Washington has spent a lot on free agents in the past and it hasn't worked out that well, but Haynesworth is a beast and should really help.

Hopefully he wasn't just contract motivated the last two years and he continues to play well. And stays healthy. The Redskins desperately needed D-line help, so that's good, but it's too much money to be gambling with.

Not a good sign when your former team and the team where your former DC now resides, both with plenty of cap space, decided he wasn't worth getting in a bidding war over.

I would have loved for him to have re-signed here, but not for $41 million guaranteed ...

How do the Redskins continue to do it? Not only did they land big Al, but they gave Deangelo Hall sick money as well.

Indeed. I think they started the offseason $3M over the cap, and I didn't see any real bloodletting.

If you wanna reach the Co-op, boy, you gotta get by me.

Word, plus they're getting Bruce Smith, Deion Sanders, Dana Stubblefield ... it's gonna be a force.
