If CRZ had done The 5 instead of The 7, we'd all be all over this right now.

The Random Quote Generator led me to a thread about WM XX, which then, through further browsing, led me to this beaut from five years ago (almost to the day):

John Cena vs. Randy Orton: Who's the better longterm prospect? (The W)

The votes I counted in the thread gave Cena a nearly 2:1 edge (approx 16-7). I counted three who voted for “both.”

Some nice quotes from this thread:

It's a pretty safe bet at least one of these men (if not both) will make it big...probably in 3-5 years.

I've never really seen *it* in John Cena.

I like Orton, but my gut tells me that he doesn't really have his heart set on wrestling even if it is a legacy for him. Cena is more driven than Orton, I feel.

My answer? Orton. WWE has saddled Cena with a "Rapmaster" gimmick that will hold him down until he shows more range (he can, but he's been "typecast"), whereas Orton seems to have as much of an opportunity as he wants in WWE, and they will keep pushing him until he actually goes somewhere.

what's cena gonna do after the rap thing has died?

Here is the "correct answer" to the question...

Cena will be a big star of his own making, Orton will be the company-made star. If you tell people something enough times they'll end up believeing it (ask Foley), so that's how Orton's going to get over, unless he improves on his own.

EDIT: screwed up the link

I just saw a thread on The 7 where they were talking about them all in OVW. Cena, Orton, Batista, Brock Lesnar, and then Rico Constantino and Ron Waterman.

I just don't know if Rico has the natural charisma or charm to make it big. Of course, he can play a pretty good dick so who knows?

That's why I like the Prototype so much. He plays an awesome a$$hole. He's just pure arrogance (no offense to Mr. Martel), plus he can back it up in the ring.

Leviathan is just so large and built. I doubt he will ever develop the dexterity in the ring that Brock has, but if he does, look out. Leviathan would be a good fit for the Undertaker/Kane type of role. Especially a Kane type guy, doesn't say much, looks like a legit ass-kicker.

Of course, OVW also has Sean O'Haire who is refining his skills as well as Ron "H2O" Waterman who looks pretty good too.

That's why OVW has been so much fun to watch.

Now, I'm getting them all confused in my head, but I believe Cena was The Prototype and Batista was Leviathan. Was Waterman ever brought up into WWE? If not, does anyone know why? Did his MMA career just take over?

Geez. I'm afraid I read this as "I don't like Randy Orton so I'm gonna start a thread about it but I'm gonna pretend it's about something else, but really, no, it's about not liking Randy Orton."

How did John Cena get over "on his own"? You think he would have started rapping on TV had Stephanie McMahon not seen him freestyle on an airplane ride and okayed him to go on TV and do it? Since then Cena has been the Ultimate Company Man. The company has pushed him harder than anyone save Hogan, Austin, and Rock, and throws its entire marketing weight behind him, making sure that their millions of young fans get all the Cena they want and then some. But he did that "on his own", apparently, while Orton is "company made." Okay. Sure.

They are BOTH company made stars. They are ALL company made stars if they're over in WWE.

Speaking of gems...found this thread from the RQG that is a few months away from popping up on the 7.

http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=3614 "Is a good pro-wrestling movie possible?" Apparently the answer is yes :)

I never even knew "the 7" existed as a feature until right now.
Pretty sweet- like a little time capsule.

CRZ - random question about the 7. I was in there reading some old stuff and came upon the $183 million lotto and when I see my posts, there is my avatar of Rolie Polie Olie.

When I check another thread - a DEAN thread! - there is a post of mine with my current Eli Manning avatar.

How does that happen?

Originally, we didn't keep post icon information with posts, so you get your current icon as the default - that's for about the first month's worth of posts.

Nope its Mick. Good too, cause Shawn Mikles...I mean Micheals turning on Kevin Nash would do nothing to help this sad HHH/Nash feud.
