Really, I guess I should talk about the twists here

- having Erica be another mole kinda makes more sense, instead of one person miraculously going unnoticed by many

- her ending was no surprise to anyone but her, but it was nice that the FBI was actually an effective enough crime fighting unit to trap an guy with a bullet wound in their building.

(Though - didn't they say there was only 2 moles in the FBI? What about the FBI guy who helped Tony's sniper escape?)

- There's obviously pieces being put in place for later, but it mostly felt like they were resolving the season some 14 episodes early, until the whole info dump by Tony.

But that preview for next week kinda blows it all out my mind? There have been a lot of very improbable things that have occurred on 24. Nuclear bombs have gone off, people have come back from the dead, Wayne Palmer was elected president...but next week looks as if it will beat all. I guess it's foreshadowed this week (explains why the US so easily is winning the war) but of course seems to make no sense on other levels (THIS is plan B? what were they going to do if Plan A actually worked?)

I don't recall anyone saying that there were only 2 (or any specific number) of FBI moles. It seems the conspiracy had a lot of people on the payroll.

You're right that they were wrapping things up. I think after the strike they came up with new ideas and needed to wrap up the old ones. The two post-strike episodes have been good, so hopefully they know what they're doing. I liked that this episode gave the end room to breath rather than pushing too quickly to the next crisis.

I don't watch the previews so no comments there. I am looking forward to Tony Todd having more of a role, although I wonder how that will work if he's still in Africa...

But, even with that storyline wrapping up, they hadn't resolved the root cause of the terrorism or where the money came from. Speaking of which, Jon Voight should be back in the picture soon. Given that he's the money guy behind the warlord and was also present at the inauguration, these first ten hours were more prologue than anything else. I'm looking forward to what he brings to the table.

I think it's interesting that one of the moles in the government is the chief of staff for the Senator who has it in for Jack.

The one thing that bothered me was that Larry Moss just kept talking and talking to Sean after finding him shot in the server room after someone tried to reformat the network to erase the database. And, he had obviously just killed an FBI programmer. Moreover, Larry just let him walk out before he got a statement or even saw a doctor. That bugged me.

Still, a really good season, and I think this is the best season since the 4th season, at least so far. Definitely a smart idea to change the setting to DC. All kinds of possibilities open up.

Your pick of the week is the correct choice. See it in a theater if you get the chance.
