Related to the "skimping vs brand name" thread, I was thinking about my brand loyality. When it becomes less an issue about saving money and more of an issue with "who do you trust?".
- Certain computer supplies. I refuse to by anything other than an ASUS motherboard, although that does not mean I'll be getting the most expensive one. Samsung for monitors. Seagate for hard drives. LG for DVD players.
- Kraft Dinner. Period. Nothing compares to the original, IMHO. I'll wait until it's on sale then I'll by a case of 48 at once (the strange looks I get form the cashier are free). Usually lasts me two months or so until I need to re-stock.
- Anything made by Nintendo. GameCube, Wii, DS, GBA, misc. etc. Speaking of games, Valve has earnt my trust by making a wide assortment of fantastic games.
- I'm a Coke man, not a Pepsi man. As a whole I like all of Coke's stuff better than Pepsi, but especially the main cola's.
- Colgate tooth paste. Cause my mom told me it was the bestest!!
There's some other stuff that I can't think of right now, will add later.
(edited by El Nastio on 6.3.09 1450) You know, I really don't know what to put here. Close your eyes and thank of something funny!
I cant think of any specifically, but I always stick to one brand of things once I've determined that they're trustworthy. Radio stations, TV stations, grocery stores, food brands, etc.
I always feel like I'm cheating on the other brand if I try something new.
The only sort of big ticket things for which I have an intense brand loyalty are Nike shoes, Rawlings baseball/softball gloves and Dell computers. Nike because they seem to be the only athletic shoes that offer me enough arch support out of the box. Rawlings because I've had 30+ years of good quality and see no reason to try something different. Dell because I'm on my 5th Dell, both laptops and desktops, and I've never had anything but positive experiences with their products and their support, on the really rare occasions on which I've needed it.
I used to be a Mopar man until a couple of really bad experiences with the corporate support for their product soured me on the brand in general.

I've got a T-shirt, sweatshirt, hat, socks, and sneakers on that are all swooshed. I have a couple of Reebok items at home and occasionally get Reebok shoes, but I have an unhealthy non-love for adidas, though I couldn't begin to tell you why.
I'm pretty brand-loyal to EA Sports games, although that is less of an issue than it used to be because the licenses are exclusive now.

Uh, no. Best Foods only for me, thanks.
Put me in the Coke camp as well, though I find many Pepsi products (that are not Pepsi) quite enjoyable. And Gatorade, NOT Powerade. And Tillamook cheese and ice cream.
Holy fuck shit motherfucker shit. Read comics. Fuck shit shit fuck shit I sold out when I did my job. Fuck fuck fuck shit fuck. Sorry had to do it....

Gaming: SONY Jeans: Levi's Boxers: Old Navy MP3 players: RCA Lyra Sports: Tony Stewart (#14), Kyle Busch (#18) and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Soda: Diet Pepsi
You know, I actually thought long and hard about this and I could not come up with anything. I have no loyalty to clothing, sneakers, business wear, cars, bikes, music stores, food, milk, pretty much anyhting. And then I looked overat my ever present can od Diet Coke and pack of Orbit Bubblemint gum and realized I could never order another diet soda - especially Diet Pepsi - and Orbit Bubblemint is the only gm I chew. So there.
However, when I smoked, it was always Parliaments.
"Marriage is like that show ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’, but it’s not funny. All the problems are the same, but you know instead of all the funny, pithy dialogue, everybody is really pissed off and tense. Marriage is like a tense, unfunny version of 'Everybody Loves Raymond', only it doesn't last 22 minutes. It lasts forever."
Best Foods - Mayo Plochmann's - Stoneground Horseradish Mustard Coke 7-UP (I drink ALL clear lemon-lime beverages, but 7-UP is obviously superior and when I'm sick it is a MUST) Saltines - the store brand ones are too sweet Eggo Nutragrain Blueberry Waffles Morningstar Farms non-meat Sausage Patties Safeway (yes it is a store brand) Blueberry Instant Oatmeal, because it has dehydrated blueberries instead of blueberry flavored fig pieces. Safeway Eating Right Chicken Tamale Frozen Meal for 2 - Seriously they put crack in that rice...

Oh yeah, and Tillamook Cheese and Tillamook Yogurt (Vanilla Bean is the bestest)
I don't tend to think that I have too much brand loyality. But these are what I came up with:
Clothes: I've gotten into Reebok recently for both its shoes and its sweaters. I used to buy Vans sneakers exclusively, but I don't care for some for their recent designs.
Food/ Drink: I'm so used to Heinz ketchup in my everyday life, I'm not sure I would survive trying another brand. As far as drinks go, I have to go with Diet Pepsi in the great cola debate. I like both and drink both (though Pepsi more), but my worst job was connected to Cola-Coca and they gave me so much crap when ordering their products. Oh, and the best cheese in the world is Queso Duro (hard cheese) from the motherland. Tillamook can go suck it and suck it hard for all I care.
Gas: Nine times out of ten, I'll use Sunoco gas because it is less expansive around here and seems to give me more milage per gallon out of my car.
Books/ Magazines: I find the best deals and variety at Borders. Their rewards card gives me really good discounts every couple of weeks as well.
Radio: XM/Sirius is so incredible. I don't know why I didn't get sooner and I hope the rumors of it going bankrupt aren't true.
P.S.: Sorry about the cheese diss, Guru Zim, but I got to call it as I see it.
I switched allegiances from FIFA soccer games to Pro Ev (or Winning XI if you prefer) about five years ago and never looked back. Beyond that, can't think of much.
If there's a brand of sweet more addictive than Haribo though, I've yet to come across it.
