Damn, I'm usually excited this time of year, but this year I just CAN'T wait for the playoffs to start. Maybe it's because the Bucs are on fire, I don't know. Anyway, here's how the playoff field looks:
I think the Steelers kick the shit out of everyone in the AFC, then either play a classic with the Rams in the Super Bowl or toy around with the Bucs or the Pack.
Hey! The Bucs are NOBODY'S toy! The Steelers beat the Bucs earlier this year (in fact, they kicked our ass), and if we meet them in the SB, revenge will be served.
Uhh, has anyone been watching the lousy run defense that we have been playing lately? We've made Skip Hicks, Jamel White, and Michael Bennett look like Pro Bowlers the last three weeks. Garrison Hearst will run over, around, and through us, whether we're playing at Lambeau or not.
Unfortunately for me, I'll be in sunny San Diego, wathcing my brother-in-law graduate from the Marines, so I've already sold my playoff tickets for the first round.
My predictions - Other than the 49ers beating the Pack in the first round, the NFC will go exactly by seed. It's too early to predict games in the AFC, since their seedings are up in the air. Pittsburgh will likely advance, as long as they don't have to depend on Kris Brown to win a game for them. In the end, it won't matter, as St. Louis is going to play Steve Austin to whomever the AFC sends out as Little Spike Dudley.
The Patriots are going to the Super Bowl Baby! I'm telling ya the AFC is wide open, no one is beating them first round cause it'll be up here in New England in 15 degree weather. Then it's Pitt and Oakland, Oakland is showing their age and Pitt is showing thier Kordell. He isn't reborn and when Bill Belicheck sets his sights on him Kordell will be exposed for the back up that he is. Belicheck is "the belly". He digests the others teams gameplans and turns them into crap. JAMBALAYA!!!!

You know, the Pats don't necesarrily have a home game in the playoffs. If they lose to the Jets this weekend, then they will be traveling to New York in the first round.

AFC is not certain, but how I think it will end up: 1)Steelers 2)Raiders 3)Dolphins 4)Jets 5)Patriots 6)Ravens
Now, how I think the playoffs will go: Wildcard: Bucs over Eagles, Packers over 49ers, Dolphins over Ravens, Patriots over Jets
Divisional: Bucs over Rams, Bears over Packers, Raiders over Dolphins, Steelers over Patriots
Conference Championships: Bears over Bucs, Raiders over Steelers
Super Bowl: Raiders over Bears
Of course I WANT the Bucs to be in New Orleans, but I just don't know if they can keep their current hot streak alive that long.
In the seeding, doesn't the 1st seed play the 6th seed, 2nd play the 5th, etc...?

I thought the playoff structure was going to stay the same next year (4 division winners, two wild cards)? Please don't tell me they are adding more wild cards.
I should have known that. I blame college Basketball for screwing me up.
I'm glad, though, because if the Dolphins played the Jets?
*shudders*

Whoever says the Patriots will ruin Kordell and waltz to the SB (Gamilon) is mistaken. I will admit that New England poses the biggest threat to the Steelers, but if they meet on the tundra that is Heinz Field, its gonna be Steelers 23 Pats 14. My Super Bowl Prediction......Steelers 31 Rams 28.
Sorry, Z. As I said before, we've made pedestrian running backs look awesome the last 3 weeks. If the likes of Hicks, White and Bennett can run roughshod on us, I fear for what Garrison Hearst will do. Maybe I'll change my mind if we hold Barber and Dayne down this weekend, and Mark Brunell does a favor for his former team and BEATS THE BEARS!
Of course, all I need to do is pick against the Pack in my pool, and that would virtually guarantee that they'll win.
*fills out 18 versions of pool, all having Pack lose in various rounds of playoffs*
I thought I have heard him talking retirement since last season though. Being from Washington, we have Alexander but I really liked watching Tiki running the ball and more particularly, how he protected the ball the last 3 years or so.
