either.

My reaction was meh. TV Squad says the second episode is much better than the first, so I'll probably give it one more chance.

The Simpsons was actually pretty good last night, BTW.

I agree! It felt like classic Simpsons. Sadly, that's probably because it borrowed heavily from past plots, most notably "Bart's Friend Falls in Love" (Season 3) and "Brother's Little Helper" (Season 11).

(I realize referring to Season 11 as "classic" is pushing it a tad.)

Seriously, no, but that doesn't mean you should bother watching this show. They only used the laugh track as a running joke that wasn't funny.

What, "I need a catchphrase!" didn't have you in stitches?

It was pretty bad.

The only comfort is the fact that American Dad started out atrocious before it found its stride and became the best show on Sunday nights. I want to see this show last a season and see if lightning can strike twice.

But I have my doubts. Yikes!

Except for him needing a catchphrase, I found the Ass Principal/Ass Coach pretty funny.

Other than that, I hope it gets better. 4.5/10 from me, but I'll give it another chance.

Yee-haw! I'm likin' that a LOT. If this is indeed the final season, lets hope it's going out with a bang.
